OOC: The Enslaved

The setting resemble is a fantasy world. Unlike other worlds all the races were created at the same exact time. Humans with their ingenuity developed rapidly. From the stone age to tool age, through the bronze age and now currently the Iron age. Every major technology or idea such as nobility, art, metal tools and weapons, and agriculture were invented by humans. All the other races simply borrowed/stole these ideas from humans and used them as there own.

The Fairy Creatures-Dwarves, sprites, goblins, But mainly elves. This race is blessed with immortality and magic. Yet they have no souls. They cannot come back from the dead or invent a truly original work. They belive that humans are both useful and dangerous. They seek to 'domesticate' the race like humans did to horses.

Humans-Also called the beasts of knowledge. The only race that can be resurrected or come back undead. Humans have managed to carve out a decent empire for themselves using zombies as slave labor. The average person is most likely to be an educated and skilled while back braking labor is reserved for the undead. The practice of the living and dead working side by side disturbs the other races.

The Demons-Beings of fire and evil that crave one thing, power. They also have one problem. They can not reproduce. The only way to make another demon is to use a human soul. Hence why they are so intent on getting people to sell their souls.

The Orcs-Some believe orcs were humans infused with demon flesh to make shock troops. Others say they are an elf experiment gone wrong. What ever the case they are here for one thing, To Fight! Orcs live for war, honor, and battle. They work in mercenary bands on all sides of the war.

The Undead-Humans that are neither alive nor dead. They no longer need food, rest, or even to breathe. They are now shambling and rotting corpses though. They retain full sentience and memories of life and perform the back braking labor such as mining and construction, paying the empire back for the lavish life they enjoyed.

The Revenants- The heroes of the undead. They do not rot and are stronger, faster, and tougher then any human could be. Think of 'the Crow' or vampires minus the blood drinking and sunlight allergy.

Death Priests- Necromancy does not exist. Only divine miracles may bring people back to life or create the undead. Which means all 'necromancers' are actually clerics. Unlike magic you can't do what ever the hell you want. If you don't follow a strict doctrine the divine will rip those powers from you. The pantheon was several gods that collapsed into one single god. A single god/goddess with many faces is in charge of life and death.

A death priests job is to allow spirits of the dead to reincarnate into their next life. They are responsible for stopping people from selling their souls, putting spirits to rest and hunting down rouge undead. They also heal and guide the living like normal clerics. They are considered to be the elite of society and often looked up to. In short, good guys. Not evil pretending to be good or some lame crap, actually good.

Wizards- Mages are met with a certain level iffiness. One hand they study and understand magic the other racers biggest weapon. But on the other they are most likely to be seduced by demons and fairy creatures.

Now that you got an idea of the setting. I'll ask the burning question. What do you want to actually DO in this setting? Are you the revenant on a mission of vengeance? A priest hunting spirits? Or joe smoe pulled along? Are you interested in a quest like game or one of those social types?

Come on people! If I'm willing to rp out of my element, don't make me do it with out people around to laugh!

If it gets started, I will atempt, but can't promise anything will be great. I am SO out of practice.

A quest would probably benefit this type of setting far more than a social type. Some kind of goal would be nice and some hefty rewards for getting there that provide some room for another RP would be nice. *shrugs* I'd be a revenant probably...just suits me more but I'd like to know what other people are so we can compliment each other or provide some nice RP opportunities

Well There has tp be atleast one undead hero/revenant type. The others may be death preists or humans.

Well unless the death preist's can be female, I guess I'm rp a human. I'm no good a rp'ing the opposit sex, or at playing a hero.

In essence you are the cleric version of a necromancer. Your God (DEATH) gives you powerful miracles to perform his/her will. As long as your perform death's will your power is seemingly limitless, but if you go against it, your powers are instantly stripped from you.

I hate to drag in White wolf, but a lot of players Know Vampire The Masquerade and I hope this comparison will explain the game. Players are Revenants the opposite of a Vampire. Unlike vampires who have nearly endless time time to achieve their goals, Revenants have a very brief time in this world and know it. They are looking at months, maybe a year at best.

On the other hand they never sleep, never eat, and are always moving. The only thing that sustains them is Mana. Like vampires blood levels, a reveants mana both fuels it's powers and gives it life. If they run out of mana they die out.

So how does a Revenant go about getting Mana? There are two methods. 1. Passion. All revents has a goal and each time he gets closer to his goal he gains mana. Like a vampire gaining will power from his arch type.

2. Gift. Humans generate mana and have a few 'extra levels ' in them. They can GIVE these to a revenant without suffering ill effects. Unlike blood, you can NOT steal, take, or drain mana. It must be willing given to you. So like it or not your going to wind up helping people. Just because you save a kids life by pulling them out of a burning building to get a mana reward doesn't change the fact you saved a kids life. So being painted as a hero after several deeds to sustain yourself is almost unavoidable.

So basicly Sinfulfeline you are wanting to play a normal Human in a vampire game. Unless some one wants to actually be a revenant, I won't run it. Sorry.

Well I *was* going to try here. But your my only player and not Revenant. The more I think about the setting the I feel like I'm ripping off White Wolf.
