Phaeder
HP:6
AC:17

Nothing was said after the lucky attack after the wolf, managing to knock him down. His determination did not waiver and he stood up to initiate his next attack moving toward Ashina and away from the wolves to keep his distance. (5ft step to the SE to the square near Ashina) He decided to aim yet again, to redeem himself after the hasty shot.

Attack Roll against Wolf 3 1d20+5 = 22

Dmg Roll 1d8 = 8

"Need help here!" He hoped his initial assumption that they could all successfully work together was not wrong at all.

Round 2
Continued

As Phaeder gets to his feet, he leaves himself open for an Attack of Opportunity. Both wolves lunge at him, but only one strikes. (3 dmg) Again, the wolf tries to knock Phaeder back to the ground.

{OOC: Another check, DC 18 this time.}

Edit for Colvin: Phaeder gets knocked back down again, but now that he's expecting the attack, he gets back up to his feet, this time without incident.

Enos attacks again, and again, only the first blow lands. Fortunately for him, it seems that the wolf has taken more than he can handle, and the beast collapses from loss of blood.

Sennoth fires, and again, he misses. He seems to be having terrible luck with his bow.

Ashina

HP: 7
AC: 17

Hearing the cry of help from her companion, Ashina allowed her right hand to drop her crossbow, it's full weight now handled completely by her left hand. She reached for her dagger, located on her belt near her right leg. Pulling it out of the sheathe, she balanced it by the tip, using her thumb and index finger to hold it. Having previously dropped to aim the crossbow onto her right knee, she rose, this time using her toes to balance and as she flung the dagger, she rose slightly, adding more strength to the throw by using her whole body, rather than just throwing clumsily from her previous position.

The sweet gush of crimson covered her blade like liquid glory. She barely felt the resistance as it cleared through the flesh of it's victim (wolf #2). The after-effect was even more pleasing as the four-legged beast seemed barely able to stand. It was obvious that it wouldn't take much to end the life of this one. With the determination of Enos spoken with the hollered statement of "For the Glory Of Tyr!", she gambled that the desire of Enos would overcome the wounded animal and he would succeed. Therefore, rather than advancing as well upon the wolf, she turned. Still wielding her Halberd she advanced back towards the other three fighters and two wolves. Her primary intention was locked onto the idea of surprising wolf #3 by charging it from behind while it was busy advancing onto Phaeder. With one swipe of the Halberd she would attempt to rip the right hind leg from beneath the animal at the ankle's joint. Her intention was simple: the sharp swipe mixed with momentum would slam into the joint of the animal. Her arc of strength would lift the animal by it's hind leg with the blade still infused in the flesh and then, to finish the swipe with the completed ideal haven torn the hind leg from the beast and also flung it out into the open and away from Phaeder.

Ashina draws her dagger and flicks it directly into the shoulder of the wolf nearest her (4).

The wolf then turns his attention to the halfling and pounces her. Fortunately, the halfling's reflexes are quick, and she nimbly avoids getting bitten.

The other wolf continues to harrass Phaeder, but luck finally starts to turn for him, as his armor protects him from further damage.

At that point, the barbarian comes to the rescue! Another rending attack is delivered by the halberd Serenity wields, and the wolf cries out in painful agony. She doesn't quite take the leg off, but the wound is deep enough that you can see the white bones holding the mongrel in one piece.

This ranger was angered..partially by the fact he had been attacked so many time but more so by the fact he had done nothing to aid his new companions. In this fit of anger he tossed his bow to the ground, stepped to his right to flank the wolf that attacked him, unsheathed his longsword and swung (5 ft step to the east to flank Wolf #3)

Sennoth
HP: 4/4, AC: 12 (VT:12, FF:12)

The bow wasn't working, and he didn't want to waste too many arrows. "Time for some art." He said and spoke an arcane command whilst he focussed himself. That bloodline of his did the work, and a ball of green acidic goup formed in his free hand. The magic protected him and he threw it underarm at the wolf nearest (4).

As the wolf attacked, Ashina was prepared and dove to the side. Unfortunately, in the process of trying to avoid being eaten, she lost her crossbow. It fell to the ground directly between the front paws of the wolf (4). Pissed off now, Ashina pulled her shortsword, her one remaining weapon, from its scabbard on her right hip. Gripping the sword with both hands, she drove the point of the sword toward the wolf's (4) soft belly, all of her slight weight thrown into the thrust.

