Serenity

As each person found their place surrounding the Gnome, Serenity remained a few feet back from the group entirely. Based on his words, and subtle amount of magic that he presented, he sought assistance for a task. A good deed done. Serenity couldn't have cared less about his 'good deeds' until he mentioned the substantial amount of income. Serenity had been planning on purchasing a warhorse but hadn't obtained enough coin to do so. With a four-legged beast beneath her she could easily track her brother's tail and have an easier time of chasing him down.

Seeing the perfect being that looked much of what a disgusting angel would, Serenity quickly notated that she'd bring back the remains...and would see that this person's remains were the only items brought back. Otherwise she might be faced with the annoyances that people of high status could bring. The high and mighty, I'm better than everyone status. She knew that should this person speak at anytime down to her that she'd cut the tongue out. Why worry about the tongue? Just kill it and bring it back and she'd be paid delightfully. Her intentions would remain quiet, for now.

There were a couple of problems that filled her head. First of all, he stated "500" but not "each." This would definitely have to be clarified. Secondly, he intended for them to work together? Or perhaps he just sought out one person who would obtain such a task among all the others. Perhaps it was a race to see who could do this first? A competition of sorts?

He was insane if he expected them to actually become a group. Serenity did not work well with others. Ever. Not since that night.

During the silence, she remained leaning against an upright post before interrupting the silence of thought. With a low voice she brought the questions to his attention.

"Are you expecting us, Gnome, to combine together to achieve such a task?"

Phaeder

The elf wasted no time in following the gnome into the separate dining room, taking his bow with him and placing it properly on his back once again while he entered the room. He had noticed that the summons had been done in error, but the eager nature of the gnome made him accept what he had received anyway. The story was explained and he made sure to settle himself near Mr. Burrfoot to hear the entirety of the explanation before he made any decisions. Why Serenity or anyone else would move away from them was beyond him. This ranger, in his logic, already assumed they would have to work together. They had all been summoned here and there was no indication of a challenge at all. This ranger also knew that this was a much larger task that he could not simply endure alone. He was still a bit wary about joining in but as soon as he saw Pacoth, his interest was suddenly piqued.

They were to attempt to find her in whatever state she may have been in? This search and perhaps even rescue mission was honestly right up his alley. Scouting and tracking were things rangers like him were made for. His mind was now made up and as he was about to express his interest, he heard Serenity speak her mind noticing how she was not sure they were to work together. Before Mr. Burrfoot even had the chance to respond, this elf figured it was finally time for him to speak up.

"This is not a task that can be easily achieved alone. I doubt he'd send just anyone on their own to complete it. I, for one, am sure that I will need all of your assistance to ensure success here"

It was obvious this elf knew this to be true for himself, but perhaps the arrogance of others would make them automatically assume he was wrong. Working together seemed like an impossible task already, but anything is possible....anything!

Serenity

The ranger had done something clever, whether he realized it or not...he had presented Serenity with a compliment. Everyone was aware that Barbarian's were known for their size, strength, and their ability to take out things much larger than them. Ogres were her favorite, merely for size...their stench was too much.

Thankfully no one here was an ogre. A Sorcerer, yes...but she'd just be forced to deal with the 'cowardness' of that one man. The ranger held enough intelligence to answer her question before the Gnome could. Could she stomach working with others? Well they could present worthwhile pawns that could focus the enemies attentions while she slaughtered one after the other.

Oh! A slaughterfest!

The very thought sent a ripple of delightful chills through her body. Before anyone could speak, and before the visions of blood and the excitement of battle could fill her, she stepped forward towards the Gnome while speaking.

"I cannot speak for anyone else but myself. But should I, and/or anyone else decide to take on such a task, would the amount that's offered...the prize money as it were...be split through everyone involved?" She paused for a moment. "What if not all of us return...alive? Is the overall amount the same, or lessened depending on the people that return?" Eitherway this worked in her favor. Undoubtedly there would be a substantial amount of death, hopefully most of the death in her party, and then the overall amount....

Golden orbs matched with the Gnome. She didn't want any surprises when she came to claim her prize. She wasn't greedy in the sense that she wanted to be rich and powerful, but the less hindrance she had when it came to tracking her lifelong enemy...the better. And gold could open up a world of options.

Shaeffer Burrfoot

Shaeffer nods his head rapidly. "Yes, yes. The elf has it right. You see, the creatures in the forest have become quite, er... well, aggressive. And to go on your own would simply be suicide! The last druid has set up all kinds of traps which were meant to keep people out of the forest. In addition, he gathered some very powerful beasts to act as guardians for areas which he though were sacred. And to top things off, he used powerful magics to bring some plants to life, or even to grant some of the wildlife unusual magical gifts. And of course, all of this is deep within the midst of a forest, which even without an evil druid, can be hazardous, to those who don't know what they are doing.

