Sharn

As the group of adventurers moves past the Watch, the gathered bystanders part ways a little to allow them to pass.

Just after the group turns off the bridge and are out of sight of the Watch, they are affronted by another cloaked figure. His hood is pulled tight against the rain, keeping you from seeing his face.

As you approach, he holds up a hand to stop you and draw your attention. On his finger is a signet ring, emblazoned with the symbol of House Cannith. "If you would know the truth about Bonal Geldam's murder, go to the Broken Anvil Tavern at dawn."

Before anyone has a chance to ask questions, the stranger turns away and quickly dissapears into the night...

Spoiler Information for Ahlias Only.
You know that the Broken Anvil Tavern is located at Mason's Tower. You also know that Bonal Geldam is a provost for Morgrave University. That is the man who you were following, and who you was murdered on the bridge.

Alo
HP: 2/7
AC: 11 (vt:11, ff:10)

Alo shrugged his shoulders. "That was strange, do you think we should? It sounds like he wasn't just someone who was mugged. This is strange, but a man was murdered"

Bloody Hell...

Kyru
HP:1/7
AC:16 (FF:12, T:14)

Kyru didn't know exactly what was going on or how it happened, but he took in the scene rather quickly. The warforged was disabled, the party had a new member, the Sharn Watch was rushing them along...and he was sore. Really, really sore.

Stumbling along with Alo, Kyru shook his head and muttered "Bitch ruined my armor." They stalked onward in silence and hadn't made it 50 yards when a strange man in a cloak promised answers at a place called The Broken Anvil. He commited that to memory, along with the name Bonal Geldam.

He turned and looked at his party mates. "Well, I have a few things I want to do...and I'm sure everyone has a certain agenda of their own. Let's meet at that tavern at dawn. Alo, friends, if you'll excuse me..." He didn't wait to be excused, though and left the party.

As soon as he had passed from sight, he took a moment to check the contents of that coin bag he had taken from the body.

Interest

Ahlias grinned at the news, but it was a disturbing sense that came ove rhim. He took a few steps toward the cloaked figure from House Cannith and then turned back to his new associates.

"I guess I don't know any of you all very well...I'm Ahlias.", he says, holding a smile and nodding his head to all of them in turn. As he spoke, the Fighter replaced the Greatsword onto his back and looked again in the direction the cloaked one went.

"I don't know your plans, but I figure I'm gonna see what all that's about. Provost Geldam knew someone was after him bvy the way he was running, and that's strange to me. I know, I was chasing him! You see," Ahlias looked down, almost sheepishly, "I was out to talk to Geldam about a place in Morgrave under their adventuring commitee, but I don't have much to show for right now. I figure solving his muder might look good on my record, all that besides he was a decent sort!"

His fist was raised in front of his grinning face, as if he had made the most important speech of his life. Then he realised his own position and rubbed the back of his head and smiled, "Sorry..."

Spoiler = Kyru's findings

Kyru finds in the bag, without even having to search, 2 gold pieces and 10 silver pieces.

In addition, there are some Identification Papers.
The papers belong to one Mr. Bonal Geldam. They indicate that he holds the position of Provost at Morgrave University. They also indicate that he is affiliated with the School of Pre-Galifar Studies.

Mwahahahahahaha...

Kyru
HP:1/7
AC:16 (FF:12, T:14)

"Well now...that may come in handy." He drops the 2gp and 10sp into his own coin bag before tucking the other bag (and Provost Geldam's information) into one of the inner pockets of his cloak. He sighs, his chest still bearing the dull, achey throb from the axe wound.

He searches for a member of the Sharn Watch that could direct him to a place where he might find a Jorasco healing lodge and a decent armor shop.

Amnile
HP 2/9
AC 13

Amnlie hands Ahlis the book he found."I found this in a sack of the deceased belonging,"He said as they walk away from the crime scene. "I don't know about you guys but I am heading for the tavern. By the way my name is Amnile." He then gives Ahlis a bow. He then heads for this Broken Anvil Tavern. 'I should of stayed at the monestary,' he mutters.

{OOC: OK! We've got some free time here, and this is how you can spend it

If anyone wants to just gloss over purchasing of services and goods, you can just give me a list of what you found and what you bought. Standard prices apply. Any standard shop, we assume you can find without too much trouble.

Feel free to spend any money available to you for standard items, ale, whores, or level 0-2 magic items. Anything higher than that, clear it with me first. Post whatever you end up buying.

Give me a list of what you bought.

If you don't want to do any shopping, just post that you are going to the Tavern.

If you -want- to actually role play out going into shops, meeting shopkeepers, making purchases, thats fine too. I'm just assuming people would rather get on with the main plot.

