Hi, everybody! It's been a while. I don't expect I'll be on here a lot, but it's good to see old names.

Also I just found out today that Yahoo Chat is gone. Like, completely.

You hear about Yahoo Chat? That's messed up, right?
 
Welcome back old friend Thalin. It has been awhile since we last saw you. I think you may remember me under my old nic, T-Virus Licker. We did hear about Yahoo Chat, and that it was fully killed by Yahoo around November. Yahoo Chat technically was dead years ago when they killed the user rooms, and let it be stormed by a bunch of bots.

Hope you stick around a bit and come around more often as life allows. We're trying to bring life back to here, but we know its going to possibly be a slow process. Its good to see you again.

Ugh. Yeah, I still remember the day they removed user rooms. Worst decision they ever made; they might as well have shut the whole thing down right then and there.
 
{Grins.} Its good to see that sense of humor of yours again. I do agree they should have shut down all of chat after they killed the user rooms, but we all know Yahoo likes to be stupid.

Argh. I've been here five minutes and I'm already irritated with the post-permission thing. I get why it's necessary, but damn, there has to be a better way.

With the post permission thing, good thing I was around already to approve your posts so you should now be clear to be openly posting now. We had a problem with bots for a bit, but you proved to the system that you're living. The post permission thing is only temporary till a couple posts are made and approved, after that you don't have to worry about seeing it again.

Feel free to look around and start your usual trouble somewhere. Its very good to have you back old friend. I'll catch you laterz for work is waiting. {Grins and fades.}

User rooms were shut down because they had become a big spot where people were tradimg photos and videos of very sick things. We suffered because of a group of perverts and degenerates.

Spartan, as a longtime RPer I can say with some degree of certainty that the vast majority of us are perverts and degenerates, to one degree or another. For that matter, that statement extends outside of the RPer bracket and into the world at large, though some people are better at hiding it than others. Usually those who get the most offended and outraged are the ones doing the hiding. :p But yeah, there's some shit you just don't do on a public chatroom. Still, I wish Yahoo had Found A Better Way. What they did is like dropping an A-bomb to deal with a roach infestation (and never mind the fact that the roaches will still find a way to survive, adapt, and thrive).

But yeah. That's messed up, I just wish Yahoo hadn't decided to chop off the head to cure the headache.

I have since quit using AIM...I dont use many messengers at all except text message on my phone.
