Mission Eleven: Sakidō

Shasse with Miles in tow headed north towards the ancient forest with just the average amount of protest from the helpless minkan who quickly gave up and accepted his fate to be dragged along at breakneck speed buy the wild neko carrying him, instead Miles focused his attention to estimating where they'd find these fruits and opened a comm link to anyone else in the northern area but only to listen. For the time being Miles was aware this may be a competition with some seriously embarrassing results for those who didn't find a fruit and to that end he would play it smart and listen to see if anyone else in his area let something slip they shouldn't.

Shasse on the other hand wasn't waiting around for smart tactics and made a dive bomb for the forest floor terrifying her prisoner, with as much force as she could use the blue neko stopped barely a meter above the ground and promptly dropped miles on the floor. "Alright science gook, whats our plan. I'm sure i could check half the forest if you do the other half in a super fast time-"
"Let me stop you right there, this forest is huge and could have an endless amount of possibilities we've never even considered not to mention there is a better way. I am monitoring the area comms for any information, in the meantime I suggest we do some basic research on the plants here and figure out exactly what this fruit looks like."

Miles began looking through the little information they had access too about Ayenee along with cataloguing his own findings, coparing the flora to that of the Kikyo sector. "Well I think I was wrong about you, taking charge like that was quite manly. What should I do next then if your playing this the sciency boring way?"
"I need samples of any rare looking plants, also could you try scanning for any subterranean systems." The minkan said over his shoulder continuing to work.
"Sub-tear whah?" Came the confused reply, "CAVES! Shasse. We're looking for potential caves."

Ayenee Surface - South

"Gas gas gas~ I'm gonna heck on the gasss~"
Whizzing over the grassy planes at several dozen mph, abart was enjoying the many sights to be seen. Swirling around the occasional tree or other high object, the coastline up in the distance gradually came further into view. In his little speed frenzy he had already lost sight of Gravity, sliding and swooshing through Ayenee's pleasant atmosphere.

Buzzing off towards the ocean, the many little castles that were carefully snuck in between the beaches came in sight. It had ocurred to him he hand't seen an actual inhabitant of Ayenee yet, and only knew of them from hearsay. If this planet really was home to all sorts of magic-y things, a castle surely would be the place to go look for it. With a bit of exrtra boost, the aeronoodle flew off, not realizing he was about to pass under Hoshi and Care.

Back at the camp

While being caught up in fooling around with Chlorate and Mark, Nerai couldn't help but overhear Sacre's interesting inquiry. With her long snaketail she simply leaned backwards a few feet, bringing herself right beside Sacre with a curious pose. "Stupid field trip~? Oh please do tell!"

"Well don't worry too much, I got you covered. I'll make sure you stay at 100%. This is a new world with new possibilities, but new dangers as well, so we'll need to be cautious. But we should be fine, because we have each other. You ready to go?" Mark said giving a kind smile then turned his attention to the present conversation, "It's a morale tactic. This move has been hard on everyone, so if I had to guess, I'd say the captain is giving us something fun to do to lift spirits and get our minds off the last couple days. Plus its a good excuse to explore, and who knows what anomalies in a world of magic we might encounter."

Mark gave a kiss to his daughter's forehead before standing back up to turn towards Nerai, "So, ready to hit the unknown? We could take a sunlit stroll through the forest. Some might even consider it romantic." He said giving a grin.

Ayenee Surface - East

Something about the city was calling to Mikael and honestly, the search for pomegranate was an odd choice of a mission objective to him. Though he was a bit confused the Chusa said west, but the city is to the east. He just shrugs and goes over data he was downloaded off the ship and fort's databases. He was no farmer, but what information he was able to pull made it seem highly unlikely that any grew natively nearby. But this universe was strange. At the very least, maybe he can just steal some.

He then begins to do an analysis regarding the local populace on if the locals know of their existence, reaction to their existence if they do how, and local customs. Once satisfied, he engages the mindy's cloak and proceeds to by up to a certain distance away from the city to survey the surrounding area, remembering anything of note along the way.

