Matron Aranor - Profile and Backstory (Work in Progress)

Major Titles: Lord of Tor'Mhaelgodin, Queens Champion (deposed), The Prince of Lilies (Deposed)
Lands Held: Those lands contained within the walls of Tor'Mhaelgodin and extending out exactly one league in all directions. Any land after that was given back to the people of the land after Matron returned from an adventure he participated in(more later).

Tor'Mhaelgodin: "The Old Home to All" as it would translate is a mid size castle fortress built into the side of a rock cliff with walls 100 feet high creating a perimeter at 10,000 feet from the castle facade. Matron fought his last winning campaign on Ayenee soil to secure his home once again from incumbent Orcs and Goblins after they settled in the then abandoned castle. Now cleansed and purged of the evil he has settled there himself and lived there for several years. The ramparts are enchanted to give far sight, allowing anyone standing on them to summon perfect sight at extremely long distances. There is a way stone in the courtyard that allows Matron to return home from where ever he is as long as he has the attuned way stone with him (More on way stones later). Their is an aqueduct built into the rampart walls primarily for quenching fires set on the walls however post war the more civil possibilties are explored. This place is not considered by Matron to be his, but of the people around him he has sworn to protect. Within its walls it can sustain 5,000 people.

The Barracks as it stands now is more of a militia from the surrounding area. None are held to service however there are several that have fought with Matron over the course of several years and hundreds of campaigns and will rally to his call at any notice. These men are as well, family men and farmers or hunters for the people of Matrons lands. The very generous numbers are:

It should be noted that these men no longer train diligently for battle. They maintain minimal readiness and will take some time to muster when the call comes.

Skills/Talents:
Martial Combat - Matron was trained from birth to be the Champion of the Queen in his border lands home. His family had sired the last 32 queens champions and they would not stop now. For this reason he was trained in several forms of hand to hand combat and most forms of armed combat as well.

Strategy/Tactics - As Prince of Lilies Matron would be given complete control of the Queens armies under Marshal Law. For this reason Matron has been schooled by the greatest General the Border Lands have ever known. Having several Campaigns under his belt he has the field presence as well to command in the thick of battle.

Leadership - Although Matron shirks this more often than not tending to let people make their own choices he is a amazing leader. Never concerned with himself he would sacrifice all that he has for the people under his banner and even those that he calls friend. This type of selfless leadership has garnered him much favor with the population of Tor'Mhaelgodin. For this reason he typically finds allies and friends easily.

Personal Posessions:
Wide Brimmed Black Hat - Kinda a Matron thing, he dueled a very talented swashbuckler type as a youth and won. The fellow had underestimated the effectiveness of a pole arm and paid dearly, not dead, with his sword hand thumb. Instead of taking the mans prized Saber and Long Knife Matron opted for the gentleman's flamboyant hat as he had no use for swords and liked the way the hat looked.

Black Knee Length Jacket - Matrons jacket has a very weak enchantment placed upon it at the beginning of the graying. It was supposed to harden it to the strength of good heavy chain mail. However the spell lost effect and it is simply as hard as very thin chain mail such as an assassin would wear.

Black Riding Boots - Matron has worn this style of boots while in Garrison his entire life except when in his armor which he has not worn in a very long time. These boots have been enchanted to never wear out and give Matron just a small touch of extra foot speed.

Kael'Tal'Dorm Amulet - A medallion on a plain leather cord worn about Matrons neck at all times. It allows him to feel if magic is being used nearby. It does not stop it or negate it. The medallion will glow softly and turn ice cold. It is engraved with a single mountain lily in its center and crafted out of Mythril. For any that can translate the elvish inscription on the medallion they will unlock its true power. It is a "Well Stone" giving its bearer a bottomless well of psychic energy that can be used in many different ways. Matron never cared to know the meaning of the language as it was long lost and hard to find a translation. This medallion marks the bearer as the rightful leader of the region "Tor'Mhaelgodin".

Glaive - A long pole arm roughly six feet long from butt end to tip of blade. The haft is 4 foot of that length and the blade 2. Upon the blade are engraved the same lilies that appear on the medallion. Crafted of Mythril, with a ever sharp enchantment it never dulls and remains razor sharp. It will not cut through strong metal but it will penetrate it at its point.

Jezabel - An atrocity brought forth from the nether realms itself. Jezabel was once a powerful Arch Angel in the heavenly hosts of GODS angelic army. After cleansing the were-beasts from Earth Jezabel could not stop, and had become quite Xenophobic to their kind. GOD upon seeing this wanton slaughter of all were-beast both evil and peaceful ripped her essence from her angelic body and infused it into the Legendary Vorpal Blade of Wonderland (Creative License here). The very one that was used to slay the Jabberwocky. Once completed with that task he cast her upon a mountain ridge in Ayenee. Matron was gifted this sword by Saiyan_Geisha after there first meeting.

