David_MacCallister

Codename - Joseph
A shadowed figure stood tall and proud, his breath coming in slow and calm cycles. Crimson blood trickled down his right side and to the tip of the knife in his right hand as he gazed at the dying body of a young woman who once made an attempt on his life. The feeling of power and dominance was the driving force behind his actions and vengeance was the key that opened the feelings to his heart.

Dominic Vincent wiped the blood of his nemesis, Yae Kisaragi, from the blade of his knife as she fell away to the green forest floor beneath her. Yae gasped sharply and in vain as her life flowed away as freely as the blood pumping from the wound in her chest. But instead of feeling the hard impact of the ground against her fataly wounded body, Yae felt comfort and the strong arms of her one-time lover and best friend bracing her from behind.

David MacCallister caught the fallen assassin and slowly lowered her to the ground, his veteran eyes widening at the sight of his friend dying in his arms. The hardened operative felt his emotions tearing at him and a profound sense of anguish as his blood-stained hands were splashed by fresh blood. As he cradled his friend, David swore to himself that he would kill the man responsible for this incident. But he did not have far to look.

Dominic sheathed his knife and stepped away from David and towards a waiting ATV. As far as he was concerned, everything was business as usual, as per the Assassin's Guild rules and guidelines and the Rite of Vengeance. If one assassin kills the family member of another assassin, the second assassin is allowed to take vengeance against the first assassin. When Yae killed Dominic's sister Mia, he was well within his right to counter Yae. If David were to counter against Dominic, then a legitimate contract would go out against David and any assassin could take the bounty, as per the Assassin's Guild rules.

"I swear that I will kill you, Dominic..." David spoke aloud to Dominic as he closed the eyes of his friend, then turned his tear-strewn eyes to his former mentor. David quietly and slowly reached his right hand to his hip, only to discover that his trademark .45 Special Ops Command (SOCOM) pistol was not there. It was then that he noticed Yae had her pistol.

"And if you do, you'll have the entire guild after you." Dominic continued to walk away and retrieved the key to his waiting ATV. He was cold, but an elite member of the Assassin's Guild, and well versed in Capitol City's laws and the Assassin's Guild rules. He knew that his former student was headstrong, but would he violate the principles that he was trained upon?

"So be it. I'll just take on the entire guild." David moved with swiftness and latched onto Yae's 9mm, but before he could take aim on Dominic, a red dot formed on the pistol's action. At the other end of that dot was Dominic's gun, trained perfectly on Yae's weapon. He could fire and David's hand would be severely wounded.

"Then you're a fool..." With those words from Dominic, the entire landscape dissolved and everything became a blur. The sounds of nature and the voices of the two men were replaced by a beeping that was growing louder and louder. Finally, the beeping became very clear and a blinding light shone from the east through paned glass.

David groaned loudly as his eyes finally focused on the blaring alarm clock next to his bed. Sunlight filtered into his bedroom and reflected off of the dull surfaces surrounding him. Another dream, ending the same way again, overtook David and haunted him yet again. It was the same story for over a month now, and it was just as painful as Yae's actual death. The only difference was that David had an empty bottle of Jack Daniels next to his bed every single night and a massive headache every morning.

This was now a routine for the former Assassin's Guild member. His day would start with a shower and several home remedies for a hangover, followed by breakfast on the run and a quick glance at www.ACC.org/AssassinGuild on his computer to see which assassins would be out and performing hits. He would use that information to make good on his promise and eliminate a member of the Assassin's Guild.

But this day would be slightly different than most. He was on a manhunt for someone not affiliated with the guild. This person was an old acquaintance, thought to be dead after meeting the tip of Yae's sword. Yakuza Suboshi of the Blood Lotus Syndicate was rumored to still be alive, and also believed to be the one that funded the hit against Yae and David. Today would be a rather bloody day.

A whole case of life-ending tools were placed before David, waiting to be used after a year of collecting dust. But they would not be used. Another set of weapons would be utilized by the assassin to extract whatever information may be needed to hunt down Dominic, and anyone affiliated with the guild working for him.

.....

Later that afternoon, in the Eurasian District of Capitol City, business was picking up and traffic was becoming heavy. Several automobiles were gridlocked and among those cars were two armored sedans and one limousine. The cars belonged to the remnants of the Blood Lotus Syndicate and a VIP was being transported.