Fort Miller > To The Forest!

William didn't have to wait long before Aiko emerged from the hangar wearing a pristine Shibui suit that kept her tall, lusty silhouette tight from every angle. She seemed less gloomy, too, as she stood there with her katana secured in a black yarvex spinal sheath rather than the radiant white it was normally housed in. Between Gravity and Abart's airshow and all of the really, really sexy powerful warriors she'd just seen suiting up, it was difficult to remain miserable about being sent to another dimension. No mental clone of the Mistress Taisho could lack pride in the Star Army's innumerable strengths when they stared assaulted her at every turn.

Wil's augments didn't dampen Aiko's spirits, either. From the moment he unleashed his full power, her sharp Nekovalkyrja senses told her the Nepleslian boy was a new man, now. But what were all of those stereotypical, fittingly Nepper cybernetics and enhancements good for other than some added bulk? It was time for him to prove a thing or two.

"Taiyou-chusa," the princess said, addressing Hoshi even though she was using the team line. "We will proceed west toward the forest."

With nothing else left to say or do, she looked to William beside her and nodded knowingly.

"You are at a disadvantage and may have a head start, Wil-kun," Aiko told him in a way that didn't sound rude, but was certainly forward. She was obviously talking about the fact that Neko could float around while William could not. Plus, Aiko just plain thought she'd be faster, even with her legs.

"That way is west," Aiko added with a nod to the fort's western wall, wondering if he'd be able to jump or have to go around. "Hayaku!"

Upon seeing Shasse and Miles Descend, the human decides to follow out of sheer curiosity, kicking in his air brakes and looping around into a momentary nosedive, flipping around and kicking on the thrusters a safe distance away from the forest floor to stop him. after a moment of floating, he drops down onto his feet, stepping forward beside the Minikan and Neko. He doesn't use his science scanner, but instead his eyes to try and get a feel for what plants surround him. Quite a few species seem familiar though just as many are plain alien to him. Ironic, considering he's the alien here. "Let's see. We're looking for a large, scarlet fruit. When you break it open, there are a lot of red seeds that fall out with not much 'meat.'"

Pomegranates weren't commonly in stock back at his mother's flower shop, but the same goes for any kind of tree, especially fruit-bearing ones. Though when particular customers requested certain plants, she would dutifully grow them as a special order before having Darwin deliver them to the home of whoever requested it. usually, whenever it was a tree, it would be in the form of a Bonsai - surprisingly, they would still bear normal sized fruit despite their minimal stature. the thought brought a little smile to the human's face for a second, though he would cast it to the side before sentimentality could render his eyes foggy.

"Though I'm not even sure if they're in season on this planet or if the plants even require seasons to grow... No less our goal is less oriented on the Pomegranates and more on surveying the area."

While trying to figure out how exactly she would go about finding caves without simply attacking the earth she stood on, Shasse noticed Darwin decend and meet them as the search began, listening to the human describe what they were looking for the small neko got the feeling he may know some useful information.

"You must be darwin right?" she said in a friendly tone "sounds like you know a fair bit about these plants, makes me wonder just, how much." She was standing left of him at this point and had placed her hand on his shoulder which looked odd with the height difference, Miles hadn't yet noticed the exchange happening and was concentrating on his HUD reading through all the data he could find, which wasn't much.

"I would hope that you weren't withholding information from me dear Darwin, that would be very mean indeed." Her grip tightned slightly before she placed her helmeted head beside his and spoke quietly "how do you find caves? Miles didn't give me any hints" As this all took place the Minkan had moved away towards one of the towering ancient trees to study it more closely as his mind was governed by his desire to learn.

North

The bark on the tree Miles was studying was flakey, ruddy brown, and came up and went down in large ripple-like patterns. Eden was the first to notice a slow change as they moved further into the forest. She was beginning to feel buoyed by an exhilarating feeling, uplifted in thoughts and actions. The others could begin to feel it, too, like 10 units of Instadrunk had been dumped on them the lot of them. It was making even this Nekovalkyrja start feeling as if a little more tipsy.

