Gorfan

Gorfan decided to place the heavy mace within the sphere of his belongings from the loot items that they. As he placed it on his belt, the dwarf noticed a burst of energy shoot out of the ground to throw Soryn to the side...he seemed to have taken some damage, so...he decided his course of action and then decided to cast Cure Light Wounds on the rogue.

Cure Light Wounds cast on Soryn in Foundry (1d8+1=6)

Soryn

The surge causes several expletives to leave the mouth of this rogue who had seriously had doubts about simply placing these rods in before searching for traps. The pentagonal rod caused him that much damage which only prompted him to drop the rectangular one. He was not going to pick it up either. He offered a glare at the cleric out of anger at what was going on, but he sought out that last dose of the font from before while continuing to mumble some obscene words. Before he took a dose, however, he gave one small glance at Gorfan and began to speak. "Perhaps you can help me out...we might need this thing later" He dangled the font in his hands and waited.

While he waited, eventually getting completely healed, he moved to search for the trap itself, attempting to be really cautious.

After receiving healing from the cleric, Soryn gets down to the business of dealing with the trap. He finds that the trap is quite simple really. The rods must be placed in the correct order, or a burst of electricity will shoot through anyone standing on the metal tiles in front of the forge.

Placing them in the correct order will disarm the trap. Clearly, Triangle, Pentagram, Square is not the proper order.

The rods eject as the trap resets itself.

Soryn

Still in a fit of anger, especially now at the simplicity of the trap, he sighs before picking up the rectangular/square rod and placing it first before the pentagonal one (I assume it was knocked out of its impression or something). The rectangular one being the only other one they could try, he moves to press in the other rod and awaits a hopefully entertaining result.

((OOC: You never said that the Triangle one was moved out. You just said that there was a click sound when it was placed in so I assume it was still there. Given there is only three, the only other alternative was what went on...I'm confused!))

EDIT: Now after rereading your post after searching of traps I see the rods were ejected. I dont know if I missed that or it wasn't there when I read it the first time but I was assuming the Triangle one was in already. then square...then pentagon LOL *sighs then shrugs*

{OOC: Do you see on the bottom of the screen where it says 'Last edited' on your post? That shows that your post has been edited. If you see on my post, there is no such timestamp, meaning it has not been edited.

The part about the rods popping out has been there since the beginning. I'm afraid I have to go by what I posted and you posted. You said Square first, then Pentagon, so I had to assume the triangle was last. Sorry, bro.

Oh, and I didn't put this in, but I figure you can assume that the rods were ejected again after this try as well. All three of them.}

Soryn

It had been obvious to him that the triangle had been first from the start but how the order had been placed on the forge in any other manner was beyond his comprehension. Drinking what was left with the dosage from the font did nothing to heal an already bruised ego.

Heal Check Font = 1

The rods were placed Triangle, Square, Pentagon soon after.

Soryn

Soryn places each rod into place, and as he places the last one, he is greeted with a new surprise. Instead of an electric shock, the forge and furnace start to sink. They reveal a vault hidden behind them.

The Vault is a small recess into the wall. There are several wrapped items in the space.

{OOC: Dunno how you knew the triangle was first the whole time...but good job.

Everyone gets 225 XP for getting past the trap.}

HP:5

Still being cautious, he searches for any more traps within that recess and if he finds none, moves toward the vault area to find what is there.

((OOC: He placed the triangular rod in their the first time when he found it and nothing happened, its only natural for him to assume that after finding out it requires order and he got shocked when he put the pentagonal one there.))

{OOC: well, not quite right, but eh... we'll go with it.}

Inside the vault, Soryn finds that the packages are coated with dust. Everything here seems to be hundreds of years old.

Inside the wrappings, he finds the following:

- sack of 100 Sovereigns
- sack of 100 Galifars
- 4 gold ingots
- 4 potions, unidentified
- 1 map
- 1 schema

Soryn

Much of what he could not discern was left for the mage and the cleric.
What was of main interest to the man lied within the currency found and he quickly attempted to pocket some of it so that there would only appear to be around 95 or 90 Galifars. Sleight of Hand check 1d20+9=11

The rogue uncovered the map and schema along with the potions and automatically decided that they were better left to the cleric who seemed more knowledgeable about these things given the fact he discerned what the font was before. "Lets see if we can make use of these"

The rogue uncovered the gold ingots and slid over a sack that seemed to hold some Sovereigns.

"These should serve us well in the future"

The potions had already been uncovered for Gorfan to study as well as the map and schema unless Alo decided to take a look at it on his own.

Soryn will still have the sack of Galifars near him and if first check was successful then he will attempt one more before he will uncover them...trying to leave the amount of Galifars up to 85 or 80 if he is successful

{OOC: I am not going to tell you whether they beat your check or not. You just have to judge that based on their reactions.

Don't forget to add these things to your character sheet.}

You pocket another bit of coins.

Alo

There is indeed a map, and picking it up, you can see that it has many strange symbols on it.

Alo

Alo shook his head and rolled the map up. "I cannot make head nor tail of these symbols. Perhaps with more time, and access to a library."

{OOC: Well, no word from Magus in far too long. I can only assume he's been abducted by aliens who are probing him anally. Jai, get your arse in here and play his character.

Rah, please make your presence known as well. Just grunt or something every so often so we know you are keeping up.}