"What's the holdup?" The cold and heartless voice of a man in his thirties arose from the back of the limo. Suboshi, a crime boss for the Syndicate, was very annoyed at the traffic jam, but he hid it quite well. The only thing that betrayed his calm exterior was a minor twitch from his left hand. It was a damaged nerve caused by a gunshot courtesy of David MacCallister.

"Traffic is blocked for quite a distance." The driver of the limo spoke in a fairly common Eurasian accent, and he seemed calm about the fact that he was seated not more than 6 feet away from a convicted killer. Either he was paid very well by the syndicate, or he was very brave.

"Well find a way around it. I haven't got all day." Yakuza Suboshi grunted with anger and pressed the switch to the limo's privacy glass, raising it. The back of the limo was soundproof and with the glass up, nobody could see through either compartment.

Only a block away, a man on a bicycle was maneuvering through traffic at a slow pace. He was dressed in ragged garbs and looked as if he had seen better days. He would more appropriately be labeled as a bum. In his mouth was a cigarette, but it was not lit. His expression was that of frustration, as if he hadn't had anything to eat or drink all day.

The bike slowly rolled up alongside of the limo's driver and the man gently rapped his knuckles on the glass. The driver rolled the window down, scowling at the dirty man next to his car. After several seconds, the bum spoke in a rough voice.

"Hey, you got a light, man?" The bum spoke, eyeing the Eurasian driver. As the driver reached into his pocket to retrieve a lighter, the man on the bike moved the cigarette and exhaled as hard as he could. A small dart loaded with a neurotoxin exploded from the paper and tobacco, striking the driver in the neck.

Suboshi was unaware of what was happening, and began showing signs of frustration. He was angry and finally decided to vent towards the driver, but before he could speak, the limo began to move, pushing against other cars as if they were mere toys. Suboshi, once angry, shrugged and leaned back in his seat.

"That's more like it. A ruined paint job is nothing compared to an angry boss." Suboshi may have been candid for that brief moment, but it changed to surprise as the car began to accellerate and swerve violently. The crime boss yelled in wonder, banging his hand on the privacy glass.

An hour later, the damaged limousine came to a halt and Suboshi, angered beyond belief, depressed the switch to the privacy glass and was surprised to see that there was no driver, but it was dark through the driver's windshield. In the distance, Suboshi could see the dim lighting of Capitol City. Was he out of town?

The door to the limo suddenly opened and a hand reached in, grabbing the Yakuza by the collar. As he came to a violent stop against the dirty ground beneath him, Suboshi glared towards his assailant and gasped. Standing before him was a man thought to have been killed. David MacCallister was a golem, a silent being, and the source of his sorrow seemed to be before him.

"MacCallister?! You should be dead!" Suboshi backed away from David, who calmly approached him. The crime boss showed a bit of aggrivation, but quickly covered it up and pulled a knife from his pants pocket. With the flick of a button, a knife blade appeared from the switchblade handle.

"Why'd you hire Dominic, Suboshi? Can't do things on your own?" David continued to approach Suboshi, but now with a slightly quicker pace. The look of anger and determination immediately took over and the assassin sprung into action, prepared to settle a debt.

The Yakuza swiftly swung his knife towards David, but was surprised when the assassin caught his hand and swerved to the side. This caused Suboshi to lose balance. David monopolized on this and pushed him harshly, towards the edge of a canyon cliff. Suboshi yelled and fought to maintain his balance and finally landed on one knee with his knife firmly in hand.

"Last chance, Suboshi. Why did you hire Dominic?" David stood his ground, leering down at Suboshi. His right hand gently twitched and a metallic click sounded off under his coat sleeves. A pistol dropped into his hand, loaded and ready to fire. It was a small sidearm, loaded with three rounds. It was a custom Section One pistol meant as a last resort only.

"Because I needed to keep Yae busy while I handled you personally." Suboshi growled in response and swiftly charged David, throwing his foot towards him. David immediately sidestepped the attempted kick and threw his knee into the Yakuza's stomach, stunning him.

Suboshi dropped again, but his moment of rest was not long. David immediately followed through with a left cross punch and a high kick to Suboshi's face, which threw him back and towards the canyon's edge. Suboshi immediately rolled off of the edge, but caught onto an extended tree root. He now hung perilously 1,500 feet above the ground. It was a lethal drop onto jagged rocks.