So you see, it will be absolutely necessary for all of you to combine your talents.

To Serenity, he takes on a very business-like tone. "The amount is for your group. You may choose to split it however you so desire, whether you choose to divide it only among the survivors, or if you choose to send a share to the family of the departed, I leave up to you, and your companions."

Enos Empra

Enos looked at the tender a moment, before nodding slowly and spoke "Well if my host is generous then I shall not dishonor him by refusing. Some red wine, and a steak please" He said kindly as he turned his attention to the Halfling " A warrior of the light, should not fear giving his name, little miss, for in hiding our identity we appear dishonest" He said softly in a calm and quiet voice.

Hearing the other womans cold voice turned his attention to her she must have been summoned here but who else? It was clear what ever this person wanted it needed a Paladin, a rogue, a fighter or perhaps a barbarian, but was that it ? It seemed Enos must be missing something. As his questions piled in his mind he heard the halfling start to go off about the barbarian or fighter, and then turned her harsh words on him and the elf.

As she started towards the door he pondered telling her to stop, but decided against it, as she clearly did not find his path one of worth in her eyes before his attention was stolen by the mage who had just entered it was starting too look like he had been banded together with a random group of miscrents, but for what purpose. Turning back to the halfling he watched her heading toward the exit.

As she marched towards the door a Gnome entered and seemed to pay no one any attention except the bartender. He tried to not over hear what they were discussing but hearing the word paladin and stick up his something caught his attention. " And this is what I get for listening to a nasty smelling scroll instead of waiting for a vission from Tyr. "

As the Gnome called them all to the dinning hall off the main drinking hall he stayed back a bit watching the others who would move first. and followed in at the tail staying near the door way. That way he could keep an eye out for any straglers. As he listened to the story the gnome painted it seemed rather odd that a druid would die by the creations of another druid one who died years before. The five hundred gold seemed a bit less than he expected to go into a forest filled with natural creatures that were just trying to protect thier homes but the coin could help him out with some of his expenses and perhaps even help the church. Yet he did specify if it was for the whole group or just the ones who came out alive, which could mean desention in the ranks probably from the rogue or maybe the barbarian.

Hearing thier banter he nodded to the rangers words." So what types of creatures can we expect on the outskirts of this forest, as you clearly have spied something of our intential enemies we shall encounter ? Simple goblins or something worse ? I'm in, but I would like some more information "

Shaeffer

"Excellent question, young man. Unfortunately, my answer will not be quite worthy. You see, I've never been in the forest myself. Some of the townsfolk, and lumberjacks can probably provide valuable insight in that area. Of course, some of them are not so trusting of strangers, so you may have to convince them that its worthwhile to give you the information you seek."

Eildrien
Looking down at the female halfling who appeared to be verbally assaulting all in the group, save for him. Eildrien was not surprised; many women, regardless of race, had pined after his beautiful features. Just as the young sorcerer had opened his mouth to speak again, a gnome made his entrance announcing himself as the very Mr. Burfoot he was looking for.

The fact that the gnome had called the wrong adventurers didn't bother him, so long as he was still capable of earning the coins he would be whoever the gnome wished him to be. After hearing the story of the druids and observing the rather beautiful elvish woman in the illusion Eildrien had decided that he would most certainly be accepting the mission. An adventure such as this did not present itself everyday.

After listening to the members of the 'group' speak Eildrien looked around the table to truly observe his would-be travelling companions. The elf and the half-elf seemed nice enough, and Eildrien had always had a strong curiosity of Elven culture, it was why he had learned the language. However, the halfling and the other human's dispositions left something to be desired.

Giving a broad smile the young sorcerer spoke up.

"Well it seems that you'll make a capable enough party. There's a...eh...rather robust woman who could most likely break me in half, a sharptongued and sharpwitted eh...rogue shall I say? And powerful cleric and an upstanding ranger will make extraordinary additions to a group."

Giving his soon to be companions a smile Eildrien tossed back locks of long dark hair. "I'm Eildrien, your friendly adventuring sorcerer. I suppose I'll sign on as well, Mr. Burrfoot."

Shaeffer Burrfoot

"Splendid! Welcome aboard, my boy." He looks at the two ladies, who have not yet accepted his offer, waiting for their decision.

Ashina

Ashina, her tirade forgotten for the moment, had followed the group from the main room into the other, listening to Burrfoot. As the image of the elf popped up, she looked around at the faces of the men surrounding her, realizing that they were already half in love with the creature. Men were idiots.

Ashina kept her thoughts to herself, but rolled her eyes. Then the mention of coin caught her attention. A minimum of 100 gold if they all survived and the possability of more if a few didn't. That elf must be very important for this gnome to offer so much money. Ashina would go, if for no other reason that to get that gold. She could live a life of comfort and stop stealing if she were to go along.

