And so it begins!

Yeah well cannot blame the majority of the thugs that tried to rob the lines, seriously at one store with ten people in line you had the chance of getting your hands on up to six thousand dollars. I know the line I was camped out in paid all in cash, and the system was roughly six hundred and fifty dollars without buying a spare controler another fifty and no games another sixty each. The problem was that gamers are fanatical and will throw thier lives away for a Playstation release or an X-box release. Granted the worst my group got was harrassment from customers and employees of Wal-mart, sleep deprivation, some loud jack ass who never shut the hell up, and dealing with the fourty differnt managers and thier views on where we should line up.

This kind of thing sadly happens. You have to think that if Sony wasn't trying to cream as much profit off the top of this there wouldn't have been so much money to steal.

I'm just glad the next console I buy will be less than £200.

Getting a Wii are ya cartman ? Sorry, I agree the system is over priced, but its been going that way for years, we are lucky the prices are where they are truthfully. I remember my uncle getting me the first Nintendo for a hundred dollars, now nearly 18 years later the price has only gone up to six hundred. I really want a Playstation 3 I do, but I wouldn't want to own a first gen for the life of me, Maybe when the 3rd gen comes out I'll pick one up for a less inflated price with out all the possible glitches.

Eventually getting one, but not until at least January when there'll be more games and more consoles available. Need a job first too.

You guys all know they release the game system with a very high price, and then after all the fools buy it at the high price, they drop it to accomodate every one else in time for Christmas.

There'll still be PS3 shortages at christmas, Sony never get enough consoles on the market, so they'll still be uber-pricey.

Sometimes, owning the first system off the block, is not a good idea.
I'm quite an avid gamer with quite a collection myself.
And let me tell you. Those who buy those second or third-year(or sometimes those who buy slightly used) consoles, are usually getting a very good deal.

Lemme tell you, spending 150 bucks on a ds and then having a so called friend steal it from you, is just no fun at all.

I tend to go for the used deals on a normal basis as they save me some major money.

Take the recent(out for like two weeks) game called marvel alliance.
I bought the game in 100 percent condition for a fraction less then what it normally costs. I paid only thirty three bucks for a game that runs at least at fourty easy.

Now granted sometimes there's extra-extras that game companys throw in with the games that make it that much more worthy of buying brand new.
For example, mk armageddon, I paid full retail in advance(reserve) to get the extra goodies that came along with the collectors edition.
the metal casing, extra dvd(with umk3 game inside) the game itself and two free animation cells.

Now that is a good bargain because sometimes it's the little extras that make the game more enticing.

Well I know the one I stood in line for is on Ebay like almost all the other 400,000 that were released.
