Horror Movie Changes (minor spoiler(s))

Recently me and my wife have noticed that more Horror Movies are finally giving the villians their due endings, they are winning at the end. For example in Ring 2, the ghosts get their win by killing/snatching all. Pulse, the ghosts take everything over. Dead Silence, Mary Shaw wins by killing the star of the movie along with everyone else involved. What do you guys think of this change?

I'm not really a lover of horror films, but it did often strike me as odd that these ruthless killers always failed to get that last retarded cheerleader.

I was a horror Movie Lover for years but that all ended when they did Nightmare On Elm Street 6 : Freddys Dead, and Childs Play 4: Bride of Chucky. Nightmare On Elm Street Was the best and then they have some one defeat him the ways he's been defeated before and its over ? Nah twas retarded. And well Come on Childs Play first off look its a plastic Doll running at you with a butcher knife , KICK IT, oh and it has an equally ugly chick doll, kick that too. *Grumbles and ponders the hate thread*

I love horrror movies, as for the newest change in them? They seem to be making the movies endings a little more like real life

Dude, one thing about horror movies...I love really creepy ones, old school style, or sheer B-movie zombies and vampires and things.

I'm not a big fan of the franchise horror flicks...you know...

Call the damn army.

Nuff said.

I agree with Magus. My favorite horror movies are vampire ones (big surprise ha), my husband thinks i'm insane for liking the B-movie vampires and zombies and stuff (for those of you who know me keep the insane comment to yourself).

I think it is cool that the "bad guys" are finally winning some. I'm a fan of movies with twists at the end, ones that you haven't already figured out half way through the movie (those just stink).

The latest B movie's my household has watched where killer (no pun intended) it's 3 movies, Ginger, Ginger Snaps Back and Ginger Snaps Back-Ginger Unleashed ...Very twisted :)

I love the endings where it's unexpected. You're sitting there thinking that it's over and then dun-dun-duuuuhhhhh! It's not, and you're left with your jaw dropped going, "NO....way...." Hence, I love the idea of the villain winning - not in real life, but in the movies. You always hear about the 'black-guy' being the first to die, or the one guaranteed to die in a movie, and there's always at least one girl and one guy that end up alive in the end. It's about time that they start creating movies that are more realistic. Killer cabbage patch dolls? Please. But 'IT'....now there's a creepy movie. Knowing before hand who's going to die, puts your mind on a completely different focused plane. You find that you're rooting for the villains instead of the innocents. Is that a bad thing? I'm not entirely sure, but it's a movie so who is to say? Van Helsing had the sweetest graphics when it came to werewolves and vampires, but they should have done more with it. They should have let the werewolves triumph. Now that would have been freaking awesome. And having Hugh Jackman be the ultimate bad-assed werewolf....now that's just a whole lot of nummy.

But that's another story.

Good guy wins or bad guy wins, it's still the same storyline. STOP RUNNING UPSTAIRS YOU IDIOTS!

Ever watch Psyche? That show rocks, but there's a line in the Scary Sherry Episode where Gus is like:

Gus: OK, Shawn, listen to me. If I'm gonna go back to that creepy-ass institution that I've been afraid to drive by since I was nine, there's gonna be some rules and regulations.
Shawn: Gus, this is no time for fun–
Gus: Listen, Shawn! I will not enter a room first. I will not enter a room last. I will not investigate any suspicious noises or go looking for a fuse box. And you will not, under any circumstance, leave me by myself without a weapon of some sort. Do you understand and agree to my terms?

That was just....awesome