"Care to try again?" David stood at the edge of the cliff and cocked the pistol on his hand. He knew that Suboshi was lying to him, as his response was an obvious ploy. The thought of just merely pulling the trigger and killing Suboshi was tempting, but he had another idea.

"Just shoot me and get it over with! I'm a dead man already!" Suboshi plead with David, who seemed intent on shooting him. He knew that he was dead, as his boss was a ruthless man that did not allow failure. Either at David's hand or his boss, it was going to be a bad ending.

David slowly released the hammer on the pistol and put it away, taking a step away from Suboshi. The panic was obvious, as the Yakuza knew that he was being left to die. After moments of silence, a familiar rumbling sound above Suboshi began to grow louder and louder. Suboshi gazed to the sky in wonder and immediately began struggling to climb when he saw the underside of his limo rolling over the cliff edge.

The limo rolled over the edge of the cliff and struck Suboshi, knocking him off of the cliff edge. The tumbling car seemed to pin the crime lieutenant with every spin, until moments later a fireball erupted from the falling wreckage. Suboshi was consumed by the flame, gasoline from the tank spraying into him as he fell with the car.

David stood silent at the top of the canyon, glaring down at the sight before him. The car continued to tumble, the bright orange flames igniting the twilight sky. With a deep breath, David discarded his bum clothing, revealing himself in his old Section One body armor. Instead of the normal sidearms associated with a Section One officer, he wore new weapons.

Yae's sword was strapped to his left side, as was her 9mm pistol. On his belt were three flash grenades and extra magazines. Lastly, the one weapon that made David the assassin he is today was strapped to his back. It was a sniper rifle, but more compact. It was a Section One-Feisar Arms joint venture, merely in the experimental stage, but David had the prototype.

Capable of firing fully automatic or single shot with impressive stability and a special scope, this weapon was only 1/3 the size of a PSG-1 rifle. It held a clip of twenty special rounds, each one labeled with a specific name. Each round was meant for someone, and a majority of them were aligned with the Assassin's Guild.

David was back with a mission, and that was to avenge his friend Yae, and find Alliana. He had many questions and the bullets in his rifle were the tools to extract those answers. He had to begin somewhere and the flashing red and blue lights in the distance were a good start. A rumor that the Ayenee Police Department had furnished information to Suboshi to give to Dominic meant that a Section One operative or insider was working for the APD.

"Alright Alec, old friend... Let's hear you sing." David knelt to the ground and raised his right hand to his ear. If Alec Hicks still had his codec in operative condition, he would get answers. Deeply, David hoped that Alec had nothing to do with the events surrounding Yae's death, but he had to leave no stone unturned.

But one question would have to be answered before all others. Would Alec Hicks, codename Janus, former operative and co-commander of Section One, answer the call of the codec? David would know if his three short beeps were answered by anything at all. Alec Hicks was up...

Hunting The Wolf

Location: 2310 Venture Drive, Capital City
Time: 1500 hrs

Not much had changed on Venture Drive since the bloody events that took place nearly 4 years ago. It was at this address that a deadly gunfight ensued between two assassins and their organizations. The damaged backdrop of houses still held their bullet holes as no attempt had been made to cover the carnage. There were even spent ammunition cartridges lying in the grass, each one bearing the same marking.

Cars that were once driven by Dominic Vincent and his band of mercenaries were now rusted and caked in heavy layers of bird droppings, and windows were even knocked out of the house by vandals, but nothing was taken from the property. Aside from the vandalism, everything was exactly the same as it was after the fire fight.

But one thing was different. The rain was pouring so hard that the weakened roof of the house began to buckle in some spots. The property was deemed condemned and unsafe for living, however this did not stop David MacCallister from entering the home of his former mentor and friend-turned-traitor, Dominic Vincent. Although things were mired by darkness and the weakened structure threatened to collapse at any time, he continued to venture forth.

David removed the hood of his rain coat and tilted his head back, the rain rolling down the creases of the jacket. He stood inside of the living room, taking in the sight before him. The living room was in chaos, as was every other room of the house. Shelves were knocked off of the walls and furniture was turned to the side. It was apparent that someone was using it for cover during the gunfight.