Also, if you missed it, Jai added some good info to the OOC thread.}

Kyru
HP:7/7
AC:16 (FF:12, T:14)

Kyru's evening consisted of...
  • A visit to House Jorasco for some healing. (8gp)
  • A visit to a decent smith to repair his armor. (4sp)
  • A good time at the Firelight Bordello. (Giggity giggity giggity!) (12cp)
  • A meager meal at a local street vendor, with watered ale. (12cp)
  • A visit to a weapons shop to replace the dagger he lost in the fight with Cutter. (2gp)

After shining the blade of his dagger during the walk, he sheathes the blade in his boot this time and proceeds to The Broken Anvil tavern. Before entering, he muses aloud to no one in particular "I wonder if they have an inn? That whore, Ellyanna, wore me out." A glimpse inside reveals a seedy atmosphere and many of imposingly thuggish figures. "Think I'll just wait outside for the rest of my friends..."

(OOC: Word, Sj. House Jorasco healing. (1d8+1=7))

(Money: 57gp/12sp -10gp/04sp/24cp = 47gp/5sp/6cp. Heh heh...ooooooooh riiight. Whoa! Sorry...couldn't resist the Quagmire references.)

Alo
HP: 7/7
AC: 11 (vt:11, ff:10)

Alo wandered through a market for some time, and decided after the near disaster of the battle earlier, that he would be better off buying a swapping his staff for a sling and buying some small stone bullets to use with it. Then he went to House Jorasco, missing Kyru, but having a healing spell cast upon him non the less.

Cure Light Wounds cast by house Jorosco (1d8+1=4)

He was still alittle worse for wear, but he was feeling alot better. Then he found himself a friendly looking inn and rented a room for the night. A good meal and a good nights sleep later and he was ready to face this mystery. Before he left the inn he prepared his spells for the day and then he then made his way to the meeting place in time for dawn.

((+1 HP for resting))

Ahlias was really only thinking about talking to the cloaked figure. He wanted to get to the bottom of this and finally get to Morgrave. He watched the others go, looking at the strange book that Amnile handed him. It had a strange design, and was clearly magical.

Ahlias had nothing much to do, so he made his way towards the Tavern, enjoying the bustle of the Skybridges after the wake of such a grisly experience.

Meanwhile, he wondered if anyone around had any odd jobs for him to do, Ahlias was nearly broke and he hoped to make a bit of money to rent a room and perhaps replace his healing potion.

For Ahlias:
The leather bound journal is small, measuring about 3 inches by 6 inches, and 1 inch thick. The cover is dark leather with strands of mithral thread woven in a strange pattern. It bears no title, just the mithral thread icon on the front cover. Inside, every page is blank, but the sheets have a strange feel. They don't seem to be paper, or leather, but something not immediately identifiable.

As Ahlias walked about the upper levels of Mason Tower, he spent some of his attention on the strange book. What he found there puzzled him, but didn't surprise him. He was no mage, but at times like this, he wished he was.

Ahlias, after 4 hours of searching (half the night), you find that there is a shop owner who is willing to pay you the hefty wage of 1 silver piece for services as a guard for the remainder of the night.

Amnile Pays 7 sp to the house of healers and rests 8 hours gaining 2 hp.

Ahlias isn't going to complain all that much. He's to excited to sleep anyway, and he spends most of the time thinking about the events and attempting to make sense of the magical book he's come into the possession of. He doesn't. As the morning comes along, Ahlias pays his respects to the shop owner, takes his silver piece and wanders off towards the Tavern.

Surprisingly, he isn't very tired, the promise of adventure setting his mind afire.

{OOC: Ok, that covers everyone except Raharanor, and Lowthor, you wanted to do some extra shopping, which we can wrap up via IM when you get online. Rah, you can do the same when you get your stuff situated. I don't want to hold everyone up though.}

The Broken Anvil

Just before the sun begins to break over the far horizon, the five of you meet together in front of the door to the Broken Anvil. There is a sign above the door indicating that the establishment belongs to House Ghallandra.

Inside the Anvil, the halfling matron greets you. "Welcome. You're host is already here and waiting for you. Please, follow me."

She leads you back to a secluded table near the back of the common room. "My Lady," the halfling says to a woman already seated at the table, "You're guests have arrived."

The human female in the dark blue cloak has delicate features, dark blue eyes and sleek black hair bound with silver and turquoise ornaments. She wears a signet ring of House Cannith on her right ring finger and speaks in a soft but clear voice. "Thank you for coming. We have important business to discuss that relates to the unfortunate death of Bonal Geldam. Please, sit down."

Ahlias sits and considers the woman, and waits for someone more Diplomatic to say something. He keeps the book on hand.

Alo put his rucksack on the floor and then took a seat where was indicated. He didn't say anything just yet, instead he just waited to hear what was said.
