Jaiden climbs down. She finds the decent to be supremely easy. If the rest choose to not go with, they will need a separate light source to see anything other than Jaiden and her surroundings down the hole.

(Area 15)

Jaiden, and any who choose to go with her, reaches the bottom of the pit after climbing down about 60 feet.

There is a pile of rubble and debris at the bottom of the climb. Partially buried there is Slade. He is not moving.

The room you are in has walls lined with dozens of bas-relief figures similar to the one on the sarcophagus lid in the room above. They stare disapprovingly from the walls here. Many sport crossed arms and stern expressions. A few of the statues' heads are missing, and some have huge chunks torn out of them. Others have a wierd melted appearance, as if they'd been sprayed by something terrible. A large glyph that looks like a stylized arrow points down a short corridor to the north that leads to a four-way intersection.

Jaiden

Her focus wasn't on the statues, nor of the surrounding clues to their next destination. Her focus was on the being half-hidden beneath rubble. Making sure not to step on him, she stepped over the rubble until she found solid footing where it wouldn't slip beneath her weight. Kneeling down beside Slade she attempted to heal him.

Heal Check (1d20+1=7)

Obviously not being the type to be able to do that, she waited for the next person to join her at the bottom of the pit, and hopefully be able to help her with Slade.

Fortus

The artificer looked upon Jaiden with some apprehension as she began to descend down the hole...as if anticipating the coming about of a nameless menace from below. Fortus had seen many a hole near the mineshafts of Diamond Lake, but this large crack in the earth where Slade had met his fate in was large enough to make him somewhat wary. As if in readiness, tbe student of Allustan infused his crossbow with flaming with the infusion personal weapon augmentation.

Upper level

Fortus begins infusing his crossbow with the last of his magical energy for today. It takes him quite awhile to complete, but when he does, his crossbow now fires flaming bolts. Of course, this power won't last forever.

Mohan

Mohan was tempted to climb down as well, but first he spoke.

"Do we have a rope? We may need to lift Slade back up."

Hazrad

Shaking his head, he looked around. "I have no rope, you have any light?

He shook his head....he should have joined Jaiden down....

Fortus

"I have some rope that can be used" Fortus announced as he produced some rope from his backpack," but I shall need to brace the top end of the rope around something..."

Mohan

"of course. I wonder if it will reach from the sarcophagus to the bottom of the pit. Then we should bring Slade back up and leave. I think we should head back in to town and return with more supplies, torches, ropes and the like."

Hazrad

Although there is no rope, the halfling finds that he can easily climb down the wall as well. He almost slips at one point, but he quickly finds that he can brace against the side walls to make the climb that much easier, and within a few moments, he is down with Jaiden and Mohan.

Fortus

Again, though there is no rope, Fortus makes the decent easily enough simply by using the natural foot and handholds, and bracing against the opposite wall. Now, everyone is down below.

Fortus

Fortus made it down to the bottom easily enough and joined the others who were standing near Slade who seemed to be as dead as the lid of the sarcophogus above. The artificer made his way to the side of the warforged and attempted to see if the spirit of Slade's life still flickered in his constructed body...

Untrained Craft check on Slade. (1d20+2=19)