And off to the side was a piece of carpet bearing a large blood stain. In the center of the blood stain was an indentation indicating a penetration from a narrow weapon. David stared at this mark, his face bearing no emotions whatsoever. He knew exactly what it was. It was the all too familiar marking made by a sharp blade. David's eyes slowly wandered to his left side where Yae's sword was resting. The width of the blade would correctly fit the hole. So Yae was here...

After a moment of reminiscing, David moved towards the inner sanctuary of Dominic's bedroom, where he found most of the room intact. After a careful study of the walls, he saw the reason. The walls were so solid that a bullet of moderate caliber would bounce right off and a high-frequency blade would only scratch the surface. This would mean that this room's contents would have a higher chance of surviving the fire that engulfed it not long ago.

The rain continued to pour, harder and harder until a deafening roar surrounded the house. But Dominic's room was dead quiet. David used this moment of peace to rest and search through his former friend's belongings for anything useful. If there was something Dominic knew better than anything else, it was to keep resources open by either remembering them, or recording them.

After what seemed like hours, David arrived at a wrecked desktop computer. The case was ruined and the screen was shattered. There were no signs of salvageable material, until David spotted something in the room. It was an old Section One armlet with a built-in communicator and screen. It also had other inputs to allow access to computer systems. But one thing stood out the most. The screen was blackened and seemed to have a glow around the edges.

David reached for the screen and surmised that the device was broken, but he had to try. After switching the screen off, David saw a black residue on his thumb. It was almost like paint, or a magic marker. The screen immediately wiped clean, revealing a live camera feed. At that moment, David began to peer at the screen, studying it in detail.

As he was about to place the armlet on the ground, he noticed the image move, as if someone had moved it. The screen blurred out of focus for a moment, then back into a sharper image that depicted a man in a darkened room, knelt down holding something. David continued to study the image and then moved his left hand to the side. At the same time, the man on the screen did the exact same thing.

It only took one more second for David to realize what was going on. In a blur, David whirled into a circle, drawing his newest machine pistol, courtesy of Yakuza Suboshi. The weapon aimed towards a closet and fired in a rapid burst into the empty darkness. As the shells hit the ground, silence followed the gun blasts and a series of sparks flew from the darkness. David stepped towards the closet, and sighed in frustration as he noticed a camera that was now destroyed thanks to intense gunfire.

"Why would there be a direct feed from this camera to the armlet?" David spoke aloud to himself, but surmised that the answer was obvious. If Dominic was wearing the armlet, he could hide in perfect cover and watch people enter via the camera's watchful eye. Little did he know that he was also being watched from several miles away.

After several more hours of searching the home, David managed to find a set of keys and a hard drive that would work. He hoped that these tools would be enough to get a lead on Dominic's whereabouts. Of course, he could always log onto the Guild's message boards and be discovered immediately, but that would be too easy.

When all was said and done, a black trans-am left the property with a load of equipment in the trunk. However only a mere two blocks away was a four-door car painted in black, silver and red bearing a golden star on each side and a red and blue light bar on the front and back bumpers. Ayenee Capital City's finest were in the area...

Loose Ends (To the tune of "City of Evil" by Avenged 7X)

Thunder rumbled violently in the skies above Capital City, with luminescent strands of lightning coursing through the dark clouds. Although the sun was about to rise, it would be a dismal day in Capital City with the report of more showers throughout the week. The weather limited the number of people that would take to the streets, meaning that there were less observers to witness any wrongdoings. But it would also mean an increase in the number of police units.

Adding to that rumbling was the engine of a trans-am that was rolling through the streets of Capital City. David was seated behind the wheel, on his way to the center of the city, where there would be a higher chance of encountering an APD police unit. But he had to go there to locate one object of interest. The keys located in Dominic's home were David's point of interest, and he knew what they unlocked.

The GPS navigation screen in David's car was connected to a computer that had the capability to extract critical information by scanning objects, hard drives or whatever a person had in their possession, by utilizing a simple search tool. In this case, David scanned the hard drive and the keys and a GPS location was illuminated on the screen. David was currently en route to this location.

The GPS screen also displayed another interesting thing. There were a series of red arrows with flashing red circles around them. These were moving and active police units. Each police unit had a special transponder that linked them to the APD's incredibly advanced monitoring system. Hacking it was next to impossible. But when you're friends with Alec Hicks and he's not looking, you can learn a lot. Like the transponder codes.

