Well, you've found one of Ayenee's many facets and are ready to join in the fun, but first you need to make a character. Making a character can be as simple or as complicated as you desire. When creating a character, no matter if it's an anteater to a vampire or even a mix of both, it is of absolute necessity that you enjoy playing the character. There are many ways to create a character, from character sheets, to pulling in a character out of a story you've heard. One thing to take into account when recreating a character is that you may encounter opposition as some may find your playing the character not up to their expectations. You can always make a character straight from your mind.
Ayenee is a freeform realm meaning that you can play anything from any mix of genres that you want.
Many people find the best way to make a character is to take one from a story they have seen or heard. Some prefer the Dungeons and Dragons method of rolling dice and setting up a character Sheet. Some people even find a picture they feel needs a story for the person in the picture and start a character from it. Remember that when you have decided how you want to make a character that there are no rules limiting your imagination of the character, but it does help others to be fair when deciding how powerful you are making your character.
Important aspects of a character when being created are name, personality, and description. Others may want you to have a history for your character, but that is not necessary to role play. An occupation and race of your character are often questions that you will be asked about if you did not make mention of them in your profile or your first post into a new room.
Now you have a character that is ready for their new life in the world of Ayenee. Of course, there certain type of places which will fit your characters set-up perfectly, and then there are those that will not. Let us assume your character is a wizard: Most technology role players will not even take stock in a wizard as it goes against that which they are accustomed too. Now with the same wizard you find a nice peaceful forest with a few other role players who are fantasy role players, a wizard will work here where as a "Star Trek" character would be most out of place. Then, we go to the taverns the taverns will more often than not accommodate any and all role play types with in their walls. Now you may encounter people who are biased towards Tech or Fantasy role playing.
There are other forms of role play, other than just finding a room and waiting, or causing a random interaction. What I am referring to is called scripted role playing, where, much like in D&D, there is a Game master (One who decides what you will encounter). Another form of Role play that you will be able find is called board role playing, in board role playing you post upon a message board hoping to create an interaction between yourself and those who use the board much like what you do in chat.
In conclusion things you should want to remember are simply these, Role playing is meant to be fun not a hassle or pain, Your character is your character no one has the right to tell you how to play them or force you to make them do anything. What ever kind of Rp you take on is up to you, but please ensure you enjoy it.
