Ahlias couldn't let his adrenaline cool too much, for there was still a threat. However, his elation at utterly destroying the monster was personified in a gutteral roar of victory, and the Warrior spun his Greatsword to a place at his shoulder.

Gorfan

With that final swing of the hammer, the last metal dog shivers for a moment, as if he's trying to continue his defense, but finally, he collapses into a heap of spare parts. As the red light fades from the dog's eyes, a triangular rod pops out of his forehead with a click.

There doesn't appear to be any other immediate threat in the area.

{OOC: End initiative. Carry on gentlemen.}

Gorfan

Before Gorfan moves to investigate the triangular rods near the metal bodies of the dogs, he decides to heal himself of any damage he sustained during the skirmish. Their jagged jaws had hurt him grievously....but there was nothing some cure light wounds couldn't do.

The cleric then turned to the rest of the party, and remarked,"Unless any of you are in need of healing, I assume we'll invesitgate what these rods are eh?"

Soryn

The rogue had remained unscathed the entire battle....for once! He didn't waste time before moving to pick up the triangular rod from the heap of parts present before him, unsure as to what it might do but assuming it might be of use to someone. He simply thought it was a trinket and nothing more for the time being.

One look at Gorfan and a quick answer to his question. "What do you think this does?" He didn't expect any conclusive answer at all so he quickly used the sunrod he still had around him to search the area for any doors or exits out of where they had just placed themselves in.

"Thank the gods for that." Alo said and then slowly sat back down. He was badly bruised from the fall, and he thought he might have cracked a rib. "I don't suppose you've any more healing spells Gorfan?"

Soryn

Not finding any sort of exit that wasn't obvious, he turned to the triangular rod he held in his hands and attempted to search for something peculiar, some markings or something that he might be able to refer to the cleric or the mage with them.

Gorfan estimates that based on weight and material, this rod is worth 2 GP.

{OOC: Also, keep in mind that Appraise is one of those special skills that the DM needs to roll for you. Next time you want to appraise something, just let me know. I'll roll for you privately.}

Soryn

This rogue could care less about the worth of what he held in his hands while there was so much more treasure perhaps buried within this place. The rogue moved on over to the shelves that were still intact, searching for anything at all that this triangular rod could be used for or something of obvious value on these shelves.

Alo

Once he'd been healed, Alo immediately felt better. He stood up, and stretched as he did, then started having a look around the room. He was mainly looking for books, and as a result he too headed for the shelves. He wouldn't ignore anything that looked interesting or valuable though.

Soryn's search reveals that the shelves along the southern wall are mostly empty. However,there are a few odds and ends wrapped in oilcloth. Mainly worthless junk, but he almost immediately comes across a package that feels heavier than the others. He unwraps it like it was gift wrapped for him, and finds inside a rapier. The rapier appears to be of superb quality and balance. Quite a find, and he hasn't even gotten through the majority of the packages.

Alo

Alo starts at the opposite end of the shelves from Soryn and finds them mostly empty as well. He does find more junk wrapped in oilcloth. One of the cloths holds something circular, and inside, he finds a small steel shield.

{OOC: By Small, I mean suitable size for a halfling or gnome, not the difference between light and heavy steel shield.}

Alo

Alo held up the shield and looked at it. "Its quite small, but it might be worth something I guess." He then put the shield back down on the shelf. He'd pick it up later. On he went with his search

Soryn

These were exactly the kinds of items he was expecting to acquire when he decided to venture into this area. The rapier that was received seemed much better than the one he already had. He contained most of his excitement, however, and simply went on to search again, seeing Alo was searching as well which only prompted him to continue in hopes he'd find things before the spellcaster could.
