There was no verbal gratitude offered, but the opportunity to return the favor immediately came to him as he saw Saber move to attack the cleric. Almost as if he had been waiting for this for a long time, he grips the hilt of his rapier with full force and steps into the fray (five foot step south to face Saber and flank da foo)

Soryn just barely misses on a weak point in Saber's armor, that could've finally given him an edge in this combat against the warforged.

Gorfan begins casting a spell, but Saber, seeing an opportunity to attack, strikes the dwarf, and cuts him down before he can complete his healing magics. (10 dmg)

Seeing the disadvantage that Saber was now in, he lowered his guard and swung his blade towards the exposed back of Saber, pouring his strength into the blow. (OOC: Out of defensive fighting)

He turns back to Brass and again, brings his blade down at the fighter. Fortunately for Brass, his armor holds up against the blow this time.

This rogue figured he would try again now that Brass moved to attack Saber again. Everyone seemed to convene together to attack for once and he hoped his Rapier would strike true this time.

His companions were starting to have more success now, so Alo decided to save the remainder of his spells for the time being. Instead he pulled out his sling, slipped a bullet from his pouch into it, and tried to hurl it at Saber.

The dwarf reeled and fell unconscious after Saber tought the cleric a lesson in not casting a spell in very close vicinity of one's enemy. Gorfan wished to stablise as quickly as possible...but would he do this the long or short way?

He had noticed that the dwarf had fallen, and that the human across from him was looking pale. It was likely that neither the Human or Brass himself could take another hit, while that funny looking human gave up on spells to try something else. They were at a tactical advantage, but for how long?

Gorfan struggled in a state of semi-consciousness...the cleric had stabilised somewhat but was still in another world.

The rogue wasted no time, now with Gorfan incapacitated, he knew they needed to end this and now. Trusting in his rapier, he lunged another attack, hoping to pierce the armor yet again.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like it works out well this time around and he moves back to better prepare (5ft step to the north and away from Saber)

How had his companions and the warforged gone from being on the verge oif victory to this in such a short time. Alo dropped his sling and pulled out another scroll of magic missile. Once again he cast it and sent the magical bolt of energy towards Saber.

End Battle

Alo's final blast of magic strikes against Saber, and the construct appears to cease functioning.

Brass, brings the blade around and appears to be about to shove the point directly through Saber's head, when he realizes that Saber has stopped moving.

Reaching out a hand, he pushes one thick finger against Saber's forehead, and Saber collapses backwards, finally defeated.

Realizing that Alo has helped them best Saber, he moves up to the corpse of the construct and kicks it for good measure. "Its about time"

His elation due to the victory ended quickly however as he motioned to Alo "Tend to Gorfan, you will help him better than I can"

At this point, he looked at Brass who was the new entry and immediately addressed him. "So are we to be stuck with you now?" There was no hatred or spite involved in that question, but it was easy to see that despite Brass' aid, he wasn't completely trusted just yet by this rogue.

Lady Elaydren emerges from her hiding place. "Brass, you are relieved of your duty as my protector. Your new mission is to aid these three to the best of your abilities.

There is a potion for your dwarf-friend in the left pocket. More assassins may show up at any moment. All the information you need is in the left pocket of the backpack. Take it and go! Get out of the city as quickly as you can!"

Before anything else can be said, she picks up a spear from one of the downed kobolds and leaves the tavern, darting into the streets and disappearing into the nearest alleyway.