The sheath that Jezabel now lives in contains her for eternity until the blade is removed from the sheath. Once Jezabel is revealed tot he light she will grasp for control and attempt to possess the wielder. With each drawing the hold becomes far stronger and more in place until eventually the Spirit of Jezabel will once again be within a body. Once linked there are slight benefits to the "host" however they are far outweighed in Matrons eyes by the deficits. You will always hear Jezabel and her wild rantings in the back of your mind. The benefits are quickness, strength and battle skill to a small increase of the "hos tee's" abilities. You only retain the benefits when the sword is drawn, however the deficits are always there. Only those of great mental fortitude and descipline maintain this for long.

Matron has only drawn Jezabel once since being in possession of her and refuses to draw her unless it is the most dire emergencies and even resists then.

Throwing Knives - Just well crafted Throwing Knives which Matron is proficiant.

Artifacts:

Way Stone - Two stones of simple look and feel one is black and the other white. Place one on the ground and step on it and it will take you to the place of the other.

Gore - An obsidian war hammer wielded by a giant. The hammers length is roughly 13 feet long the head is a massive rectangular thing measuring 2 feet by 2 feet by 4 feet. Nothing is known about it except when the Giant was slain in the caverns below Tor'Mhaelgodin the hammer stayed there as another Giant being invited to move it would not be the best idea.

Timeline:
-Matron was born into the duty of one day becoming the "Queens Champion - Prince of Lilies" to the then Princess Armorlia. His father was current Holder of the title for Queen Lydalia.
-Age 5 Matron began training in martial combat and excelled. Eventually choosing the pole arm as his weapon of choice.
-Age 8 Matron began training in strategy and tactics. He proved to be a gambler on the battle field with a knack for betting correctly.
-Age 10 Matron was named Squire to the Prince of Lilies.
-Age 12 Matron saw combat for the first time in a skirmish with a goblin raiding party. "He did as he was told..." were his Fathers comments about his abilities
-Age 15 Matron Lead a small group of scouts to slow a supply convoy headed towards a rival lord to the south. The group of adolescents did well in destroying the supply line and as well took out 3 officers of the lords retinue. They were reprimanded by Matron's father for "Going Rogue".
-Age 18 Matron took the title of Prince of Lilies as Queen Lydalia died of old age at 93 naming days.
-Age 18 Matron led the Border Armies into battle against Karo_Matsui and his Samurai and Ninja and claimed a small diplomatic victory as he dealt with the potential invasion without blood shed.
-Age 22 Matron is deposed from the position of Prince of Lilies when Queen Armorlia was poisoned. The assassin was found to be a Ninja under the command of Karo_Matsui. Matron swore vengeance but left the title with no ordeal.
-Age 23 Exacted vengeance upon Karo_Matsui at a rivers edge in single combat.
-Age 24 Returned to the Aranor estates in the border lands only to find them burned and his family killed. Only his brother Kelson survived and was currently on a blood mission to find those responsible. Matron joined him.
-Age 25 Kelson dies in combat of the Orc raiders that killed his family. Matron escapes narrowly only after assisting in killing the leader of the group and scattering the rest of the force.
--Matron Meets Effervescia_Fortuna and falls in love. They are wed shortly after and have twins. The son "Theron" and the daughter "Sarah".
--Matron Meets Saiyan_Geisha and becomes friends with her as well. She bestows "Jezabel" upon him and warns of her dangers.
-Age 26 Matron returns home from hunting one evening to find his family has just vanished (Controller stopped RPing). He swore to find them and remains in this search today.
--Matron destroys a coven of vampire living in Ayenee after they cornered him. Jezabel was drawn the first time and the foot hold of the symbiotic link was created.
-Age 33 Matron was taken to Never Land by a magical fairy. Many adventures were had and many lands were explored. THe lands explored were Oz, Wonderland, as well as the Kingdom of Tales. (Im filling space here gimme a break ;-) ).
-Age 39 Matron returns to find Tor'Mhaelgodin in shambles and leaderless. The people had held it together on their own. After proving his right to the land Matron then released it back to those that had taken care of it and kept it relatively prosperous. Matron still knew many of the folks living there and established a militia as well as common trading grounds and brought more unity to the place than was previously there.
-Present Matron is laying on the entry floor of Ironhold bleeding out and poisoned.
