Forgotten Forge: IC

{OOC: I'm going to assume at this point that everyone starts searching the shelves, and assists in taking 20 for the search.}

Among the shelves, a few other items are found which appear to be of value. Between the four of you, you find the following (including the previous finds by Alo and Soryn).

1 Masterwork Rapier
3 Small Steel Shields
1 suit of Scale Mail
1 Small Masterwork chain shirt
1 heavy mace
1 longsword
1 masterwork heavy mace
2 sunrods

{OOC: Everyone decide who gets what, or whats being left behind. Add it to your character sheet under equipment if you are the one who is carrying it around.

Also, Everyone please take a stroll over to the OOC thread in a moment.}

Soryn

The rapier seemed to be the only thing of true use for him so he made sure to grab it and then continue his search around the area. Strolling along over to the forge and furnace which seemed like it had not been used in ages, he rummaged around the area in an attempt to see if there is anything else worth taking along with him there.

(Initiating search for seemingly valuable things at forge and furnace)

Soryn

The forge and furnace combination looks similar to the others you've seen in various House Cannith shops. It takes up the easternmost 10 feet of the room. Metal tiles cover the floor for an additional 10 feet.

During his search, Soryn quickly discovers a series of impressions in the top of the forge. There is a pentagon, a triangle, and a square.

Soryn

The impressions seen catch his eye and in some sort of epiphany he looks at his triangular rod and the impression, attempting to place the item there out of simple curiousity.

Soryn

The click was intriguing enough to motivate this rogue to speak. "There should be other rods that should fit into these impressions here." He motioned Gorfan and Alo over but eventually left the forge alone to look specifically at the furnace, attempting to search for anything that might be inside it. Perhaps another rod?

{OOC: You guys have got to stop letting me forget about your experience.

Everyone gets 225 XP for finding a way inside the foundry and defeating the guardians.}

Soryn

Finding nothing but soot, he huffs lightly and then steps away from the forge and the furnace to look at the rubble caused by the ceiling, looking at the remains of the dog that was already disabled there, searching for a rod within the heavy rock that has crushed that dog.

Soryn

Upon failure, he simply attempts to lift it up again, not truly fixated on moving the rock but feeling frustration bubble up inside. Where was that warrior anyway? He was meant for finesse. A brief glance over to see where Ahlias was was given, but the rogue still attempted to lift the rock again just the same.

Str Check again 1d20+1=5

"You're better suited for this I believe....warrior..." The comment was directed straight at Ahlias, arms motioning to the rock suggestively

((I will refrain from doing Take 20 for IC reasons lol))

Alo

Alo nodded when Soryn held up the rod, and started hunting around the room for another.

((Taking 20 on search = 23))

Soryn

Wasting no time, he moves to search what is left of the mechanical guardian that was now, for the most part, uncovered.

Soryn

With pentagonal rod in hand, he moves to take the 'rectangular'(square?) rod as well and returns to the forge. The remaining pieces were placed into the impressions upon that forge, the intriguing click he had heard before most likely meaning that something would be done right? This forge more than likely held things with even more value than what had already been found...this rogue could feel it.

Soryn

As soon as Soryn places the last rod into place, a burst of electricity surges up through the metal plates under his feet. 6 dmg

Clearly, the rogue has found a trap.