She sped up as she weaved in and out of trees, she asked over comms, "Do you feel that, team? It may be nothing..."

West

Beyond the small patch of plains, the Starlight Forest beckoned to those going West with its overhanging trees and the soft twinkle of lights that came out of the inky darkness beneath them.

East

It took the SAINT operative going towards the city little time to begin to encroach on the outskirts of it, where the buildings began to ascend almost immediately. Connecting pipes and walkways were constructed between buildings and, below the condensed and tall buildings, a fast-moving train tunneled through them, people milled about on sidewalks, and there was a general glow of activity.

South

Hoshi looked around and popped herself so she was flying through the clouds backwards and looked down and up, then asked, "Who decided to follow my lead?"

Gravity laughed heartily as she blasted through the grassy plains. She flew so low and so fast that she kicked up a plume of dust behind her. She reached down and ran an armored hand through the golden grasses, as if it were an ocean. Looking back up, she saw a forest fast-approaching.

In her eight months of life, Gravity had only seen a few forests. She'd never liked them, mainly because what few forests she'd seen had been the dark, spooky kind from horror vids. It had taken a week for her friends to get it through her thick head that the "Machete-Handed Mishuu" wasn't real, and that forests were perfectly safe. She'd gotten over that odd, childish fear, but still was just a little weary of them. Now, under normal circumstances, she would have loved the challenge of dodging trees at 600 mph, but this forest before her seemed especially dark and ominous.

"Nope. Not today, Machete-Handed Mishuu!" she grumbled and rolled over on her back to look at who had followed. The Adorable Floof, Bird-Brain, and another Neko who had kidnapped a Minkan trailed behind. Gravity snorted with laughter at the other Neko. The pilot hadn't even met the other girl, but she already loved them!

She jerked her thumb skywards to the others, and said, "I'm heading up! That forest is creepy as hell!"

Then, she rolled back over so that her stomach faced the ground, and angled herself up to get over the mass of trees. Higher and higher she rose, until she saw the sparkling blue of water.

"Oh, hey, dassa ocean! Hey guys, I'll race ya to the other side!" she called back to her team, her competitive spirit rising to the surface.

As others started to break off and head down lower or in different directions, Nora would stick after gravity. She watches in awe as the crazy pilot blasted across the plains. Swallowing back her fears along with a bit of common sense, the daur threw caution to the wind as she took a sharp angled turn downwards. She would plummet out of the sky and soar down after gravity, her mindy just inches from the tops of the swaying grasses. The disruption of the air made from her body swooping through so fast would create a trail in the grass behind her, looking similar to that of the trails created by boat a on water.

As gravity turned and motioned upwards before skyrocketing up over the trees, the daur would become poised to follow. But a sparkling caught her eye as the wind stirred the edge of the dark forest ahead. "What..?" she would utter before her eyes widened and she sucked in a breath that caught in her throat. The edge of that dark forest was faster approaching that she had realized! Flipping her legs forward, she would look as if she were skidding through the air much like how it's depicted in cartoons as she essentially put on the air breaks by blasting her mindy's flight wings in forward and bellow her, flattening the unlucky grasses she happened to travel over. Coming to a heart pounding stop at near the edge of the forest, she would stay floating there were she was, her head swiveling back to see where the others were going off to before her head turned back to that dark forest. Again she would be captivated by the shimmering coming from within the forest which seemed to suck in all light. She could not tell what was causing this phenomenon...but she wanted to know more. Slowly, she would drift over the last stretch of grace between her and the mysterious forest's edge.

With the four additional drones attatched to the dorsal and shoulder mounts of his Mindy suit, Katsu used the drone's extra thrusters to go full speed. In addition he had the little assistant drone strapped to his lower back, right above his tail. He himself joined in with the others at low altitude flying, his heart pounding in his chest. He was trained pilot, he was even a natural pilot! He loved the speed and the rush. In fact, as he flew like this, he forgot all thoughts for a moment and just enjoyed seeing the scenery blast past him, imagining that he himself was a fast nimble fighter plane and that he was flying.

