Multiversal Aftermath: A comicbook RP

Since our last attempt at a Superhero RP went with a wimper rather than a bang. Todd and I are starting a new one. It will allow characters from right across the comics world: Marvel, DC, Vertigo, 2000AD and beyond. We have a few rules that we're going to implement from the start this time in order to help things run more smoothly. So here's the premise:


Heroes and Villains from the various Universes have been thrown together by a cataclysm, that has transported them to the ruins of a now dead world. The world was once at a technology level similar to our own, and now the crumbling ruins of skyscapers and highways litter the landscape. There is no sign of who or what brough these individuals here, but they have been scattered across an area of about a hundred square miles. Old feuds will be reignited, new alliances will be born. Let battle commence!

The Rules:
  • No more than 4 characters per person
  • Only one uber powerful hero (e.g. Superman, Phoenix, The Sentinel, Apocalypse, the Hulk) each
  • Know your character
  • No autoing of course
  • No character cloning*

*Defined as introducing an alternate universe version of an existing character in order to use a character someone already has. This does not include playing a different version of the same masked identity (i.e. Robin) as not all heroes come from the same point in a timeline.

I totally am calling dibs on Spider man.

I know his history fairly well, but I'm concerned about some obscure fact that I don't know coming back to haunt me. How detailed do we need to know our character?

Spider man, I am keeping.

Magneto, Beast, and Spawn are my other 3, although I will gladly give up any of them to someone who can play them better than I.

I'm putting my name next to Batman right now, but if someone has their heart set on him I may be willing to negotiate.

As for detail, you can get by with as much detail as you can find on Wikipedia as a minimum.

I've decided to drop Spawn. I don't know him well enough. Instead, I'll pick up Venom. He goes better with Spider-Man anyways, as a sometimes friend, sometimes foe.

So, my 4:

Spider-Man
Venom (Eddie Brock variety)
Magneto
Beast

Again, I'm more than happy to give any of these up, except for Spider-Man. I would rather see someone else play them than myself.

Cool. Welcome aboard. I was expecting normal Superman, but the Communist alternative should spice things up.
 
Ok, first off, I know very little about this kind of rp...After much pushing *Eyes SJ* I'm picking Shadow Cat from X-man, the girl who can walk through walls and such. Since I'm not so very into comic rp's I'm only picking one player....
On a side note- I'd better not be the only female player!!
 
I'm tempted to play a character...I really am. Might actually take Magneto off of SJ's hands if he doesn't want him. Aside from that I dont think I want to commit to a slew of characters. Maybe just one more. *starts brainstorming now*

So, with Colvin taking Magneto, I'll be dropping Beast too. I'll be doing Spider-Man and Venom.

Also, I find Deadpool to be the coolest comic character I've seen in some time. Excellent.
 
Yeah Luthor is a must have in this RP I think. I will gladly take Magneto. Need to brush up on a few things but I think I got much of the personality down. *contemplates*

There will probably be more... Well one more, I guess.

Omega Red and Moonknight are both from the most recent timeline, Gambit is from the timeline before New Sun.
 
I'll probably rejoin this myself, pretty soon. Depends on how school goes. I'll take a look at the character list again and determine what I'll be playing later.
