The Movie Review Thread

So we went to the drive-in last night to see the Panda movie..We got there at 6:30 and we where half way up the line when they sold out! So we saw The Crystal Skull/Ind' movie..I agree with the ratings already given it...on the upside it was playing with Drillbit Taylor, which was a pretty funny movie!
Also watched parts of Baby Mamma while waitting for Drillbit to start...It looked really funny!

The New X-Man Movie ....ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Saw a bootlegged copy last night, hehehe, before it even hit the theaters!!!

"Drag Me to Hell" is a good scary movie, not the ending...it's not a bad ending, it's just not what you'd like to have the ending be.
"Land of the Lost" is funny at points but over all wasn't a very good movie.
(Gotta love Drive-in's...best part of summer...and cheap!!)

I really need to get out and see more movies. I usually rent. Closest drive thru I know of is in KC.

I love the review. Now time for one of mine.

We rented Watchmen last night. It was pretty good, but it does a lot of time-jumps that are somewhat difficult to follow. I'm still not entirely positive what all happened, but I got the main plotline, anyway. Oh and FYI, it's not exactly family-friendly. Seems DC is getting more and more adult oriented with each new movie they make.

I highly recommend The Hurt Locker for anyone who is into war movies. Not only does it have some fantastic action scenes (by far the most intense sniper-type scene I've seen in a movie EVER), it also does a great job of telling the stories and conveying the emotions of the characters involved in a way that no other recent movie of its type has done.

I agree with ya Rhysis, we watched Watchman last night...weird movie and abit to long n jumbled for my taste...
I'll have to look for The Hurt Locker next weekend! Thanks for the heads up :)

If you haven't read the Watchmen graphic novel yet I highly recommend it. If things seemed convoluted in the movie it probably won't clear things up since the book is just as convoluted, but it will at least put things in context. And be glad that you saw the movie's ending first, since it's far and away better than the one in the comic. In fact the ridiculous plot hatched by the villain in the book is my one and only complaint about it.

Went out to a movie for part of our anniversary tonight, saw District 9. The first part of the movie and a couple shots at the end are filmed as if it's a news feed, so it takes a little getting used to, but it was a very good movie. Not your typical "sci-fi" movie. It's more of a drama than anything. Lora doesn't do action or sci-fi and she enjoyed it quite a bit.

Sucker Punch was epic....WHY HAS NO ONE POSTED HERE IN LIKE A YEAR?! ._. anyways...sucker punch=epicness. that is all.

Well um people haven't posted here in a year because Slayer leaves bits of his exploded corpses around and we lost our maid...theres a smell thats very...unpleasant.

However on a Side note Red with Bruce Willis is well Bruce Willis so its awesome.

Whew, been awhile since this thread was last used. Saw a few good movies since then, but going to bring this thread out of coma with one that saw yesterday.

IronMan 3: Very good movie and well done in my opinion. I agree with the director for the Avengers, how is he going to incorporate the events of IronMan 3 into the upcoming Avengers? However he does it, I hope that its good and works. I look forward to the new Avengers along with Thor 2, Captain America 2, and AntMan.

I am also looking forward to watch the new Star Trek, After Earth, Man of Steel, and the new Hobbit and Avatar sequels.

{Grins and fades.}

New hobbit one is very good, new red dawn was good but the old one is much better...waiting for Hansel n Gretal to hit blue-ray!