Round 3
Continued

Phaeder sidesteps to flank the wolf with Serenity, increasing her chances further of ending its threat to the townsfolk, but sadly, he doesn't do any damage himself.

Enos moves towards the wolf, not charging, since Serenity is in the way, but he does gain the benefit of flanking with Phaeder. Sadly, it still isn't enough to score a hit, as the wily wolf evades both stabs.

Sennoth, on the other hand, seems to have found that he has better luck with spells than with mundane weaponry. The ball of acid connects solidly, and the wolf howls in pain as his fur and flesh is corroded away.

Ashina attacks, and again, she manages to stab the wolf, leaving another bloody mark. Between her earlier attack, this latest one, and Sennoth's magic, the wolf appears to be on his last legs. If it wasn't for the maddening disease in his brain, he would probably be fleeing the scene right now.

Instead, he tries to bite Ashina, but again, she is too quick and too nimble to get bitten. The other wolf turns his anger towards Enos and attacks him, but he has no better luck. His attempt doesn't even get close to the stalwart Paladin.

Admist the fact that there were a few people in her 'party' that weren't having a decent time, she was most absolutely enjoying herself. With a malicious grin decorating her face at the sweet sight of the blood that gushed freely from the wound, and the ivory bone that predominantly stood out but for a moment until it was covered in it's own carnage, she awaited the deliciousness of the kill that was about to come. It mattered not to hear that it was a mere four-legged animal. She wanted to see that look in it's eyes. That look of fear before the realization of death hit them...and then the absence of life and peace. That moment of never ending peace in her victim's eyes was a true testament to her that regardless of how she'd brought them to their demise, it was ultimately the right decision. She was their savior to bring them to their final destination.

With Enos advancing before her and in her line of sight for her victim, she sidestepped (2 squares to the east) until the wolf (#3) was well within her sight and her range. As she moved, and as blood drizzled from the golden blade of her Halberd, she knew that she wanted to get closer to the beast, to smell of it's fear and it's anger. As she stepped to her intended location, she didn't toss her weapon to the ground carelessly, but gently as if it meant the world to her, though at the same time her free hand was in the midst of releasing the longsword from it's sheath. Moving closer (one square south), to the enemy, and with a perfectly equal exchange of weapons completed, she swung down with both hands on the hilt, towards the animal's spine from above. Her primary objective was to snap it in half. Though she doubted her ability to do such a thing, one could always hope.

Round 4
Continued

Phaeder, drawing on his knowledge of all of nature's animals, delivers a magnificent strike, and before the wolf can even recover, Enos follows up with a strike that puts the wolf(3) down.

Only one wolf remains now, and Sennoth tries to finish it off with another spell. Unfortunately, he doesn't meet with nearly as much success as last time.

{OOC: Ashina's turn. Only wolf (4) remains.}

Ashina lunges forward, but unfortunately, her foot slips on some loose dirt as she thrusts. She slips and falls flat on her face, loosing her grip on her weapon.

The wolf takes full advantage of this situation and tries to bite her while she's down. Fortunately, Ashina has enough sense to roll out of the way, and the attack misses.

The sweet sound of bone crushing against metal was not heard. Instead the sound of a thud echoed through her ears and vibrated through her body as her blade slammed into the ground. She was stunned to say the least. She never missed. Irritation surged through her body and she could only watch as Phaeder and the others brought the wolf to its demise that she had originally attempted to do herself. She felt cheated from something that she felt was her right. With one obstacle remaining, she advanced on the last remaining participant (wolf#4. One step east, three south). With fury filling her eyes she swung down towards the spine of this last beast with all of the force that her body could produce.

Ashina stumbles and falls on her face. The wolf tries to take advantage of the situation, but the halfling rolls out of the way. The problem is that she rolled exactly where Serenity was swinging her own weapon. Serenity was not prepared for this turn of events, and in order to avoid decapitating her teammate, she has to jerk her weapon back, which throws her off balance, and causes her to stumble, twisting her ankle slightly.
