Creature species: Lathnaq

Intelligence: A highly developed brain the can process information ten times faster then the average being. It is also a highly intelligent and experienced predator.
Size: The size of an average house-cat
Appearance:
Covered with what appears to be black fur,
Its face almost resembles a humanoid’s face but with no apparent nose.
It has two sets of ears, one cat like in appearance, and another as a tiny slit on each side of its head an inch below its main ears.
Its hind legs are in the shape and form of predatory animal’s hind legs. Each foot has four toes.
Its forelegs have upon their ends what appear to be tiny hands capable of grasping, each with five fingers. Upon each finger are longer nails that resemble tiny talons. Each talon is approximately one and half inches in length.
Its mouth appears humanoid in resemblance and is filled with dual rows of sharp teeth. Each tooth resembles a shark tooth. It also has two folding fangs located on the top jaw of its mouth. Each fang is two inches in length.
It has a tiny slit that can open and close at will located a half-inch below each eye. These are similar to a pit viper’s pits.
Its eyes are pure black orbs with no visible iris.
Lathnaq specs:
The Lathnaq’s body is composed mostly of a bio-metallic material. Its nails, talons, teeth, fangs, muscles, and bones are all of this strong material that is natural to the creature. The material is very durable. The solid composition of its nails, teeth, and bones are virtually indestructible by normal means. This material is what gives its nails, talons, teeth, and fangs the ability to pierce through most known metals. Its teeth and talons also have a sharpness that allows them to slice through most known metals.
The creature is also double jointed throughout most of its body, giving it an uncanny flexibility.
The Lathnaq is a very fast and agile creature, able to move at speeds that would make it seem as a black blur to the average creature.
It is able to jump at least forty-feet into the air in any direction with precise accuracy.
The creature’s fangs are hollow tubes which are connected to venom sacs that release a neurotoxin into its victims. It can only release two venom filled bites in four hours till the venom is replenished.
To help save its precious fang venom, the Lathnaq’s saliva is brew of bacteria, most of them septic. Some of the bacteria is from the creature’s home existence while the rest was acquired within this existence. The saliva also contains anti-coagulants to prevent wound closure and healing through normal means. Saliva of this nature can be found within a known creature, the Komodo Dragon. To a normal being, a bite can result in death within hours due to intense infection, blood loss, and flesh degradation due to enhanced rotting of dead tissue. Also do to the high concentration of various bacteria within the creature’s saliva, the Lathnaq also has a natural immunity to the bacteria it comes into contact with.
Each hair upon the Lathnaq’s body is in actuality tiny needles made from the same bio-metallic material throughout its form. The hair is not indestructible, but carries a sharpness that can cause the hairs to penetrate the strongest leather, but unable to pierce metal. The Lathnaq can release a volley of fur similar to a porcupine’s quills. The creature can raise the hairs along it’s body like a hedgehog, or flatten them along its body to make it look silken and smooth. At the root of each hair is a tiny venom sack that remains with the needle-like hair even when released from the Lathnaq’s body. Upon impact, the tiny sac immediately releases its load of venom into the target. The hair can be broken off, but reversed miniscule barbs at the tip make it hard to pull the tip out which can burrow further into the skin via physical movement. The barbed tips can cause an intense itching irritation.
The venom released upon a strike is only lethal to tiny creatures around the same size and smaller to the Lathnaq, but a huge annoyance to others. The venom causes the nerves in the surrounding area to slowly be dissolved. This upon the victim starts out as a minor itching sensation that is added with the barbed tips irritation. Over the period of a few hours, the itching sensation grows to an intense burning sensation as the nerves are destroyed by the venom. The length of time of the venom’s duration varies upon the being/creature that is under its influence.
The Lathnaq has only one elemental ability of fire. In a heightened state, it can super-heat its body to where it starts to glow red, and whatever it touches can catch fire. With this ability, the Lathnaq has an elemental immunity to fire.
The Lathnaq does not have an elemental weakness to water, it just does not like it and will avoid it when it can.
The creature does have elemental weaknesses to lightning and cold. Lightning can actually melt the creature due to its high composition of bio-metallic nature. It is also because of the Lathnaq’s bio-metallic composition, extreme colds can actually stiffen its body and severely hindering it, but won’t kill it.
The Lathnaq has no magical immunities, nor does it carry any magical defenses or offenses.
Its eyes are able to see upon many different spectrums. It can see normally, also see the very energies that make up everything within existence. These are the same energies that also make up and comprise magic, henceforth the Lathnaq can see magical abilities.
The pits below its eyes are able to pick up varied changes in temperature and heat similar to a pit viper, and their location upon its face allow it to pinpoint directions and distance. These pits are able to sense changes within the magical environment.
The Lathnaq has a tongue that can be up to five feet in length, and is covered in tiny reversed barbs to help grasp and hold onto prey. Its tongue can taste the air for any prey within a twenty mile radius. Its tongue is very strong and flexible, able to strangle a large creature to death if given the chance.
The fur upon its body when flattened can stop the blow from most weapons, while their belly is the weakest part of their flesh and easier to penetrate. Their skull can only be penetrated through the back of their mouth, the pits, eyes, and dual ears where their skull has openings within its structure.
The Lathnaq does not contain a heart, but the fluids within its body are able to circulate through their body via muscle contractions along the veins and arteries.
The creature does not need to breath oxygen making it able to survive in very toxic gas areas and situations. Its body is able to intake and change whatever the surrounding gasses within the air and utilize it through bio-chemistry. If all air is removed from the area, the Lathnaq is able to hold its breath for the duration of a couple hours before suffocation.
Creature background:
The Lathnaqs came through a giant gateway that was created by another creature, a creature of very sinister nature. They were one of many species that crossed from the previous existence in which they thrived to this newer one. The existence which they are from is that of absolute evil, an existence that later ended before the birth of this existence.
The creatures are mostly solitary, but can and will hunt in packs, and are even more dangerous when in a pack.
Due to the creature’s tiny size and unknown nature within this existence, most don’t suspect or feel this creature’s true deadly nature, and it can easily be brushed off as something minor and harmless to a point. It is an aggressive creature that is also very patient.
Those that can feel alignments could easily feel the evil and deadly nature of this creature, but most would find it unassuming.
