Locks of Love

Something that many of you may not know about me is that I have long hair.

... wait... past tense that. I had long hair.

And I don't just mean a bit long. I mean long.

I'm 6'4". Long, in my definition, was my hair being at my belt line. And that wasn't the tips of the longest hairs. The tips would be about an inch below that.

So, long.

I like having long hair, and I prided myself on keeping it in fairly good condition. Some... acquaintances... of mine would get it fairly long and get to the point they couldn't move a comb through it at, well, all. Me, well, I got some tangles, but just brush it a bit and they're gone.

But... I decided it was being more of a burden to keep it that long, I decided to cut it. And, knowing of the Locks of Love cause, I figured I'd ask if they would donate it for that cause.

So, I get there, get in the chair, say how long I want them to cut it, and ask if they could hack that off and donate it.

It's not something they normally do. They usually don't get people with hair as long as mine was. But they'll try.

Now my hair is short.

In comparison. It's still long, but it's nowhere near as long. Gets just below the top of my shoulder blades. And that's the tips.

It feels weird. The good kind of weird.

Its a good program to donate some hair to if you have hair in good condition. I gave the program through when I was going to cut my long hair which was the middle of my back but my hair was hellish to say the least. Anyhow man the strang feeling passes in about a week, and shower time and posture improves.

There is no greater gift than the one you give of yourself.....

Haha, I'd do it if I liked long hair at all (I don't) and if I wasn't in the Corps. Good on you for not being greedy with your locks.
