Wireless Mouse and Keyboard

Has anyone here used a wireless mouse and keyboard? I did many years ago, and it sucked.

I'm wondering if anyone has used them recently, and has an opinion on whether its worth the investment or not?

I have used both and though they are convient the keyboard would occasionally mistype and the cordless mouse, depending on name brand, works fairly well.
 
I love my wireless mouse. My keyboard is not wireless though I have thought about getting one that is. My mouse is a Logitech (W/ battery) so if the battery starts running low all of the sudden your pointer won't move. I go through a battery maybe every 4-6 months, so it's not a pain.
 
Just make sure you get a full-sized mouse and keyboard.

I got one of the mini ones for my laptop the first time, and the batteries would run out after about 4-6 hours.

Normal ones last about as long as Tifferzzz has recommended.
 
Wireless isn't bad in mouse form, except when a hair gets in the way of the optics then well your mouse flys left and right when you tell it to move down. I want to get a wireless keyboard soon. My Mouse is a Dura something or other came with rechargeable batteries and a charger/reicever in one all in all it works pretty good save for hair and if you don't have pets it should be fine.
 
Wireless is okay if you don't like wires.

Personally, I thrive on my daily moving and rearranging of everything that has to do with my computer so I can actually get the keyboard and mouse and headset and anything else in this corner with a wire, to where it needs to be, simply because there's nowhere else to put it, and as a result, am forced to put up with the tangled catacombs of metal and rubber. It sucks so bad I want to cry.

But yeah, it's okay.
 
I got a spiffy wacom tablet. Only wire is from the tablet to the computer, mouse is completely wireless, as is the pen, no batteries, nothin. I enjoy it, except when I'm in an exceptionally odd position and I use my optical mouse cause it works on clothes.

Sure it'll run you a couple of hundred bucks, but you gotta spend money to make money, right?
 
Mine was about $30 at Staples. No wires, just a USB plug-in for the mouse and 1 AA battery. With how well this mouse has done, there's no way I'd pay $100 for a different mouse.
 
I've got a Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard. I'm really not sure on the purchase price because it was used when I got it.

I go through 2 AA batteries in the mouse at least once a month, but that is with almost constant 24/7 use. When the battery gets low, the mouse will jump around all crazy kind of like Mith described with the hair. They have a bad habit of dying on me right in the middle of a game at a crucial moment.. typical.. anyway... The batteries in the keyboard, were in the keyboard when I bought it from my girlfriend's dad. Dunno how long they've been in there but I've been running on them for about six months myself.

I'd recomend wireless... especialy for poor Rhys ~chuckles~
 
I've only been using a wireless keyboard and mouse for a while now. My Mum's laptop has one and when I got my new hard drive it had an Acer wireless keyboard and mouse with it. From my use of the products they have been generally quite reliable apart from one battery failure, which is to be expected with a wireless mouse.

I would certainly recommend it despite the minor hassle of replacing the batteries.
 
I refuse to go wireless, due to both battery life and latency issues with games.

Wired 4 Life. (old school in this thread)
 
The latency issue isn't a concern for me since i don't game. I know. I'm a freak of nature because I use my computer for actual work. insanity...

but the battery thing is my main concern. Those of you who have wireless, how often do you replace the batteries? 1/mo like Deranged? more? less?
 
Typically I never replace batteries, Mine came with rechargeable batteries and has a cradle/reciever in one. So you may want to look into one like I have.
 
My computer runs anywhere from 6-10 hours a day, five days a week. I replace my 1 battery about every 6 months, usually longer.