Several minutes later, David was deep within the commercial district, his car parked near several storage containers. Each storage container was locked and the GPS and Computer scanning system determined that one of the containers would be unlocked by Dominic's storage key. As David approached the containers, though, he felt that things were going too smoothly.

David was soaked by the rain, but he would soon find shelter within one of the containers. The microcomputer on his left armlet suddenly flashed as he passed one of the containers, indicating that he was in front of the required door. The key fit perfectly with the lock and with a slight twist, the door clicked and flew upwards like a garage door. It was dark within the storage container and the automatic lighting system seemed to be disabled.

"It can't ever be easy..." David entered the storage container and sought shelter from the downpoor. A single click resounded from the darkness and a beam of halogen light flowed from David's armlet. It's built-in flashlight was bright, illuminating everything within the storage container.

The assassin was amazed at what he saw. There were enough weapons to begin a small war against a major faction, or... Enough arms to supply a small, trained mercenary force to take over an entire city the size of Capital City. As he gazed at the instruments of death, he didn't notice his armlet's microcomputer.

The link between his car and the microcomputer was being jammed. The compartment inside of the container was shielded against electronics, even through the open door. The dampening field was blocking the information being displayed on the car's computer from reaching David, and if he knew what was on the screen, he would be gone within a heartbeat.

Several red arrows were blinking on the GPS radar screen of David's car, and all of them were converging on his location. However the range of the GPS radar detection was only 3 miles and they were on the outer edge of it. David still had time to do what he had to do, but it wouldn't be much and seeing as he didn't know what was going on, he was oblivious to the fact that he was about to be trapped.

Continuing to pilfer through the weapons, David came across a long, wooden ornate box that was all to itself on a table. The table itself had small Eurasian candles which were not lit, but the wicks were burnt. David leaned close to the candles and inhaled, feeling a sensation of alarm flow through his body. The burning smell was fresh. It was very fresh. Someone had just been there.

David reached towards the box and opened it, revealing a satin cloth over a long object. As he removed it, he saw the emblem of the Blood Lotus Assassins, but he didn't recognize the sword sitting there. He had Yae's sword by his side, then swiftly raised it to examine the markings. Each Blood Lotus Assassin sword had the organization's emblem and one more emblem indicating a particular group of assassins, and David was shocked to see that it matched.

"How in the hell..." David reached for the weapon in the box and pulled it free, noticing that it was a sword exact to Yae's, but he still didn't recognize it. It seemed so familiar, but he couldn't place it. As he drew the blade, his eyes widened at the sight of fresh blood dripping from the scabbard, and the emblem on the weapon's bloodgroove became visible. It was damaged.

The curious mercenary wiped the blood from the emblem and studied the inscription curiously, only to discover that the emblem was exact to the Section One emblem on all of their equipment. It would make sense, but David knew that Dominic did not use a Section One HF Sword. At that moment, David realized who's sword it was. Everything flooded to him within an instant.

"Renard Dyne. Former Section One Alpha Team Operative... But I killed you..." David recalled all too well. Renard Dyne was an extremely well-trained operative that worked for Section One's Ghost Operative unit. He was trained by Dominic and was said to be a better marksman than David, but that was put to rest when David put a bullet through his forehead at point-blank range several years ago.

"That you did, David." At that, the internal lighting of the storage container blazed to life, revealing David and another man standing on the outside of the storage container. As David whirled around to face the source, he was shocked to see a man in a Section One tactical body suit, holding an automatic rifle.

"Dominic!" David yelled in anger and charged towards his mentor Dominic Vincent, unleashing the sword in his right hand. The grip on the weapon felt so familiar, but it was the farthest thing from what was on his mind. As David approached, he raised the weapon above his head, vengeance filling his heart. While he was indeed acting on impulse, he had no idea that Dominic was not alone.

A figure suddenly emerged from the darkness of the right far side of the opening to the storage container and swung an object at David. David noticed this and moved the sword in his hands into the path of the object, only to feel several thousands of volts coursing through his body. David yelled in anger, feeling his body betray him, every nerve convulse, every muscle spasm.

As swiftly as it began, it was over and David fell to the ground, unable to move. Dominic approached David, moving his rifle to the side. From the other side of the storage container was a man holding a stun baton with a blade on one side. He was almost Dominic's build, only a bit taller.

