A long time ago, I said that if I ever came back to Ayenee.Org, it would be because something went horribly, horribly wrong.
Ladies and gentlemen, it is with my hat in my hands and my head hung low that I must tell you that that day has come, and we need YOUR help. No doubt by now many of you who are still active in Yahoo!Chat have noticed the latest debacle. For those of you who have not, here is a quick recap.
On October 16th, 2008, Yahoo rolled out the first phase of its new Yahoo! "Open Strategy," which is essentially the effort to turn Yahoo!Messenger into a Facebook-like social networking application.
How does this affect you? Check the chat profile associated with your screen name. Yes, your profiles are gone.
Yes, in some cases, this move IS illegal, especially if your private infomation is now exposed to anyone who wants it.
No, Yahoo does NOT plan to fix this problem, they are too busy thinking about "moving forward."
No, it is probably not possible to recover your information (some exceptions apply).
No, Yahoo is NOT answering the hundreds upon hundreds of hostile comments this poor decisionhas caused. They are "reading and listening," which in my company's own jargon equates to "sitting on our thumbs and waiting for you to go away."
I am pleased to report that a friend and I have worked out a solid plan to kick the Yahoo administration in the balls. I never would have thought I would find myself in such an adversarial position (funny how roles switch like this, eh, Ceros?), but this is my limit - I feel I must take action of some kind.
In the meantime, however, I would like to beg the assistance of any Ayenee.Org roleplayer who has been impacted by this horrible change. Those of you who are righteously pissed off about the damage that Yahoo has caused, please click the link below.

This is a petition. It does not sound like much, but the more signatures we can get, the more it will help my own case as I work to contact the advertisers who appear within Yahoo!'s chat rooms and present them with evidence of advertising fraud that I have been quietly sitting upon for years.
The more of you I can get to sign this petition, the stronger my case will be.
For those of you who are NOT righteously pissed off yet, please click this link instead.

This is the Yahoo!Profiles blog, spearheaded by Melissa Daniels, a community manager tasked with monitoring our comments. She is supported by project director Jim Stoneham, development community manager Robyn Tippins, and products manager Cody Simms.
You will notice there are almost 2000 comments. The positive ones can still be counted on one hand. There is very little that has not been said, but you should definitely go ahead and say it anyway.
I appreciate your taking the time to read all of this, and I hope that no matter how small, any community of like-minded individuals will be able to fan the fire and help make a difference.
