I've been given a social forum to run and I'm trying to come up with a decent "Name" for it.
So, if any one wishes to throw a suggestion on here it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance~

Charm, I moved your post, as it was not exactly what would be considered an artistic work. Anyhow As for a social forum, there must be something that it centers on, movies, TV, Games, puppies, human sacrafice, something that the group rallies around if you know what that is it might be easier for us to help you come up with a name for your place.

Is it a single forum within an existing community? If so, what area of interest is the community centered on? The name of the social forum should reflect that if at all possible. If it is an OOC forum in an RPing forum community, what style of OOC is it intended for? General conversation? Silliness and text games? Serious discussion?

All of these things matter if you want a clever name that gives the impression that some real thought went into it. Otherwise, just call it something generic, like 'The Peanut Gallery'.

Yeah, sorry about that Mith, I tried to remove it but it wouldn't let me lol.

This forum is basically anything and everything. It's just a talk about what ever you want. There are boards with specific subjects but they can of course be changed.
The creator has given me the freedom to do what ever I wish with it.

I have a few namey suggestions charm.

1.Freedom for all.
2.The loggin lil chatter lane.
3.The Fresh approach
4.Trinity square
5.Tri-talk
6.The common arena
and 7. The monacle district

Or you could give it a good name.

1. Clambake

2. Nuts & Bolts

3. The Buzz Session

4. Exchange Booth

5. Brass Tacks

6. Yackety-Yak

7. Babble On

Those are assuming that you are naming a single forum within a community and not the community itself. It would help to know what the community's focus is. The forum names within the community should reflect the overall purpose of the community as a whole if possible.

This is a non-rp related forum..
The boards are a range from sharing jokes to the discussion of world news. Silly to serious one could say. Think of it as one sitting at your local coffee shop, or bar, with a friend and sharing the events of your day.

Suggestions:

* Seriousness.

* Silliness.

* Plain nuetrality.

* Something to discuss!

* Be fun but have the heart to be firm when needed.

That about sums up the advice from my end Charmed.

*gazes over.* Or you could give it a good name.

And just what was that supposed to have meant if I might clarify politely?
because that looks like the beginings of either an insult, or a post stating that my names weren't even remotely good.

I just need clarification is all, cause the way it's posted, it leaves me to question wether that was an attack or simply a pun of words.

Thank you :)

If it's outside of roleplay, still consider the above mentioned by me.
Also I have one more to add to the list.

"The Dragons Den."

When quoting someone, you should say that you are quoting them.

You are not clarifying anything, politely or otherwise. You are asking me to clarify. Technically, that sentence does not even make sense.

The word ‘because’ follows a question mark, which means it is the beginning (proper spelling) of a new sentence and should be capitalized. Funny that you ask for clarification (or offer it, actually) when you obviously understood perfectly.

You do not need clarification, since you have already shown that you understood my post. You have misspelled ‘because’ ('cause' is an entirely different word) and you have misspelled ‘whether’. Lucky for you, I have had access to the internet long enough that I have developed the ability to decipher less than literate text.

My post was not an ‘attack’, nor was it a ‘pun of words’. (Whatever the hell that is. Perhaps you should look up the definition of ‘pun’. Here, I did it for you.)

You are most welcome. FYI, that should have had a period at the end. Unless you count that silly emoticon as a period, which I do not.

Now, if you don’t mind, let’s not turn Unholy Charm’s thread into a discussion of how bad you are at expressing yourself in text. Okay? Okay, good. Now sit down until you are called on.

Unholy Charm, I do not think ‘The Dragon’s Den’ would be a logical name for a forum that has no relationship to RP, myself, and have come to understand that you are actually trying to name the entire community, not a single forum (or board, as you call them). That is a bit more difficult.

Naming an entire forum community takes some thought. It must be a name that easily reflects the community’s primary focus, so that people will be tempted to look it over and possibly become a member. You have said that the community is basically a hang out and that just about any topic under the sun can be discussed within its forums. Like a “Coffee Shopâ€, as you put it. That’s fine and dandy, but why would I want to join said community (for example)? What is it about this forum community that will attract new members? In other words, what is its primary focus? Who are its ‘target members’?

Things like that really matter if you wish the community to grow. Although, if it is nothing more than a hang out for yourself and a group of online friends, you do not have to worry so much about such things.

What does all this have to do with naming it? Everything. A forum community needs a name that makes sense and psychologically creates a desire to ‘hang out’ there. The act of coming up with such a name is far easier if you have an overall plan for the community as a whole, and the name of the community is far more important in the long run that one might realize.

Unfortunately, I do not have any further suggestions at this time, but I hope I have given you some food for thought that might help you come up with something on your own. If not, then the more description of the community you can provide, the more likely it will be that I, or someone else, will be able to help you out.

Thankyou all for your help.
If a Mod could lock this now it would be appreciated.