"David I want you to meet my partner Renard. I believe you killed him." Dominic spoke and stopped above David, showing no emotion as he gazed down at his stunned pupil and former friend. He then turned his eyes towards the sword that David gripped loosely and stepped on the hilt, launching it into the air and into his waiting left hand.

"We should off him right now. You know that he's got friends in high places." Renard clicked the switch to his stun baton, causing the weapon to collapse into a 4 inch long cylinder. He placed the weapon on his belt via the clip located there, then extended his hand to Dominic. Dominic gave him the sword, which now bore a burn mark and a chip in the blade from the shock prod.

"No. He wanted me so bad. I'm gonna give him his chance to kill me." Dominic knelt to the ground and grabbed David's face, turning it to face him. He glared hard into David's eyes, then violently pushed his head into the concrete. There was nothing that David could do. He was paralized from the incredible shock.

"Well then he should die like that slant-eyed bitch and her mother." Renard was cold and regarded Yae Kisaragi in a vulgar manner. But her mother, too? Yari Kisaragi? As he finished speaking, Renard turned his eyes towards Dominic, who was glaring at him in confusion and anger.

"Wait a second, what did you say? You killed Yari?" Dominic stepped over David and took a firm, two handed grip on his rifle. He was angry beyond all belief, but he didn't show the extent of it. To him, Yari Kisaragi was an innocent and was not involved in the workings of the underworld, therefore she had nothing to do with anything.

"Yeah, Dom, I did. We had to make sure that we had nobody following us." Renard glanced towards Dominic and his rifle, and then towards Dominic's right hand, which moved towards a cellular phone clipped to his belt. He was curious, staring at Dominic, then towards David.

"Merc Guild... Unauthorized homicide. Killed subject is Kisaragi, Yari, by Black Dragons operative Dyne, Renard." Dominic spoke into the phone to the voice authorization center of the Merc and Assassin's Guild. The computer on the other end would immediately process the information and reply within a minute with crucial information. But the authorization came quicker than usual and Dominic listened to the voice on the other end.

"What are you doing, Dom?" Renard raised an eyebrow and stepped towards Dominic, gripping the hilt of his sword a bit tighter. He was thoroughly confused and not well-versed on the laws and rules of the Assassin's Guild, but he was a proficient killer. However without knowledge of the rules of the guild, you were just a killer.

"Renard, did you know that you have a bounty of 75,000 credits on your head, courtesy of the Blood Lotus Syndicate, for killing someone under their protection?" Dominic tilted his head to the side in question and stopped, lowering the phone to his hip clip. As the phone fell into position, Renard replied.

Before Renard could say anything, Dominic raised his rifle and pulled the trigger, unloading a three-shot burst into his left leg. Renard yelled out in pain and dropped to the ground, feeling the hot metal slugs in his leg. He then turned back towards Dominic, cursing, only to find the barrel of the rifle pointed right at his heart. Silence filled the chamber, as did the smell of gunpowder.

"I can't have a loose cannon on my team." Dominic immediately pulled the trigger to the rifle, unloading another three-shot burst into Renard's chest, each round tearing his heart to pieces. Renard gasped loudly, clutching his chest for a moment, then fell silent after several seconds of agony. Dominic switched the rifle in his hands to safety, then turned towards David, to find that he was starting to move again.

"You have my appologies MacCallister. Yari was like a mother to me too. Now I advise you to leave. I'll forward half of his bounty to your account." Dominic stepped away from David and towards the open doorway, the rain pouring over him again. The expert assassin turned his eyes towards the streets and nodded towards the sight of flashing red and blue lights on fast approach. Sirens could be heard as well, indicating that the city's finest were very close.

Dominic immediately took off on foot away from the storage shed, leaving David with the corpse of Renard Dyne. All of the approaching police units suddenly broke through the liftgate of the storage parking lot, swarming the property. A majority of the units converged on the storage shed that was open.

Police officers flowed into the container, only to discover one dead body and several bullet casings on the ground, but no David MacCallister. David's trans-am was still located outside of the building and it would more than likely be towed to an impound yard, or worse.

A day later, an inventory control clerk took count of everything inside of Dominic's storage container and of everything that could have come up missing, only two items were gone. The Blood Lotus HF Sword that belonged to David MacCallister and was in Renard's possession and a small shoebox-sized container with funding were nowhere to be found. David's trans-am was also gone, towed away to an impound facility to be checked out by Capital City's forensics department.