"Alright people. The mission we are on isn't serious, but keep your eyes open and ears sharp. Let's use the next two hours to get to know the planet. Who knows, maybe some laws of physics work differently here. Who knows." Katsu was flying in a laying position, belly to the ground and head pointed forward. As he saw the treeline approach, he slowly pulled up and glided over the trees. Just to be sure though, he turned around to fly upside down, his back facing the ground and looking backwards past his legs, and noticed that the other Shukaren didn't pull up above the treeline. So as he turned around again to keep following after Gravity, he talked into the radio once more. "Ma'am Gravity, I think some want to investigate the forest."

Fort Miller > West

William turned and took in Aiko, before blushing hard. He turned and pulled his hood a little higher to hide his red checks. He then turned towards where Aiko pointed and smiled softly. "I believe you will be surprised just how fast I am now, my lady. You might regret this..." He took several steps back and looked back at the wall. With his eye he did the calculations, nodding when he was finished.

He planted his back foot like he did back at the temple and counted down. Just before he took off, Aiko would see all his muscles tense. Then in flurry if movement, William took off towards the wall at full speed. Much faster than a normal Nepleslian could ever hope for. His take off left a small crater where his foot once was.

As he neared the wall he planted his foot and vaulted skywards, clearing the top of the wall by a good 6 feet. As he landed on the otherside he planted both feet and sprung forward with all his might. He ran low to the ground, kicking up dirt and rocks as he sped towards the tree line.

It was a race, and this time he would beat the princes...

Alastair was still getting use to his decision to jump on this magical ride. He was leaving behind all that he had know to chase his dream of exploring the unknown. The idea of more ranks was just a bonus. Either way his heart was racing as he listened to the speech from Hoshi. He looked around at the crew and could see the mix of emotions.

He knew it would be up to him to help support the decision to come to this new universe. A place filled with wonder and maybe a few alien ladies looking for a good time. He could not help but chuckle a little as his mind wondered thinking of all the new fun people he would meet.

He made quick work to get suited up. He was using the old mindy suit used by Miko from him battles past. He felt this would be a fun way to honor his brother he would not see for awhile. He thought for a moment to wonder if Miko had gotten his wish. He quickly changed his focus back to the job at hand.

Fort Miller > West

Alastair was on his way chasing after a good amount of the team who decided to go in this direction. Part of him went this way to give leadership support to everyone heading this way. Other half which caused him to smirk was the idea there might be people on the beach near the waters edge he would see in the distance.

Starlight Forest

Gravity immediately shut off her music and turned to face the Floof. It took her a moment to comprehend what he was saying, because she thought that he said someone was trying to enter the creepy, magic for-

Oh crap, someone was!

And what's more, it was the Floofette!

"Man! Why do white foxes always gotta go investigating shit?!" Gravity whined as she flew downwards after Nora. "She's lucky she's adorable."

"I-I'm sorry, excuse me?" The human stammers, taking a step back, but being still unable to move as her grip left him nearly paralyzed. It weren't as though he could really feel it through the armor, and yet he could. For some reason that part was enough to send cold blood pouring through his veins. "I mean, I don't really have any info on caves. Pretty sure they come from geological processes but... that's about it on my end. I... I mean if you want to know anything about plants, you can just ask me and MAN you're getting really close."

There's a pause, and the next thing Darwin would feel is the sensation of giddiness. Lightheadedness, even. Darwin was never a fan of drinking. Never has even a drop of alcohol passed his lips unless it was in cough syrup. He doesn't know if it's his response to intimidation or what, but it felt oddly... great.

