Hi folks! Daelan here (yes, THAT Daelan... guy that married Anna? Anyone..? nevermind).

So, I'm looking around the new forums, and they look good. I like what you've done with the place! The look is very streamlined and classy. Damn good functionality to this setup, from what I've seen. But, what's the deal with the RP?

I've never been much for board RP. Too short an attention span, I guess. I like to RP when I have the time and sadly I have little of that free for roleplay. I MUCH prefer the immediacy of a chat room. So do we have such a thing set up or what? Basically, where's the game?

http://chat.yahoo.com is clearly no longer the gateway to fun times (which is fine and not entirely unexpected, but that's a tangent I'm not getting into here). So, what alternative have we drummed up?

I really used to love this game, by the way. Did I mention Ayenee RP is where I met my wife? Seriously, this game changed my life in the most real way possible. So rather than sitting around here posting about the past (which I could do for hours and hours, being a Southern man who loves a good yarn), I'm inclined to find the chat room where Ayenee is alive and well in the present tense! So what's my new URL?
 
Bah... You think that Forum rp's are slow, you have never tried to Rp with the Higurashi club. Every night it is a battle to get in your post before someone else cuts you off. We move so fast that we have to all be on msn to coordinate who is posting next!

Bah, slow forum rp's. You just need a group of people who are willing to get together at a scheduled time and post their heads off.

If you have seen Higurashi feel free to join us as Rena, but don't be surprised if we move to fast for you.

Same here, Ernie! How is AEP, anyway? Life's swell on my end. Anna and I have been kicking the shit out of Rock Band the last couple of days. She's been a bit under the weather, but overall things are good.

Speaking of Anna, she's lying down right now, T, but I'll see if she'll drop in again sometime soon. And I missed the birthday message at the time, but I read it today and it put a fat smile on my face. Miss Madi, you're the real heart of Ayenee! Thanks for thinking about us (Anne and myself, that is)!

So basically there is no single chat location where the Ayenee faithful can go for a real-time tet'a'tet RP fix these days? See, now that's a problem. Seems to me, Yahoo shouldn't have the capacity to force the definitive Ayenee RP into the past tense.

Anybody have any suggestions? IRC seems to work? Anyway, I think it should be addressed. I hardly spend enough time in online RP to justify making a suggestion like that. I only know for sure that Ayenee RP was built on the framework of the chatroom, and in my opinion it works best in that environment.

Aaaand on that note, I'm pretty beat. Off to bed for me!

Also Daelan about your question,We have a sitebased chat program but right now its not so hot. We are working on that, and Dirty came by a few days ago and mentioned a chat that seemed to be filled with Rp. chat.rpghost.com is what he claimed I haven't had a chance to swing by yet though.

The difficulty these days is that everyone is playing in different locales; original Ayenee/A&E/E&A gamers are scattered to the four winds (and beyond).

Mith, remember me talking to you about sharing/collaboration of information/RSS feeds and the like? I'm still getting ideas on that. For example, I've just upgraded our chat app over at http://chat.fantasyrole.org -- I had been thinking I can rig up a completely separate Ayenee chat page for your community (or a means to patch in without preamble), using your logo and whatever information you need. Let me be clear: there would be no fantasyrole.org advertising or any other such bullshit; this could merely let gamers from both our sites get together; i.e. it might encourage more role-play participants.

You know my Y! alias: another_virtuoso, if you have any thoughts or suchlike, reply or let me know 'em. Our chat app isn't too hot, but it should do enough? I can even create custom default rooms, and might be able to rig up here a counter showing the number of people in chat.

I'm the same way, Dael. If I have time and feel like RP, I want to do it in a room with real time interaction between myself and the other player. All this stuff on forums is amusing, but it will never get me into my character's mindset and into the situation developing. If I just wanted to read an interesting story, and not be a part of it, the internet is full of excellent fan fiction authors.

That being said, I'm not around regularly enough to be voicing my opinion either, most likely. ;)

Now, it's good to hear that Anna and yourself are doing well. I always enjoyed talking to the two of you on ICQ back when I still used that program. Hope you guys have mastered Rock Band and are owning the neighbors by now, too.
