Gorfan

Gorfan glances around at his companions and knew from the looks of the southern foundry door that their only way out of there was through the hole that some of the party has literally plummeted through.

" The hole we all came through," The cleric remarked while pointing towards the roof,"seems to be thy only way of escape from this place..." Gorfan glanced around at the foundry again and continued," If I can recall correctly, one of us had some rope...was it you Alo?" The dwarf asked of the changeling.

Gorfan

The cleric gazed at the hole in the roof they had initially entered through and judged the distance between himself and the hole. Gorfan concluded in his mind that it was around twenty feet high.

"I would judge the distance from thee to the hole to be around twenty feet from my estimations.."

Alo

"Hmm. There is a spell I can prepare that could double someone's height. That would still leave us short by some distance."

Gorfan

Gorfan nodded at this statement. Was he referring to Enlarge Person? If so, that would help the party somewhat, but could a leap made by any of the elves and humans here make it to the roof...or get him up there for that matter?

A medium character is assumed to be able to reach up to 8 ft vertically. To reach a 20 ft roof, you need to be able to jump 12 ft. With a 20 ft running start, that DC is 48. None of you can make that kind of jump. A large character can reach 16 ft. Still not enough for a 20 ft roof, but a 4 ft jump has a DC of 16, which is possible, but not guaranteed. You still need the 20 ft running start. Without that running start the DC is doubled. There is enough room for such a run inside the foundry.

Assuming you make that jump, you STILL need to make a DC 15 Climb check to pull yourself up when hanging by your hands. This is a very physical task. Good luck to whoever takes it on.

Soryn

Overhearing the conversation between spellcasters, he just listens on and waits for them to figure it out, fiddling with something within his belongings. "Who is the tallest among us?" It was an idle question really...for he could care less if they answered at this moment. What mainly concerned him is how much of a reward they might get.

"Me, I assume!", the warrior stated as he pawed at the wall, as if trying to find a handhold. "Have an idea?"

Perhaps they could double up on each others shoulders? Ahlias could easily hold Alo up and probably even lift him further, but he wouldn't be able to jump to high from such an unbalanced position. It was worth a try. Then whoever got out would have to go and get the rope, and that would probably be Alo, since he alone had the spell necessary to control it.

"Wizard...", Ahlias spoke. "If you can enlarge me with your magic, then I can lift you up and give you some supprt in a jump. This could get you out, maybe, and then you could go and get the rope. It's the best idea I got..." the warrior said with a shrug, not yet hopeless but not liking the odds - especially the odds of poor Alo trudging through the insect-infested chambers alone.

Gorfan

Gorfan was rather nervous about the high distance they would need to cover to actually get themselves out of the foundry. They may well stand on each other's shoulders and attempt to lift each other out that way, as Alhias suggested doing for Alo. Gorfan prepared to begin the task of hefting some of his companions on his sturdy shoulders.

Soryn

The rogue begins to move into the area that he uncovered after the puzzle he just solved, wondering if there was anything else there that he might have missed, letting the others figure their means of departure from this foundry. Eyes searched around for a lever...a button...something easier than what the other three were suggesting. Their plan seemed a bit farfetched anyway.

Gorfan

The cleric caught sight of Soryn in the corner of his eye searching around alone around the place. Surely there was little they had not uncovered?

"We searched the place after we found the schema we were after," Gorfan muttered as he watched Alhias and Alo prepare for enlargement," there should be a way somewhat simpler than a balancing act fit for a fair here..."

With that, the dwarf scratched his beard thoughtfully.

Soryn

Gorfan was right. There should be a much simpler way of exiting this damned foundry and this rogue was intent on finding it instead of participating in a circus act that would most likely just get them all hurt in some way. Alo's idea, while novel, did nothing to convince this rogue of its possibility of success.

((Just to clarify. As I didn't cast all my spells yesterday, I didn't prepare my full complement. Can I use one of my remaining spells per day to prepare Enlarge Person, or do I need to rest))

Soryn

"I would nominate him to try." A hand motioned over to Ahlias, the warrior who seemed ready to attempt anything for this group.

"The lock on the other side, however, might give him a bit of trouble."

While all this was being said, Soryn moved over to the southern wall and conducted a minor search on the area there, perhaps out of forgetfulness or maybe because he actually wanted to find something else. Who ever knew with this rogue?
