Alo

Alo followed behind Kyru, and whilst the rogue searched the body, Alo peered into the rain filled air along the length of the skybridge. Kyru was clearly wary, and Alo picked up on this. There were a couple of spells he kept prepared just in case he needed to defend himself. Fortunately they did not need any ingredients. He just needed to speak the words and make the right gestures, and he was ready to do that if he needed.

Listen Check (1d20=6)

Sharn, Skybridge

@Kyru and Amnile - You both begin searching the corpse. Amnile gets the leather satchel gripped in the man's hand as its the easiest to find. Kyru's more experienced search find a coin purse attached to the man's hip. Unfortunately, before they can search further....

Surprise Round

The sound of falling rain covers the tell-tale noises of someone climbing up from the side of the bridge. It isn't until the cloaked figure from before jumps over the barrier and comes down attacking Amnile that anyone notices they are in danger. Even the 'Elven' senses of Alo are caught of guard.

The light of the Everbright Lanterns reflect strangly off the attacker's hidden face. The assailant swings a battle-axe at the unprotected face of Amnile and draws first blood with the devastating attack. (10 dmg)

{OOC: Mappage!

Key:
White - Gorfan
Green - Alo
Blue - Kyru
Red - Amnile
Black - Cutter(the attacker)

Everyone please roll initiative.

Amnile, your enemy rolled max damage on that attack. I believe you are unconcious and bleeding now. Also, please add a link to your character sheet to your signature, like everyone else did. I had to go digging through the OOC thread to find your sheet.
Everyone watch out. The DM's dice are hot for this battle. I almost criticalled on the first attack.}

(OOC: Looks like our DM isn't the only one with hot combat rolls. LOL. Watch me critically fail every roll after this.)

Kyru
HP:7
AC:16 (FF:12, T:14)

From the sleeve of his other hand, Kyru pulled his dagger. Generally, he abhored direct confrontation, but he couldn't spy a place to fade into the background in order to gain a more advantageous attack.

With a quick flick of the wrist, he flung the dagger at the mysterious attacker. He was uncertain of whether it would serve any purpose other than making him a target, but it was a chance he was willing to take.

After all, he did have a wizard at his back.

(OOC: Ranged dagger attack. (1d20+4=8) )

Cutter

With a metallic CLANG, the dagger bounced off the body of the cloaked figure. Fortunately for Amnile, Kyru was right that his actions did draw the attacker's attention. With a quick step over the dead body, the attacker closes into melee range with Kyru and swings the battle-axe. Fortunately for Kyru, he was ready for the attack, and his quickness allows him to avoid direct contact with the weapon. He gets away with nothing more than a scrape across his leather armor.

Gorfan
HP: 10/10
AC: (VT:10, FF:16)

Gorfan, upon seeing Amnile fall and the cloaked man with the battleaxe move to engage Kyru, scuttled over to Amnile's side(moving forward 20 feet) and casts Cure Light Wounds upon him, with the aid of an action point to add 2 points to the spell, thus reducing his action point count to 4.

((Cure Light Wounds: 1d8+1-> [1,1] = (2) +2 points added from perusal of action point, bringing total to 4 hp gained by Amnile))

Alo
HP: 7/7
AC: 11 (VT: 11, FF: 10)

Alo did not exactly react quickly to the events as they unfolded, in fact Gorfan was already close to Amnile, and Kyru was fighting the attacker. He reacted the way he normally did in these situations. He held his staff in one hand, and began to speak the series of arcane commands, and make the correct gestures.

[Casts Magic Missile (Hooray!!) - 1 Std Action] Magic Missile damage on Cutter (1d4+1=4)

The purply blue magical light shot out from his left hand, arched through the air and managed to bypass Kyru before impacting with the cutter's chest. Then he looked like he might try and get closer to the cutter, but thought better of it for the time being.

Kyru
HP:7
AC:16 (FF:12, T:14)

Up close and personal, this murderer was more of a threat. That axe could deliver all kinds of nasty punishment that Kyru wasn't fond of taking...

Still, no advantages presented themselves, so he immediately decided a head-on attack may turn the tables. He drove forward with his rapier.

(Attacking Cutter with his rapier. (1d20=8))

Cutter

Cutter was rocked back by the magical attack from Alo. Not enough to make him drop his guard enough for that pitiful attempt of Kyru's with the rapier to cause damage though.

With a gutteral roar, Cutter rips off her cloak and reveals herself to be a Warforged. She lets her rage wash over her and she begins attacking Kyru with a renewed fury.

She screams a battle-cry and slams the battle-axe into Kyru's chest, dropping him to the ground to bleed out his life. (12 Dmg)

The sound of battle must have attracted the attention of some locals, as through the rain, voices can be heard. "Hey! Stop that!" "Murder! They're murdering that man!" "Someone call the Watch!"

Kyru
HP:-5/7
AC:16 (FF:12, T:14)

The tip of his rapier finds no purchase within the folds of the cloaked figure, who looses a blood-curdling battle cry, tears away the cloak (revealing it to be a warforged) and swings in a back-handed arc with the axe.

It sinks into the chest of Kyru and easily slides out as the warforged draws in preparation for the next attack. The force of the blow causes Kyru to stumble back. He spits out a gout of blood that was welling in his throat.

"Bitch...ruined my armor..." he says through a labored breath and falls to the ground with a sickening meaty thud as the life begins to drain out of him in ever-increasing bloody waves.

His last thoughts before being swallowed by the murky darkness are his nearly breathless prayers that the Keeper will see his soul expediently to the realm of Dolurrh.

(OOC: At this time, I'd like to state that talking is a free action. This in no way effects the order of turns. It's still your move, Zeth.)
