Brass

....Continuing his flailing wasn't getting him anywhere. Literally.

Swim!! (1d20-6=6)

Quietly he stops his flailing and prepares to go submersible...Atleast if this well wasn't bottomless, he could eventually walk to a wall and perhaps climb it.

Soryn

What he saw was definitely not a good sight. The heavy warforged somehow managed to keep himself afloat but was having trouble doing anything else.

He wondered if he had enough strength to help him along but he couldn't let their tank of a companion simply clunk down into the water.

Returning to the haversack, he moved to take the hemp rope out and wondered if it would be of enough length to toss to the warforged.

Rotator Room 3 (W18)

Soryn pulls out a rope, ready to toss it down the well. The well seems shallow enough for the rope to reach.

Brass lets himself sink, and he finds that the water goes down about 20 ft.

{OOC: At this point, I think we should stop and wait to see if Gorfan succeeds on the balance check before going forward.}

Alo

Alo went back to his studies, and briefly wondered what foolishness his companions would find themselves in.

Rotator Room 3

The room moves, and Gorfan, even though he can see, finds that his armor makes it difficult for him to shuffle his feet in time to keep from toppling over. The momentum of the room rotating causes him to roll into the well, landing with a splash. (3 dmg nonlethal) Two of the three companions have fallen into the dangerous trap...

{OOC: Swim check, Gorfan.}

Rotator Room 3

Gorfan kicks his stubby feet, and he keeps his head afloat.

In a moment, he can see Soryn 20 ft above, holding a sunrod and looking down on them.

Farther below, Brass is suddenly aware of a bright light filtering through the water. He also sees Gorfan's figure swimming up at the surface.

Soryn

What was he going to do with these two? He hoped Gorfan would come up first that way he could make bringing Brass up that much easier. He looked to see if there was something he could wrap this rope around for stability and eventually get that cleric up there.

Soryn ties a good firm knot and tosses the end of the rope down the hole. Gorfan can easily reach, but the length of rope floats on the surface, making it hard to for Brass to reach.

{OOC: Climb check DC 5 to climb out. Should be able to take 10, once you reach the rope.}

Gorfan

The cleric manages to reach the rope that Soryn had thrown down and began to climb it out of the hole to solid ground.

"Many thanks for throwing down the rope for us...lets just hope Brass can make it to the rope" Gorfan said while still puffing a bit from the climb.

((Take 10 on Climb check))

Once Gorfan got back up, he spoke quickly "How do you suppose we get Brass out of there? Did he sink to the bottom?"

Gorfan

"Brass didn't sink to the bottom, as I was near him and he seemed to be down below me undewater.." Gorfan stared down into the well for a moment and his darkvision could make out the warforged's shape underwater.

"From what I can see Brass is trying to climb one of the walls underwater to get to the rope...time will tell if he's successful"

As he was saying this, Gorfan thought that they would need to tie a weight to the end of the rope in order to get the warforged up to them. The cleric turned to the rogue and asked,"If we could send a weight I do not have anything sufficient unless you count my warhammer...which would be sufficient for bringing up Brass I should think..." At this, Gorfan took out his warhammer and proceeded to get the rope up and tie the warhammer to the end of it.

(Take 10 on Use Rope check)

When Gorfan lowers the weighted end of the rope down into the well, it sinks down to where brass can easily reach it and climb out of the clever trap without much difficulty.

Gorfan watches with satisfaction as the rope with the warhammer at the end of it goes down to retrieve Brass from the depths of the well. Now Brass would soon be rejoining them...
