Offensive!

Ahlias
HP: 12
AC: 13-2 (11 After Charge)

That Murderer was a worthy opponent, and Ahlias knew he had to give this everything he had. The only way he was going to be a true Adventurer under the employ of Morgrave University is if he showed his merit in true combat. His hands tensed around the leather-wrapped hilt of his Greatsword, and Ahlias allowed it to sink a bit, and as it sank to Thigh-level, Ahlias broke into a charge for the carnage!

His slender, muscle toned body cut through the darkness like the blade of a knife, and his cry of aggressive passion cut over the whistles and the rain, but he was fast enough that Cutter wouldn't have much time to react to the Warriors terrible charge.

He almost -leaped- at the lethal Warforged, his Greatsword arcing through the streaming drops of rain with the intent to spray the metallic hunter all over the Skybridge.

End of Round 4

Coming from nowhere, an armor clad warrior charges in and, showing a battle-prowess that is enviable from any seasoned warrior, he drives his greatsword through the metal head of Cutter, ending the warforged's life.

As Cutter collapses to the ground, a loud ticking sound can be heard coming from the dead warforged's chest. A strange little machine detaches itself from Cutter's torso and begins flying through the air.

In the background, the whistles grow louder. It sounds like the Watch will be here within moments.

{OOC: Everyone, please give yourselves 60 XP. Combat is over, so you can take actions freely now.}

Alo
HP: 2/7
AC: 11 (vt:11, ff:10)

Alo didn't like the sight of his own blood. In a way he was lucky that there was so much blood on the bridge. At least that way he couldn't tell how much of it was his.

"Thank you stranger. I thought us done for. Can you help with my companions they are gravely wounded?" He asked the newcomer.

Aftermath.

Ahlias wasn't a doctor, and he wasn't exactly an experienced adventurer either. He did know that Gorfan's wounds were brutal, and the dwarf was going to die without some kind of aid. A grimace from the Warrior told Alo he was thinking, but the prospects didn't look very good.

The Sharn Watch was quickly approaching, and this bloody scene could be interperted in any way. Ahlias was a swordsman, but he wasn't stupid. Then he remembered something; his last bit of money he'd taken with him to Sharn had gone into the buying of a Healing Potion, and Ahlias hated the thought of using it...

But he smiled and drew it from his belt pouch, stepping beside the injured dwarf and kneeling. The potion was uncorked and applied to the Dwarf's mouth, and Ahlias couldn't help but feel for him. He was big-hearted, and rather innocent, and the sight of the goodly Cleric made him feel a bit of anger, even though Cutter was dead. "You'll pull through..."

He didn't know these people, but everything was happening so fast - his basic instincts and morals kicked in. The Scholar had been killed, he saw that. His chance at Morgrave possibly blown forever.

Gorfan
HP:6
AC:16 (VT:10, FF:16)

' Foolishness indeed...I use my father's warhammer in such a disgraceful fashion, and knocking myself out in the process, he would be ashamed of me, and my order would also...' These were Gorfan's blurred thoughts as he was driven from unconsciousness by a stranger standing over him with an empty bottle of healing potion. He had felt a strange sensation of healing flowing through him only just before...this man must have healed him.

" Thankyou good sir," Gorfan ventured smiling slightly," I am most grateful for you having saved me from the depths of unconsciousness, and indeed, assisting us slay that damned warforged" Gorfan motioning towards the dead warforged as he said this.

The Watch seemed to be nearly where he, his companions and the newcomer were standing.

Sharn, the Skybridge

Spoiler for Amnile Only, unless he decides to share what he finds in his search.
Inside the finely made, stylish leather satchel, you find a small journal, some quills, an inkwell, six blank sheets of fine Karrnathi paper, and a wrapped apple.

The journal, measuring roughly 3 inches by 6 inches and 1 inch thick, and has a cover of dark brown leather with strands of mithril thread woven into a strange pattern. It bears no title, just the mithral thread icon on the front cover. Inside, every page is blank, but the sheets have a strange feel; they don't seem to be paper or leather, but not something readily identifiable.

Two males and a female emerge from the rain-drenched night, wearing the green studded leather of the Sharn's City Watch. The leader, a powerfully built dwarf with a close-cropped beard, steps forward, levelling his crossbow in your direction. The small ball of light hovering just above and behind his left shoulder, illuminates the area. To each side of him a human male and female stand with halberds at the ready.

"Olladra's Bloody Nose!" curses the dwarf. "By order of the Watch, drop your weapons and explain yourself!"

Gorfan
HP:6/10
AC:16 (VT:10, FF:16)

Gorfan focussed his gaze upon the leading dwarf of the Sharn Watch, and knew that they would be apprehended at will if they did not offer a good explanation...they may even come to grief at the end of those halberds held by the male and female of the Watch. The cleric placed his warhammer down by his feet and proceeded to venture forth an explanation.

"The long and short of all this,"Gorfan began," is that as I was going along with my companions here(motioning at Kyru, Amnile and Alo)when we happened to notice this warforged cloaked and disappearing over the side of the bridge...we noticed this body on the bridge(motioning now to the body of the warforged and the body of the dead man), and as we were inspecting it the warforged female uncloaked herself and assailled us heavily, severely wounding some of my companions, including myself.."

