Warforged

The warforged takes a step to the side, using the corner of the stairwell for cover as he reaches into his pouch and withdraws an oily substance. Quickly, he applies this oil to his wounds and they magically begin to mend themselves. The Warforged is still damaged, but looks ready to engage Ahlias again. "I see you have choosen death. I will take the journal from your dead hands, soft-skin!"

Round 2

Initiative:
Kyru - 28
Valves - 20
Ahlias - 19
Amnile - 17
Shifters - 12
Alo - 9
Gorfan - 5
Warforged - 4

Kyru

Kyru turns and moves around to try and flank the Shifter with Amnile, then draws his weapon to prepare for an attack.

Valves

Unfortunately for Kyru, as he readies himself, The valve that was directly next to him opens and fires a stream of water that sweeps Kyru off his feet. He is now prone next to the shifter.

{OOC: Ahlias, your turn}

Ahlias' strike clangs against the corner of the stairwell, which the Warforged is using for extra protection.

Shifters

Amnile's attempt to stun the Shifter doesn't work as he fails to connect with his attack.

The #2 Shifter takes a step away from Amnile and drives his claws into the soft belly flesh of Kyru, ripping his guts out in a gory display of ferocity. The water of the sewers is soon stained with blood, in addition to everything else that filters down here. Kyru has no chance to survive.

The #3 Shifter snores softly in the sewage, helpless at the moment.

{OOC: P.S. No Attack of Opportunity was offered because there was none given. A 5 ft step gives no AoO, and he was behind cover when he did the rest, so no AoO}

Alo's attack hits, and the Shifter looks up from his disemboweling to focus on the wizard. He's hurt, but not out of it yet.

{OOC: Gorfan's turn.}

Gorfan
HP: 10/10
AC: 16(T:10, FF:16)

Gorfan looks briefly in horror at the disembowling of Kyru by the shifter and the damage done was noted....he would need some more healing spells soon enough with that shifter and warforged still upright.

Warforged

The Warforged takes a 5 ft step back to his previous position, so the corner of the stairwell doesn't provide Ahlias with any protection and attacks again. This time, his rapier pierces Ahlias through his armor. 3 Piercing Dmg

Round 3

Initiative:
Valves - 20
Ahlias - 19
Amnile - 17
Shifters - 12
Alo - 9
Gorfan - 5
Warforged - 4

{OOC: One shifter (3) is asleep, but unwounded. The other shifter (2) and the warforged (1) are both wounded.}

Valves

Another valve farther down the hall opens and spurts a jet of water into the sewers.

{OOC: Ahlias's Turn}

Ahlias
HP: 4/12
AC: 13

Ahlias takes the hit and grimaces. He's bleeding through his leather now, but the Warrior can't no how extensive those wounds might be. His mind is blocked by rage and the pain is unknown to him.

Ahlias isn't stupid, and as the Warforged peaks back around the stairwell, Ahlias positions himself to strike as soon as the Warforged leaps back out for another attack.

Readied Action: Attack when Warforged emerges from cover to strike.

---

Attack details, just so SJ can resolve them if need be:

Attack Roll: 1d20+5 -> [14,5] = (19)

Damage Roll: 2d6+4 -> [6,3,4] = (13)

---

After the attack, Ahlias will position himself in partial defense (+2 to AC), with his second partial action.

AC: 15

Amnile

Amnile swings his fist at the shifter, but misses and hits a metal pipe instead and bruises his fist. 1 non-lethal damage

Shifter

The last remaining shifter uses the opportunity to turn and run. He's decided he wants nothing else to do with these people.

{OOC: The punching a pipe was the result of rolling a critical 1. Amnile gets an Attack of Opportunity as the Shifter tries to flee.}

The end...

With a swift kick, the last shifter topples face-first into the muck on the floor of the sewers as he turns to flee.

Near Ahlias, the ruined warforged emits a series of ticks before a small part of it detaches, much like the warforged on the bridge, and flies off up the stairwell.

{OOC: Everyone who's still alive, give yourself 225 XP for the battle, and an extra 25 XP for excellent role playing so far. You guys have all done really well.

Combat has ended. You may all act freely. No need for initiative and such.}

Alo

Alo shouted when he saw his friend lying in the murky water of the sewer. The elf's blood was flowing away down the tunnel, and there looked to be no hope left.

"Kyru!" Alo exclaimed and dropped to his knees. He tried to do something, anything, to help, but there was nothing he could do. His friend was already dead...

Loss

Ahlias rose out of his battle rage and immediately knew that something wasn't quite right. He watched the small robotic piece slip off of the dead Warforged and buzz off, and Ahlias knew he couldn't do anything to stop it.

Then Gorfan was there, easing the pain of his wounds and stopping the dripping blood flow. Ahlias nodde to the good dwarf. "Thank you Gorfan...but..."

He noticed the expression on the dwarfs face and moved past him down the stairwell. Ahlias felt sick at the sight he saw, of Kyru laying the sludge. He turned his head in sadness and said nothing for a moment.

He hadn't trusted Kyru, nor did he know him all that well, but the first life of the adventure had been lost. Ahlias understood that this might be a bit more serious than he had previousely thought.

"We should get moving soon..." was all the Warrior could manage.

"A machine is attaching itself to warforges in order to kill us over a book we don't have. Kyru is dead, and witrhout a rouge we have no counter to traps or locks. And there is a sleeping shifter about to wake up pissed any minute," the human said pointing to the fallen shifter. "Do we want to continue?" he asks his companions.

Gorfan
HP:10/10
AC:14 (T:10, FF:14)

Gorfan, upon accepting thanks from Alhias for healing him somewhat, notices that the elf Kyru, the rogue, had fallen and was beyond recall from the halls of death lest one had a Wish spell on them. The goodly dwarven cleric shook his head sadly at this waste of life, but knew that they should move on sooner or later...however, there was the matter of the sleeping shifter to see to.

"Indeed we should be moving on," Gorfan said agreeing with the warrior," we shall let this shifter have it's sleep or we'll dispose of him somehow to prevent him from waking and pursuing us"
