Iron Man review in 5 words

(and I don't want it to be spoiled by the thread preview feature, cause that would ruin the fun of such a review)
Iron Man is f'ing awesome.

(and if you go to see it, watch the credits)

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Went to see this on opening night. Had some pretty big expectations, though a bit toned down since it's been so damn long since an Indiana Jones movie.

I came out of it thinking "it's the new Star Wars trilogy for Indiana Jones". I won't cover specifics, or give a synopsis.

It is Indiana Jones, I'll give you that. It's got the sound effects for the punches, witty lines, all that, and a lot of the story is really good. The part that isn't, though, is really terrible. I don't want to spoil everything, so I'll put the below text in black, if you plan on seeing it yourself soon.

(Highlight to see)
[It mixes the supernatural with ideas of extraterrestrial involvement.]

Now, unlike the "new trilogy", I think the new Indiana Jones movie is pretty good, but I came out of it disappointed. Between the spoiler above and the overall amount of CG (especially later in the movie), it just didn't feel as good as it could've been, or as good as the original ones.

A let down eh? Damn, I was hoping it would be one of the better summer movies...Btw..Speed Racer Was as my son says...Total Awesomeness..For an old cartoon turned movie!

I'm not saying it was a complete let down. It was enjoyable, I didn't feel like I wasted my money, but the original moves were much, much better.

I'm planning on seeing the movie early next week...busy period for me at university due to research and reading to be done. I loved the original trilogy of Indiana Jones, and I intend to see it irregardless of any reviews. I want to see Iron Man too, but too busy and need money for petrol and other purchases.

The Strangers

Since going to the movies these days is expensive, I figured I'd let everyone know NOT to go see The Strangers. The plot is bland, the characters are unbelieveable and by the end of the movie I was hoping the main characters would go ahead and die already because after watching them make the dumbest decisions on the face of the planet for 85 minutes, I felt they deserved to die. The ending was cliche and while it was supposed to leave you wondering, all I was left wondering is why the Hell I wasted my time seeing this movie. Not one person who was in the theater with Marco and I last night walked out going, "What a good movie!" There was a ton of mumbling and complaining from the entire audience. One lady who was walking behind us struck up a conversation about how from the previews, you would have at least thought it was decent. The trailer, I will admit, made the movie seem like it would be alright. The trailer is the best part of the entire movie.

So, yeah. Just thought I'd let everyone know. I was so disappointed in this movie I've been posting complaints all over the web. Marco keeps telling me to drop it, but, this is how seriously disappointed I was.

Though I didn't plan to go see that movie anyways, because the trailer didn't really make me interested in the movie, thanks for the heads up about it.

I'm not a big movie person, so the trailers have to really excite me to make me want to see the movie.

We really hadn't planned to see it either, but, we never do anything anymore so we figured we'd take in another movie. Saw Iron Man last week, which was great and well worth it, but this one...just...bleah. We would have done better to stay home and watch re-runs or something. I do recommend heading off to see Iron Man if you haven't yet. The movie was funny and action packed and everything that the reviews have made it out to be. I generally try to avoid movies that are hyped as much as Iron Man cause I always expect to be disappointed, but that one really lived up to my expectations.

Alright I have noticed we have a trend of a member going and seeing a movie and they end up either ranting about or applauding the movie. So heres the deal. You see a movie and want to write a warning or tell everyone and thier personal exploding slayer to go see it, post it here. However don't give away spoilers. We have a spoiler code if you need to but make sure you preface it with a warning.

*About The Strangers*Damnit! I really wanted to see that movie, it looked like a great horror flick (My Fav!)...I'll save my time! TY for letting me/us know!

No prob, Madi. It would probably be okay as a rental as long as your expectations for entertainment aren't too high and you don't think about what it is you're watching. But compared to horror flicks like 28 Days Later and Saw and even less gory movies like The Shining, this movie was just sucky. I personally go for movies that include some sort of theme that makes you think, "Wow...what if that happened to me?" This one had great potential, but, fell way short of the mark.

I know it's late for this review, but when Untraceable was in theaters, me and my wife went to see it. It ended up being the worst $30 spent on a movie at the theater that we saw.

AVP:R, even though the previews were awesome, the movie itself needed work, especially the lighting for it was way to dark. ( We finally saw it on DVD)

My oldest saw Iron Man and said it was fricken awesome. She also enjoyed Speed Racer. Her statement about Narnia was that everyone but Lucy rose to a higher level of "Bad Ass," meaning her complete approval of their fighting.
