D&D Game

Yes, board-based.

I'm actually hoping someone else wants to DM. If not, I can do so. I kind of expect that I'll end up with the job.

My style of game is set in the Eberron campaign world. If you aren't familiar with it, the major differences between it and a regular D&D setting are as follows:
- Magic is used as a replacement for Technology. Trains, and other semi-advanced items exist, but they are run by magic. Trains(called Electro-Rails) are the newest big advancement. You won't find a telephone, but you will find a shop where you can purchase the use of a magic spell allowing you to talk with someone far away, similar to a telegraph station. The equivilent level of real-world technology is roughly the era of the Wild West.
- New Races to play. Warforged are living constructs. Changelings are mild shape-shifters, decendant of Doppleganger and Human breeding. Kalashtar are psionic humanoids. Wilder, another mild shape-shifter, decendant of were-wolves and human breeding.
- The style leans away from Bash-Down-The-Door and more towards Mystery and Intrigue, although there is a good portion of combat.
- The DragonMarked houses are like magical merchant guilds who control specific areas of commerce. They use special powers to exert control over their respective area.
- New Class - Artificer, who casts Infusions, which are like spells, but can only affect objects, instead of living organic material. He is a master of creating magical items, and using them to their full potential.

My personal style is rather rules-oriented. I tend to be fairly strict on following them, and I have very few house rules. As DM, I view my main job as facilitator, and provider of a backdrop, where your characters are the source of actual Role-Playing. I give good XP bonuses for good role playing of your character.

Ok, we've got some people then. If i can get 4-5 total, it'll be perfect. If we get even more, thats even better.

Unless someone else takes over the helm, I'll be running the Forgotten Forge campaign as a way to introduce you all to the world. Once that runs its course, I'll be throwing my custom-made plots at you, and we'll see how much you've learned.

If that doesn't mean anything to you, don't worry.

Ok, we got enough for a game.

I'll start setting up this weekend.

If anyone else wants to join in the D&D goodness, please, still post here and let us know.

I made an OOC thread in the Table Top forum. Everyone who's interested please migrate over there, and we'll start doing the preliminary stuff.

With the addition of Magus, this game is officially full.

However, if anyone else has interest in a similar style of game, please post here and let us know. If there is enough interest, we can always run two games at once.
