Sharn, City of Towers

It has been several days since you delivered the heirloom to Lady d'Vown. Several times, you've stopped at the Barmin Tower message station as requested but so far no messages have been left for you so far.

You've lived quite comfortably on the reward from House Cannith. The three of you have managed to bond slightly more over the passage of time.

Today, there is an air of excitement and looming adventure in the air. Whether this premonition is some prelude of things to come, or just a reaction to the change in the weather will only be revealed with time.

As you step outside of your lodgings, the sound of thunder rumbles far in the distance, and reminds you of the rains that came through the night. The walkways are still slick and wet. Its not raining at the moment, but the weather changes faster in Sharn than a changeling changes faces.

The days since they had returned that schema to the sincere Lady d'Vown of House Cannith had passed by rather uneventfully, apart from bonding over a few ales with Soryn and Alo and wondering at what fate might have in store for them. As ale and good beef filled him, he knew with a warm assuredness that while Boldrei was smiling upon them everything in Sharn and within the world itself was more or less alright. However, Gorfan knew that fortunes turned as easily as one turns a door knob on a house.

Gorfan paced to and fro outside his lodgings..which went by the name of 'The Thirsty Minstrel'. The cleric gazed around him and perceived the usual signs of life at the early hours of life in a city such as Sharn. A few travellers hurrying through anxious to be going early before the streets became somewhat more crowded and people heading on various personal errands. He then caught the sound of thunder to his ears. Indeed, as the dwarf looked in the direction of the thunder, it seemed that the weather was turning the first time since they arrived at the city some few days hence.

After handing lady d'Vown the schema, he had enjoyed profiting off of his own fortune of meeting the group of adventurers within the bowels of Sharn. His decision to join them ended up benefiting him greatly in the end and where there was profit there was sure to be some sort of attraction from this rogue. Because of this, it was not hard for him to acquaint himself with Alo and Gorfan as he saw great opportunities when allied with these two. The ales they shared and the small conversations they held were enough to create a strong bond albeit a very shady one when it came to this rogue here. No person of sound mind would imagine that having a rogue as a companion would be an honest endeavour now right? This was very evident with the several attempts to swindle or coax others around the newly formed trio to hand over their wares or focus on something else while his nimble hands and fingers would move to gain profit from their lack of attention. Though there were very very few successes, Soryn was never discouraged...ever.

Luck or perhaps fate would have it so that 'The Thirsty Minstrel' had been this rogue's choice for lodging as well. He always tended to wake up early, the morning full of groggy wanderers who were more prone to his antics. He had already exited before Gorfan, standing quite a bit away as he began to walk before he heard that thunder. He didn't remember there having ever been a change of weather here before during his stay in the earlier days. He was not one for omens, however, and thought nothing of it. He created his own luck after all! A brief look back caused him to spot Gorfan but he simply turned to face the cleric and began to look around. Perhaps today he'd cash in something more valuable than the small earnings he usually obtains.

Alo had spent the last few days divided between spending time with Gorfan and Soryn, and reading in the library. So far he'd not tried to help himself to any of the books, but there were some very nice ones. On this day he walked back into the Inn, once more as Alosoleth and took a seat with Gorfan.

"Is Soryn not joining you?" He asked with a glance to the rogue.

"Our rogue seems to be looking to the day ahead...and is probably wondering, like myself, about the thunder and the change in the weather bringing about further changes for us..."

The sight of the cleric and the spellcaster together made this all seem far too coincidental. How they had all convened on to this spot only to witness that change might have sparked the curiousity of others but he immediately discarded any sort of looming thought or idea of impending danger. He finally made an effort to close in on the two and figured he'd at least say something now that they had all come together here for some unknown but uncared for reason right now.

"What are you two going to be doing today?"

"I had thought to check for news at the message station, and if there was still nothing to be done, spend the day practicing some new spells. What had you in mind for the day?"

"Coincidence that I was headed to the message station myself. As for the rest of the day's events, I will assume its better for both of you not to know"

A flashy smirk was all the two needed to realize that was the truth. After all, a rogue didn't need to disclose everything now did he?

Gorfan

Gorfan noted the smirk upon the face of the rogue and knew that Soryn seemed to have other 'errands' in mind for the day other visiting the message station. At any rate, the cleric knew what the day held for him...it was simple but yet satisfying in its own way.

"You have your own business to attend to I guess Soryn, no harm in that...I guess.." Gorfan paused slightly gazing intently at the rogue..and then continued," a visit to the message station shall also be on my ports of call for today, and maybe some meditation as well as some good victuals to follow"

Despite the fact that he still enjoyed travelling alone, the company of Gorfan and Alo had become somewhat of a commonality nowadays. If they all needed to go to the message station, then they might as well head out together for the time being no?

"Lets head over to the station then"

He began to walk in the direction of where he knew the station was, not expecting anything but never unappreciative of a possible opportunity.

Barmin Tower, Outside the Sivis Message Station

As promised, the rain begins coming down as you make your way towards the Message Station. Waterfalls spill over the slanted rooftops and balcony railings. Ahead, the door to the Sivis message station hangs open at a strange angle, one of its hinges seperated from the doorframe. Lightning flashes and you think you can hear a groan from somewhere inside the otherwise quiet shop...

The rain that came upon them was comforting to this rogue who usually enjoyed the atmosphere because it was much easier to move around unnoticed. They held no advantage this time, however, as they moved toward the station and came across the door which was oddly positioned. He was not going to simply walk in...especially after the groan that he heard. Instead he moved near the door and simply aimed to nudge the door open with his foot while remaining as far away from the opening as he could get. The gaze he offered Alo and Gorfan was enough to let them know they should be cautious. What was going on? He'd eventually move to take a look inside as cautiously as possible.

Barmin Tower, Inside Sivis Message Station

The tables and stools inside the message station are in disarray; some are overturned or smashed, others have been forcefully scattered from their usual places. From behind the counter, lying atop a spilled shelf of scrolls and parchment sheets, is the gnome clerk who runs the station. She moans, unconcious, but apparently still alive.

Upon seeing the gnome clerk fallen upon the spilled shelf of scrolls, he furrowed his brows and then began to slowly make his way in, stopping at the threshold of the establishment to look around. It was obvious that someone had come here with bad intentions, but what would bring someone to attack a simple message station? After the inspection, if nothing noticeable was seen he'd make his move on over to the messenger simply to check if any lethal damage had been done.

Soryn

Soryn's cursory inspection reveals an array of sling stones scattered around the room. Near a vial of spilled ink, there are several small clawed footprints, which seem to belong to at least 2 individuals of the same humanoid species.

{OOC: Let me know if you still intend to head over to the gnome or not.}

Alo

Alo went through the door after Soryn, and headed for the gnome. He crouched down next to her and tried to see how she was.

He stays back, near the threshold of the door after looking at the small footprints. He would not dream of entering first as he had the first time he joined up with Alo and the rest. Alot of good that did him then and he assumed it would not do him any good just yet. Motioning over to the other two, he stepped to the left to give them space to enter as he attempted to trail the prints he did see.
