Kilral
HP: 11/11
AC: 18 (Touch 12, Flat 16)

Drawing his axe again, he advances through the plants, roots, and vines without a bother, intent on taking out this foul druid.

((Move Action: Drawing a weapon, Standard Action: Swapped for Move Action: Move 10' east))

Reflex Save (1d20+2) = Natural 20

Phaeder
HP:9
AC:17

Great, was that whole ordeal just another illusion. Was Pacoth herself still under the clutches of the affects of the Satyr's pipes? Whatever it was, it was obvious that he had to prepare himself for battle and with Kilral no doubt ready to go ahead after that crafty druid, he attempted to get himself out of this entangled area, moving to the south to see if he could avoid it altogether and rush his way over there afterward.

((Moving to the South three squares to attempt to get out of the entanglement))

Reflex Save to avoid Reentanglement 1d20+7 = 23

Once out, he'd attempt to move again to the east as much as possible to join Kilral.

(Still unarmed)

Pacoth

With a smile so delicate, it could be made of porcelain, Pacoth says "So, you two have some fight in you? Well, Rakish, you can deal with the dwarf. I'll put an end to this meddling ranger."

From out of the forest comes a what initially looks like a bear walking on its hind legs. However, there is more to it than that. It has feathery fur, and a beak, with large bird-eyes. It is an owl-bear, and it looks hungrily at Kilral before charging towards him.

The owlbear swipes a claw across Kilral's check the size of a frying pan, leaving a set of deep red gashes bleeding through his armor. (6 dmg) Additionally, the bear blocks Kilral's direct path of exit from the entangling vines.

The druid turns towards Phaeder and advances towards him, drawing a slender scimitar as she moves. The blade practically sings as it slices through the air towards his neck. The elf displays skill and grace with the blade, but Phaeder is able to match it for the moment, weaving aside as the blade passes his skin, near enough that he can feel the wind in its wake.

"This forest is mine now. I will not give it up without a fight."

Serenity
HP=15
AC=13
Rage = 6 rounds

She couldn't care less about the forest. What she did loathe was someone attacking here for the mere purpose of forest-domination. If she would have simply stated, "You know I don't want to go back, I want to rule the forest under my green thumb..." then she would have been just fine with that. However the statement of "This forest is mine now. I will not give it up without a fight" caused two things to happen. It instantly sought a reflex that Serenity had when she was three. That reflex when someone says 'this is mine' and the other person states 'want a bet?' She experienced that and at the same time the statement of 'I will not give up without a fight' caused her to nod with a mod malicious grin of bad-intent. Her halberd was going to be fed much blood on this day. As the surge of adrenaline coarsed through her veins and the rage continued to flood her body, she burst free of the vines...

...and dropped to the ground. Moving east (4 blocks) placed her within perfect swinging distance of the halberd.

Round 1
Concluded

Sennoth struggles against the vines holding him, but his struggle is in vain. They are simply too tight for him to escape.

Serenity on the other hand simply lets out a primal growl and flexes her muscles, forcing the vines to expand until they snap, setting her free. She starts moving along through the rough area, hacking a path to freedom, and to glorious battle. With her final steps, she emerges from the entangling vines and roots, and finds herself within reach of Rakish, the druid's companion.

Phaeder
HP:9
AC:17

He could not believe what he was seeing. Who knew that this druid had the intention of controlling this forest for her own benefit all along. He practically seethed now at the possibility that this entire trip for his group was spent simply to find out the woman wanted to do all of this. He remembered one key thing in what Mr. Burrfoot had stated....dead or alive. It would seem he did not have any other choice.

Drawing out his longsword, he sought to engage in melee combat, hoping his skill would not pale in comparison to the druid's.

Round 2

Phaeder's skill does not fail to impress as he leaves a red line running down Pacoth's sword arm.

Kilral evades the vines as they try to wrap around him again, and he carries himself on stubby dwarf legs around the side of the beast, risking an attack in order to move closer to flanking position with Serenity. The owlbear takes a quick swipe at Kilral and fails to score a hit this time. But he leaves himself open to attack from the dwarf's axe. Kilral swings and finds meat.

Pacoth works at finding a weakness in Phaeder's defense, weaving the scimitar in a fluid strike, but fails to find one this time around as Phaeder parries the blow by not more than a hair.

Rakish, frenzied with anger, now slashes its claws at the diminutive dwarf and rips a piece of meat from Kilral's hide, along with a good chunk of his finely manicured beard.

Sennoth's attempt at a spell fizzles as one of the vines loops around his fingers and prevents him from making the appropriate gestures.

Serenity's attack just barely misses the Owlbear. You can even see where a few of its feathers were scraped off its skin.

Map is the same, except Kilral is now flanking the owlbear with Serenity.

Round3
Continued

Kilral roars a might battlecry and swings his axe again, and again, he strikes successfully. {OOC: Critical threat, but no crit}

Phaeder scores another mark against the druid with his blade. Pacoth smirks at Phaeder. "The point? The point is that Burrfoot keeps interfering. Keeps poking his pointed nose in where he's not wanted. Keeps trying to uphold the will of the council. At least when it serves his purpose anyways.

And he sent you to do his dirty work. Between his busy-body attitude and that old decrepit council's rigid adherence to failed ideals, its enough to make me sick. I'll kill you first to show that gnome that he needs to mind his own affairs, and then I'll bring the full brunt of this forest's power to bear against the council itself.

The point, my dear friend, is to show the council that they cannot control the fury of nature. That their futile attempts to put her in check with some good-willed ninny is doomed to fail."

She ends her monologue with a firm puncuation by slicing a long scar open in Phaeder's arm while he digests her words. (5 dmg)

Sennoth
HP: 6/6
AC: 22 ff10 vt12

Sennoth swore. He really felt pretty stupid right now, given that he was about to die and all that.

He tried to wriggle free enough to cast again, but as he was trying to cast again he ballsed up and swore again. Basically he was f@#*ed.

Concentration (1d20+5=10)

Round 3

Sennoth's magic fizzles again but Serenity scores a hit on the owlbear, opening up a wide gash in its hide. It howls in frustration. and turns to face her head on.

Phaeder

AC:17 + 2 (fighting defensively)

As he felt the sting of her blade, he grimaced a bit and looked at her with a serious expression before immediately responding.

"We were simply given a job to find you. Whatever motives Burrfoot held were not our concern. However, if you are trying to control nature in itself to make an example out of them, you are no better than anyone on this 'council' you speak of."

LS attack Take 3 1d20+2 = 4

((Forgot to use the negative modifier for fighting defensively so it would be 0))

"Nature is meant to remain in balance and I cant stand here, watching either of you tip it in each other's favor. You are ruining that which you are supposed to protect..."

Round 4
Continued

Phaeder's attack doesn't even come close.

Kilral makes another swing and doesn't do any better than Phaeder did.

The druid smiles to Phaeder. "What do you know? I don't think I want to play with you anymore."

She steps back slightly and just stands there for a moment, as if her thoughts are elsewhere. A second later, you hear rustling in the bushes behind you. "Why don't you play with Rakish's little brother, while I depart." She smiles and gestures behind Phaeder's back.

Rakish steps closer to Serenity, moving inside her attack range, and swipes at her with its huge claws. (10 dmg) It digs the claws in and attempts to start a grapple with her. {OOC: Serenity, make a Grapple check. 1d20+BAB+STR}
