Locked out before I was answered...

I was typing of sword by itself. A shield's an equalizer, just as another sword would be I imagine. Never trained with or wielded a shield.

Single sword, singular grip, grappling, thrusting, parrying and disarming
Single sword, singular grip, flowing 8-angle slashing, advancing, withdrawing, fumble and draw [Kogan Ruy Nagareboshi, Mumyo Sakanagare 'ultimate techniques']
Single sword, double grip, flowing 8-angle slashing, advancing, withdrawing, parrying, disarming [loads more to go into detail]
Dual swords, standard/standard, standard/reverse, reverse/reverse; reinforced block/parry, artery garrote, distract, isolation and reinforcement, double arcs, feint arcs, etc. etc. etc.[+ all singular single grip technique, dual grip applicable when double arcing]

So as you can see, it's a mainly offensive style, with few defense mechanisms. Most likely because I've not trained with [and never truly 'faced' anyone with competition in mind since I was 16] an opponent who had the type of skill that would require more than one, maybe two deflections or blocks, before I've reached him -- besides Marcus, who had moved away when I was 16. Forrest, the one currently imprisoned, only trained with me for maybe 4-5 weeks before he was sentenced. Since then, February of 2011, I haven't been doing much but angle drills. -- LARPing lasted from January to May that year, before I was barred.

It's hard to truly explain most of the techniques I've been using, but like I typed earlier, I'm rusty. My doctrine has never been a war-related philosophy, I don't uphold the Warrior Way in my meditations... which are all I have of my 'Old Way' nowadays.

These are the techniques I've trained over the last decade, the most diligently. As for their correct titles, I would never know them. I'm a self-taught swordsman. I've dabbled with pole arm work when I was alot younger [Age 12 to 16 at the oldest with constance, the consistency dropped dramatically after Marcus left], and I'm probably terrible with my form these days. From what I remember, though, polearm was always superior.
