Twenty years. It's been twenty years since a Feisar Arms agent went rogue and detonated a nuclear device that turned the eastern district of Ayenee Capital City into so much vapor. Twenty years since the arms manufacturer had upped stakes and fled to one of their colony worlds in another corner of the galaxy. These days Robert DeFeisar's old company languishes as little more than a shadow of its former self, having been thoroughly sidelined by his ex-wife and the Federated Technologies group — a ghost that refuses to quietly sleep, much like its CEO had been.
Relics of the Old World are still floating around, even now. Reliable and easily-customized, weapons and armor produced under the Feisar banner still turn up. Of course, that's not even considering the number of knock-offs gleefully churned out once the threat of a squadron of power armored Feisarites kicking in your door had passed. And so even as the company changed its name and shed its role as a defense contractor Camaryn ensured that there would be company personnel on Ayenee to keep track of these relics and ensure that they weren't used to commit atrocities that would further blacken the company's name.
For twenty years, the Legacy Support Division had been all that remained of Feisar Arms on Ayenee.
Today, however, it seems as if the exile is coming to an end. A small detachment of soldiers wearing sleek, otherworldly power armor and carrying energy weapons are moving through a dilapidated industrial park in the city's southeastern quadrant. They wear cloth mantles over their left shoulders that announce their affiliation to any who cared to look: these are soldiers from the Federated military, the modern-day successor to the old FEISARCORPS.
"The utility services in this area are severely out of date by galactic standards, so we'll need to allot compound space for food synthesis, water treatment, and power generation. We will likewise need on-site medical facilities if we're to provide our employees with anything more advanced than leeches and herbal remedies," says the leader of these soldiers, a small woman with a British accent. Presumably she is addressing the anti-gravity camera drone floating next to her. "But the first order of business will be knocking the dilapidated industry on site down and replacing it with modern engineering. Of course, I think everyone on the board knows that we're going to need to spare no expense in securing the compound..."