Even having Shasse next to him felt great. "You know... I don't think I've had a woman this close to me since training." The human grins under his helmet. There's a moment before a chuckle manages to squirm out of his lungs. Not a loud one, but more of a bubbly giggle. "You're Emiko-Hei, right? Don't think we've ever spoken for... formamally." His thoughts became as blurred as the clouds above, and even his vision seemed to be in slow motion. But it didn't matter to him. The alcoholic-esque euphoria was enough to knock away any sense of concern or even dread where normally, Darwin would be in a panic for feeling off in a new world like this. He didn't even bother trying to come up with an answer for why. Maybe somebody put something in his food? Fooey to that. Perhaps it's magic entering his systems? Don't bother. Right now, all that mattered to him was the forest, the fact that somebody is getting up close to him, and the sensation it provided, replacing the sense of coolness in his body. His cheeks flush, and his gaze softens. He raises a hand, seeking to pull the helmet from his armor off, but after a moment of struggling, he gives up.

"Oh is that so? I hope im not making you nervous by being so close, I just want you to help me find this plant so that I can be the winner." She spoke in a silky tone and putting on her best cute helpless girl act. "You know so much about these things that I don't how could I possibly do it without you to help me" The strange effects Darwin was feeling she was now also feeling and it only boosted her overly playful nature further.

Shasse released her grip on his shoulder and instead grabbed his arm dragging him along with her through the forest, Miles had been inspecting the strange bark on the tree when he noticed his friend dragging away the helpless human and shook his head. He too had noticed the effects of whatever it was causing them and realised it must be affecting those two more than him, it seemed that anyone working together so far were in small groups so nothing was coming through the comms but that didn't bother him, he would let them look for fruits while he studied the new environment and as a side objective kept an eye out for fruits.

"Darwin hurry, we have to find the fruits and the sub tear rain cave thingos, you must know where they are right?" The usually playful neko was practically sprinting among the trees dragging Darwin by the wrist and laughing occasionally as they narrowly avoided a head on collision with a tree.

Mark suited up in his new Mindy, equipped with as many drones it could carry and some sort of auto canon on the right shoulder hard point. He had changed and climbed in followed by pressurized hisses as the suit environmentally sealed, then finally the helmet was equipped and sealed. Booting up the OS, data and text was soon displayed.

Mark breathed in as the comforting sensation he had come to be familiar with washed over him. He could feel the wind on his plating, the metal deck under his feet, and hear the sounds of nature beyond the hangar with enhanced audio quality. It was like the armor had become his skin, it's power his, and every system a new organ. He and the suit were in a way one.

"Ah, I missed this feeling, to be one with my armored shell. So where you guys wanna go?" Mark asked with enthusiasm.

"Well how forward of you~" the man giggled once yanked in her direction by the wrist, but before he could say anything else, she tossed her butchered mission briefing at him. "Sub-Subterrainean? You mean caves?" Darwin blinked a couple of times, shaking his head in a vain attempt to gather his thoughts. To think coherently. Being a bit shorter than him, Shasse's stride made the human fumble with his feet a times before he managed to develop a jog at her pace (albeit uncomfortably). "I don't get why we need to find caves. Pomegranates are plants, so..." His head swung from the left to the right and then left again just in time to let him sidestep around a tree at the very last second, narrowly avoiding smacking his face headlong into it.

He yelped in response, almost falling down in the process, but it didn't stop him from trying to spew out a what little more he does know. "I mean... I don't know where they are, but... we could... we could see if this may be a place where they grow." Another tree, another sidestep. Another laugh from Shasse. It came across him as oddly cute despite her obvious attempt at squeezing for information mere moments ago. Information that no rational person would think he has.

But then again, she wasn't being rational. And since he wasn't yanking his hand away to return to where miles was standing, one could argue he wasn't being rational either.

For some reason or another, Darwin didn't care.

Katsu looked at Gravity, who kind of was his wing leader, as she looked at him to take in what he said. At her reaction, he chuckled a little bit at her words and turned around to fly after her back towards Nora. "Well, us foxes are naturally curious, can't blame her." At the mention of her being adorable, he simply smiled a bit underneath his helmet, completely agreeing with her, but not wanting to say something like that while Nora could hear it, especially not during a mission.