She turned her attention back to Burrfoot, when the mage spoke up, declaring his interest in this quest. Burrfoot turned to regard herself and Serenity and Ashina shrugged, "Yeah. Sure. I'll go. This elf obviously needs our help." If this quest was going to be as hard as Burrfoot implied, perhaps it would be best to employ a little diplomacy at this point and not let the others know that her reasons were completely for profit. Adventuring to find an elf for 100 gold was much easier than picking a pocket anyway. "So...where do we start?" This was addressed to the room in general. She was a thief by trade. Let the warrior come up a plan of action.

"Well, I suggest the first thing you do is get some supplies for your trip. Here is an advance on your reward to use for such things. From there, you are sort of on your own.

Oh yes! And I have this for you. A token of appreciation if you will."

Mr. Burrfoot takes a pouch with 100 gold coins and hands it to Ashina, to be used by the party for supplies.

He also draws a wand and hands it to Enos. "That wand has 5 charges left on it. Either you, or your elf friend can use it to cure any wounds you or your companions earn on your quest."

Phaeder

This elf, while completely unsure if they could all work as a unit, seemed prepared enough to take his part in this endeavour. Pacoth was not an object of infatuation for him, but the fact that she had been entrusted with such a large task only to have gone missing warranted some sort of explanation. Since it was in a forest, one of a ranger's favorite type of environments, it had only been natural for him to accept knowing he could be of great use to this assembled group. This did not mean, however, that he could not have easily left them to their own vices and left them to wander around the forest without sense of direction. While the monetary reward was tempting, the true reason he accepted was out of his own pride. The fact they were tampering with nature which should be left alone moved him to accept without much thought.

He heard each of his companions speak, Serenity being the only one who hadn't officially accepted but there was no true questions as to why she would refuse if only to justify the trek here. There was something about the woman that merited respect, but it would seem that her mouth seemed to ruin the development of that many times. The rogue was no different and it would seem now that it was the women that would have trouble melding with the men of this group. Such a separation was coincidental really and most definitely disappointing. He didn't want to waste time arguing with either of them and out of his own sense of attempted unity, would give them all the respect they deserved unless they lost it all.

An advance had been given and he wondered idly about the wand that had been given to Enos, examining their possible safety nets and attempting to plan out how things would go. A paladin along with the formidable warrior in Serenity would prove nicely for their front line and he had no question in him that the sorcerer would be of use along with the no-doubt agile rogue. Despite what seemed to be a mistake on Mr. Burrfoot's end, this elf saw no reason why this task should not be completed. It was in that faith that he began to speak.

"I suggest we move out as soon as you are all ready. The quicker we move, the easier it will be for us to get all of this over with...agreed?"

He did not know exactly what he could get that he hadn't already come with so the extra money for supplies was about the last thing on his mind. If his new companions felt equipped to move on then he assumed they were all ready so at this point he waited for everyone else to speak.

{OOC: So she did... No XP Penalty for her. However, she didn't say what she wanted her char to do... That leaves me to control her character. MWA-hahahaha!}

Serenity

Serenity preoccupies herself with picking her nose while the ranger gabs on. She finally gives some sort of half-hearted grunt of acceptance of the job. She's in.

Sennoth

The sorcerer nodded his head then scratched his chin. "Sounds ta me that we need to ask around first, see what kind of dangers we'll be up against." He added.

((Everyone, just substitute the half elf sorcerer for my human version and we'll be sorted.))

((OOC- I think not SJ you said they have to post atleast once every MOnday, Wednesday and Friday, not by 6 am Monday or what not, so you can hold thine horses))

ENOS
Taking the wand slowly he nodded calmly " Thank you " He said in a clear voice before looking to his compatriots. " Well day lights failing and we should see if we can coerce any information from the Towns folk and local lumberjacks for information, I think it would be best to know what to expect, outside and inside this forest." He said before looking to the rest of his party.

Shaeffer Burrfoot

With an air of impatience the gnome squeaks "Well, what are you waiting for? Hop to! Get going! This mystery isn't going to solve itself and I'm not paying you to sit around gabbing with eachother. Lets get this show on the road!

When you finish, leave a message for me at the inn or with Yosef out there and I'll meet you for the rest of your payment."

He hops down from his stool and heads out into the main room of the tavern. He pays the fees for your food and drink and then exits, disappearing somewhere in the distance.

Sennoth

"Lumberjacks would be the best bet. If anyone would have been deep into the forest and seen something it would be them."

Phaeder

"Let us head out then. If anyone wishes to make use of the money we have acquired then let us know, otherwise I believe we should start extracting information from these lumberjacks"

The elf wasted no time in getting up and moving out, motioning for Sennoth to follow and looking at the others to see if they would decide to follow suit. He had not attempted to give any of them orders....they were free to do as they pleased, but didn't they all want to profit off of this? With that assumption, he continued forward without much of a thought, out of this establishment to find some of these lumberjacks.