Taking a breath, Gorfan continued...

"To conclude, we were unjustly attacked by the warforged here, and we were compelled to defend ourselves from her advances with her battle axe...and for myself in particluar my order, the Sovereign Host of Boldrei, demands that I and other members face down and defend against evil-intentioned beings when appropriate"

Finished with his explanation of events, Gorfan looked to his companions as if they should add anything to his explanation if need be, and to the members of the Watch before him...

Ahlias could tell the merit of the Dwarf and his guards, and he knew the group of them couldn't hope to stand up in a fight against the heavily armed and reinforced watch.

He hoped these people wouldn't say anything foolish and get them all imprisoned, or worse, killed.

The rain had matted his longer black hair over his face, but he still managed a smile and allowed his greatsword to touch the skybridge. his own hands went up. He wasn't going to say anything, he wasn't much of a talker, and he knew that his mouth would probably get them into more trouble.

He just needed to get to Morgrave and out of this mess.

The Watch

Aiming his crossbow directly at Ahlias, the dwarf commands "You! Whats your story? He didn't include you in his group."

Apparently, Gorfan's heartfelt explanation wasn't taken at face value. Swinging his crossbow back towards Gorfan, he says "Lets see some Identification. What were you doing in Sharn in the first place? Idle beggars looking for money to steal? How do I know you weren't part of the plot to kill this poor fellow?"

Ahlias allowed his hands to rise a little higher, and a sheepish smile came over his face. This Dwarf wasn't the least bit trusting of strangers and murders. Good for Sharn, to have such a rugged and visceral watchman in their employ. Bad for them.

"I'm just a nobody! I saw these guys getting attacked and I felt it was the right thing to do to step in! I was just....you know, heading towards the University...these guys are innocent, they were defending themselves!"

Ahlias hoped he was convincing enough. Somewhere deep down, he doubted it.

Kyru
HP:-6/7
AC:16 (FF:12, T:14)

Kyru coughs up some blood.

(OOC: Still very much alive, in need of medical attention, and in plain view of the Sharn Watch...*whistles*)

Alo
HP: 2/7
AC: 11 (vt:11, ff:10)

Alo moved closer to the guards. He was battered but alive, and a few days rest would have him fighting fit again.

"Excuse me, sirs?" He said "My companion is telling the truth. We are newly arrived in the city after travelling here together. It is a fine city and we simply wished to see its wonders. We reached the bridge just as the storm was breaking, and then we noticed the body on the bridge. When we went to check on the wellbeing of the poor gentleman, that female warforged attacked us. Had it not been for this kindly stranger we may have been killed."

He took his rucksack off and took out the identity papers proclaiming him Alosoleth the elf, and held them up for the guard to see. "This has been a frightening encounter Sir and I hope you will understand that it was not us that started the battle."

Diplomacy VS guards (1d20+2=19)

The Watch

"Nobody, eh? You trying to be some smart-guy? You got something to hide? What do you say we just take the lot of you down to the jailhouse and see what other stories you want to tell?" The dwarf looks like he's about to advance on Ahlias and make good on his threats when a voice stops him.

"Sergeant Dolom, they are telling the truth. I saw the whole thing." "Yea, I saw it too. That warforged attacked them first." A few bystanders step forward to confirm your story.

Between that, and Alo's testimony, something seems to have gotten through to the Dwarf. He pauses and considers a moment. "Alright... You're free to go. But next time, you leave the heroics to the Watch. We don't need any vigilantes running around.

Now get out of here before I change my mind."

Alo
HP:2/7
AC: 11 (vt:11, ff:10)

"Thank you." Alo said to the crowd. "That was very kind of you".

Alo turned back away from the guards as they walked off, and put his papers in his rucksack again. Then he returned his attention to his fallen friend. He walked over and crouched down next to the elf.

"Can anyone help him?" He asked

Amnile
HP 2/9
AC 13

"Gorfan can't you cast a spell or something?"Amnile said looking to Kyru. He leaves the journl in the sack and tpromises himself to tell the others when they are out of the rain.

Gorfan
HP:6/10
AC:16 (VT:10, FF:16)

Relieved at the danger of imprisonment passing, and having shown his identity papers in full view of the dwarf and his two Watch guards, Gorfan proceeded to Kryu..the elvish rogue bleeding and in grave need of healing and treatment. Gorfan picking up his warhammer while doing this...

" Ok my friend," The dwarven cleric said gruff yet kind manner," here's a spell I've been saving for someone of your case...I do hope by Boldrei that it works..."

(( Casting cure light wounds spell upon Kyru after bridge skirmish. (1d8+1=3)+2=5 using action point Casts Cure Minor Wounds twice to heal 2 hp...Kyru is now at 1 hp))

Sgt. Dolom

The dwarf clears his throat loudly to remind you that he's still here. "Alright, you've taken care of your friend. You all seem capable of walking, now get out of here. This is a crime scene, and we need to do an investigation. Can't very well do that with you mucking up the place."

Alo
HP: 2/7
AC: 11 (vt:11, ff:10)

Alo motioned to help Kyru to his feet, and then motioned that they should continue on their way. "I think we may need to rethink our idea of this place being safer than home." He said quietly so the Watchmen would most likely not make out what was being said.

"So what do you think? A hot meal and something to drink?"
