Fortus

Fortus examines Slade. He doesn't check for a pulse or breathing. He knows these things would be absent. Instead, he checks for things like oil pressure, and any presence of magical energies, or decay from the body. Warforged bodies are known to decay very rapidly, once they die.

Fortus concludes that Slade is still alive, but the fall inflicted so much damage that it left him completely inert and helpless.

Fortus

The artificer, upon his inspection, turned to the rest of the party with a grim look within his eyes. The news would be somewhat expected, but otherwise it would need to be said...

"Upon my inspection of Slade's parts, oil pressure and decay he is still alive as well as stable and can still be saved with some healing...Hazrad, I am out of infusions that I can do for today but healing on your part can heal Slade back to life again"

Mohan

Mohan unshouldered his bow and looked to Jaiden. "We should keep watch whilst they do their work. It would not do for us all to die saving Slade."

(Area 15)

Mohan and Jaiden stand guard while Fortus and Hazrad go to work on Slade. With the assistance of Fortus, Hazrad is able to put his magics to good use. Within moments, the crystals that serve as eyes for Slade spark as he returns to consciousness.

{OOC: Slade was at -5. Because your healing works for half, you should have brought him to -1, but because Fortus is working with you, I'll let you round up instead of down. That puts Slade at 0. Still Disabled, and only able to take standard actions, but in no risk of further injury, because he's a warforged.}

Slade

He did not need to breathe...did not need to eat. He had fallen into the hole after his own hasty actions. Where was he now, however? In a stream of unconsciousness? Or had he finally joined together with the Silver Flame? Was he finally one with the supreme entity?

He saw what seemed like a light ahead of him but before he could even attempt to discern what it was, he saw Fortus and Hazrad above him. The warforged remained on the ground and adjusted himself in a comfortable position. All he could muster was the simple question of "Where am I?"

Mohan

"A chamber below the sarcophagus room. The floor collapsed and you fell down. Good to have you back with us."

Fortus

The artificer nodded also and said further,"For the time being you're back to the world of the waking, but taking any aggressive action at this time would still be fine due to you being warforged...so you're in decent shape all things considered..."

Hazrad

"We as a whole however, aren't going so well. I only have the ability to mend any wounds once more, and it's not through a way I like to heal. Fortus also is reduced in options. Slade is still heavily damaged and in need of repair.
As well, due to our unpreparedness, we could well do with more supplies...Specifically rope, and more light sources. I, for one, suggest returning to the decrepit house, rest for the night, and then return to Diamond Lake to gather supplies. I could definitely use the time to pray for more useful abilities from the Host than the incantations I receive everyday."

The halfling was hesitant to resume progress at the moment, for obvious reasons. Their group was not in condition to proceed forwards.

Jaiden

As much as her curiosity would have loved to send her forward to figure out more puzzles that could kill them, she had to agree with Hazrad. She nodded. "It would be a good time to get supplies for myself, as I have none."

Fortus

The artificer nodded and said,"Indeed it would be madness to endeavour further on into this cairn with what little useful supplies that we have. I would appreciate the chance of recovering my infusions with rest and perhaps acquiring more supplies in Diamond Lake as well as paying a visit to my master Allustan also..."

Slade

"I can certainly attempt..."

Who knew what would happen if he fell though? He knew that he was in definite need of repair and he felt as if he was simply running by the will of the Silver Flame. Perhaps he'd get up there without fail...

The group all manages to climb the wall easily (assuming everyone takes 10). Of course, it takes Slade quite some time because of his injuries, but he makes it eventually.

They leave the Cairn for the moment and return to the abandoned office building. The place is still in ruins, and unlikely to provide much rest without some cleanup.

Mohan

Mohan cleared the kitchen's fire pit then lit a fire in the hearth, so they would at least have warmth whilst they rested.

"Well then. We should agree on which provisions we, as a group will need. Rope and torches I would suggest to begin with."

Kitchen

Mohan clears the pit of old debris and ash, and puts some fresh fuel for the fire then. Within moments, he has it lit and providing warmth.

Unfortunately, the room is filled with smoke in barely a minute. Mohan must've forgotten that when building a fire inside, the smoke doesn't dissipate, or else didn't notice that the chimney for this decrepit building is completely clogged up.

Mohan

Mohan kicked the fire out and then laughed. "I think we may need to make a good deal of repairs before this is a useful home base. I will make a fire outside, then we can sleep under the stars."

Outside the abandoned office

Mohan quickly gets a fire going. The sun is just starting to dip behind the mountains to the far west, and the warmth from the fire pushes back the cool air of the oncoming night.

There is still plenty of debris littering the yard, and not a lot of room to stretch out and sleep yet.

Jaiden

It was improbable that they would be able to rest with the condition of the outside. As such Jaiden began to clean up the debris, enough that they would all have room to rest. She spends 2 hours doing this.
