"I am sure Alo here would love to know who had a message for him dont you think? I'm sure you can make an exception."

After all, the woman might not have been well off if they hadn't gotten here right? What harm was there in informing them of that...especially with the intended recipient of the message standing right there beside them?

Diplomacy Check 1d20-1 = 0

However, who could truly trust a rogue nowadays?!

{OOC: horrible roll FTL!}

"Hmmf! I take my duties very seriously, and I couldn't possibly give him information which might be private, while you are eavesdropping." She seems to be downright offended at the very thought of giving out this information.

Soryn

"We travel together frequently, hence why you see us together right now. There is hardly much that we do not know of one another. If you could disclose the info to us, we could at least offer a donation to help you with the damage caused by those terrible intruders."

After getting shut down harshly, he attempted to weasel his way into getting the info necessary since Alo seemed to be a bit distracted for some reason. One last chance to find this all out.

Barmin Tower, Sivis Message Station

The lady looks around at the damage. She seems to be considering it. Very quietly she says 'Come to think of it, they really don't pay me to clean this place up.

What kind of donation are we talking about here?"
She looks at Alo, while directing the question to Soryn. She wants to be sure that Alo is indeed ok with the information being shared among all 3 of you.

Soryn

"How much do you think you will need?"

Yes this was a dangerous question to ask but he quickly asked another question after rummaging through his own pouch. He wasn't going to truly sacrifice much of his own money to do this if it was something Alo needed to hear. It was all being done in the wizard's best interest.

"How does 4 Galifars sound?"

He wondered what the woman valued these reparations at...but aimed low for now.

Soryn

He pretended to rummage around his pouch as if he intended on actually considering it but he just frowned and spoke "I'm short on funds as it is but are you two willing to part with yours?"

His stare was mainly given at Alo who could simply save them from having to give a donation altogether as he should rightfully know who was sending him a message...that is unless the woman somehow had the guts to continue to bargain after the fact. People these days.

The clerk seems to think it over for a moment before finally giving in. "Alright. It was from Lady Elaydren d'Cannith. But I honestly don't remember what it was about."

Alo

"Thank you. You really were very helpful. Erm.. here.. have a couple of these for the trouble." He said and took a random number of galifars from his purse, it turned out to be three, and offered them to her.

Soryn

Since Alo had spoken up, he casually began to walk away, figuring they have gotten all they needed to get out of the gnome and this place. He would probably be the first to step outside, the rain not bothering him whatsoever. He'd wait for the other two to follow him and figured that Alo would say something soon.

Alo

Alo smiled to the gnome "goodbye. I hope you don't get in too much trouble for the mess," he said and then followed Soryn out.

"I think that means we have two choices," he said "we either need to find the kobalds, or we go to see the Lady who sent the message."

Soryn

"I believe the easiest route would be to find the Lady who sent you the message. There is no telling where these kobolds went."

He hadn't heard Alo speak much during their last endeavour, and he honestly couldn't recall when he had had a long conversation with the wizard but perhaps his memory was simply a bit shotty today. Having given his opinion on what they should do, motivated by a certain feeling that this was something too important to pass up, he waited to see what the others decided upon.

Alo

"I think you are right. She said the kobalds were with a large cloaked man. The last person I saw that looked like that was a warforged, and I've seen enough of them for now."

{OOC: Going to ask you guys to hold here to make sure that Gorfan didn't have anything else he wanted to do before initiating the next scene. We've covered quite a bit of time.}

Gorfan

(OOC: Indeed, you guys and your timezone differences  )

Gorfan paused as he was about to follow the others out of the station. He turned back to face the gnome woman once again and knew that more needed to be said.

"Thanks for your information regarding your assailants, it is indeed much appreciated," Gorfan said regarding her steadily with his greyish eyes," and do try to get yourself something good to take repast upon...eating and drinking as well as healing by the Sovereign Host does one the world of good from my experience...but good day to you!"

Barmin Tower

The rain seems to slack off as you walk away from the message station. Around a tower bend, at least a dozen people mill about on a partially covered terrace. A gang of children splashes in the puddles near a curving wall, laughing merrily. A merchant pushes an empty card, presumably returning from the market exchange. A guard of the Sharn Watch looks the crowd over from his place beneath a shop awning.

A blur of feathers suddenly rockets towards you out of the cloud-filled sky. Its a giant ow, and it circles once before tipping the satchel it carries in its talons to drop a scroll case at your feet.

Gorfan

Gorfan walked along non-commitally through and around the puddles covering the streets near the Barmin Tower as the rain ceased almost entirely. The owl that had flown by was assumedly a messenger owl of sorts, but the scroll that had broken the continuity of their journey to Lady d'Cannith's residence lay before them upon the ground and the cleric instinctually knew that this scroll most probably contained important tidings for himself and his companions.

Gorfan leaned down and picked up the scroll case and turned it over in his large hands. Looking toward his companions, the dwarf says,"My feeling is that this Lady d'Cannith knows we are on our way to her, or from someone completely unknown to us...but there's no harm in opening it" With that, Gorfan opens the scroll case and reads the scroll.

The scrollcase contains, of all things, a scroll.
