Why not rp in chat

We have a chat system available on the board. And you're right, board rp is not the same as chat rp. But, there are several advantages. While most, if not all of us came from chat rp, that was a long time ago, and we were all a lot younger. Several of us are married, parents, college students, members of the work force, or a combination of all of them. If you would like to see more chat rp, I would say put a suggestion in the support forum, and we can discuss setting up chat times there.

Well that is an interesting question, I would say the answers are rather numerous in their entirety, but I shall name off the ones I can think off right off hand.

First many of our members, do chat Rp, however not so much in the chat rooms we host here mainly because they are kind of buggy.
Secondly they Chat Rp via conferences on Yahoo messenger.
Thirdly chat clients are often blocked due to security settings at numerous businesses.

So forum Rp happens to work better for some situations. Where as Chat Rp can be fun and usually is it sometimes does not fit into the individuals plans or day to day routine. However you have sparked an interesting Idea I will think on for a bit and see if I can fit it into my schedule of arduous labor.
 
If you were to ask me why chat rp isn't as popular as it once was, my personal answer would be that the older we get the busier we get. Initially when I could chat-rp for hours on end was when I was only working part time and going to school full time. Now I own two businesses, I'm balancing a crashing housing market and having to constantly move from one house to the other in order to get it sold. As much as I love having an instant response when it comes to integrative role-play, It's much easier for me to board-post. That's my two cents. Take it for what you will.
 
sheesh. i work 55+ hours a week in a competitive market place, take care of wifey and a 4 year old, and i still find i have a hour or two to do other shit. i dont like message board rp. never did. u guys should get into chat rp. or if u do, hit me up. my yahoo id is daytimeisforsuckas. i was once vry famous rper. i would like to maybe dabble in it again. thanks for your time.
 
There are some of us that do go into chat, but a lot of us don't anymore due to the user rooms being gone, the rooms going to hell majority of the time with one line autoers, and a lot of spamming bots. I've been into the rooms once in awhile to look around, and only rarely do I see some actual rp going on without someone saying ooc'ly, "u suc, i roc, i leet." My point is, the rooms are not what they used to be, and that has lost some of us rp'ers to the boards.

As for the time thing, I too work a full schedule at a busy job at varying hours, married with two teen daughters. As for me, it does find it hard to find time to rp on a daily basis. Just because you are able to find a couple hours each day to rp in chat, it does not mean everyone else's lives are able to allow them such a time. It also does not mean that just because you choose to spend your couple hours free time rp'ing, it does not mean everyone else does as well.

By the way, to help us understand you better, please work on your vocabulary, punctuation, grammar, and capitilization.
 
I hardly even have time to board RP anymore really. I just look at the boards in between calls and can pull of smaller posts when I have the chance. I feel like I am lagging lots of other people behind because I haven't posted in alot of places but my priorities aren't here...and even if I had the free time to come on here there are quite a few things I'd rather be doing anyway *shrugs* We'll see if that changes at all but anyway I concur with T and with Tifferzzz. Busy busy FTL lol
