Unreasonable Fears

Okay, so, most people have fears that others would consider "unreasonable." I'm just wondering what your fears are. Amelina actually made me think of this topic because she mentioned she's afraid of clowns. Therefore, I'm bringing up my unreasonable fear: I'm afraid of the dark. I have always been afraid of the dark as long as I can remember. I'm 23 years old and I cannot walk outside to the car by myself if it's dark out. And, it doesn't have anything to do with robbers or rapists or anything like that. It's almost like I'm afraid there is a monster out there who is going to get me.

Aside from my clown fear, which is minor compared to my fear of Snakes, I have no real other fear. The snake thing is so bad that if I even see a picture of a snake, I have a massive panic attack lol. Doesn't even have to be real, just an image and WHAM i'm freakin! lol

Fear of Drowning is my main one. But I don't know if it qualifies as unreasonable, since drowning = death. Also, it doesn't prevent me from going swimming every chance I get.

As far as Unreasonable goes, I am deathly afraid of needles. Its pointless (pun) because i end up getting stuck anyways when I go to the doctor, but I cannot stand needles. Its because of this that I never go to the doctor. Fortunately, I am never sick, so I haven't suffered because of my phobia.

I also have mild arachnophobia.

Bridges and spiders...Having to drive/walk over a spider covered bridge would probably make me die of a heartattacke

Any kind of bug scares me. I don't understand how these people on these nature channels can hold those 6 inch cockroaches and let them crawl all over their hands and stuff. Bugs are for squishing, not making into pets.

ummm. an unreasonable fear? I have a very minor fear of falling. I mean like REALLY minor, as in I climb up something high, look down and think "woah. okay, gotta be careful" apparently that's different than most people's thiking of simply "woah that's high" so, yeah, I am slightly afraid of falling, but I love heights. go figure.

Spiders. I'm watching the Colbert Report and there was a kid who had two spiders living in his ear. LIVING IN HIS EAR. The doctor removed them and he's keeping them. THEY'RE STILL ALIVE! THEY WERE LIVING IN HIS EAR.

I think I'm going to go throw up now, and put earplugs in at night.

You know, my sister-in-law has an insane fear of cockroaches. She swears they are looking at her when she sees one and will run as far and as fast as she can screaming when she sees one.

Ever since I watched ER and they pulled the live cockroach out of that woman's ear, I've been afraid one would get in my ear and I wouldn't know it. They say that bugs can only get so far into your ear, but, even House showed a man with a cockroach in his ear. That's what t.v. does to you. I should call my sister-in-law and tell her about the spider thing and then casually mention the cockroaches. We're a loving family who likes to torture one another.

Okay....now I'm afraid to sit at my computer. I was sitting here, happily typing away talking to Andy and this HUGE F'ING SPIDER LANDED ON MY HEAD!!! OMFG!

Oh.. I think my greatest fear is actually losing any of my jobs. I live from pay check to pay check, work about 65 hours a week just to make ends meet and have amassed over 30 thousand dollars of debt between car loans school loans and credit card debt while I was in college. So ya, if I lose a job I may be fucked, at least I won't be homeless. My family would never make me live on the streets. But school is paying off! Making decent money now to afford all these damn bills.

I dunno if thats unreasonable I understand the reason to that on Brad. See the only thing I fear thats unreasonable doesn't exist, eternal life with out eternal youth....damned the new adventures of Johnny Quest for planting that idea into my brain.....

True, at first glance I guess I misinterpreted. I didn't put unreasonable as being well unreasonable. But after your post I get your side of the issue. I guess I really don't have to many unreasonable fears then. I am pretty bold when it comes to things that would scare most people.

I guess...being eaten alive? That would be the worst way to die imo.

Altho when I went to the hospital over christmas for a kidney stone I couldn't pass I was pretty worried when I was told they would have to surgically remove it after hearing all theese new horror stories about surgeries being done incorrectly and surgical devices being left inside of patients. I just read a recent story on a news site about a guy who had cancer in one of his testicles and they removed the WRONG TESTICLE!? Although I did not have to have anything removed or cut.. I guess I will spare you the details about my surgery since it was still kinda harsh.

Man, surgury is one I think a lot of people fear, and often for rare and in often screw ups you get props for the unreasonable fear!

Surgery should be feared. I had a friend a few years back who went in just to get her tonsils out, got an infection on the operating table and died within 24 hours. Just from getting her tonsils out. Bleah.

I've never heard of women being afraid of an epidural during pregnancy until recently. My neighbor just had a natural birth baby because apparently, her sister went in labor and they gave her too much epidural and she died.

I'm afraid of death. I don't know why. I just am.
