R.I.P. Chris Cornell

A legend in his own right and seemingly ageless man Dick Clark has passed away after a heart attack. I remember watching him on American Band Stand when I was little. He will be remembered and missed. Rest in peace Dick, may you continue your undying spirit and dancing in Heaven.

Well at least we all know he wasn't a robot or an alien. I swear that man barley aged in looks, he looks al most the same as he did when I was little! :)
R.I.P - You had a long a memorable life!

R.I.P. Michael Clarke Duncan, I will remember you for some of your many roles that you have played, John Coffey in The Green Mile, Kingpin in DareDevil, Balthazar in Scorpion King, Attar in Planet of the Apes, and especially Bear in Armageddon.

You will be missed. Rest in peace Brother.

Over this Christmas weekend and week we have lost 3 beloved celebrities.

We first lost George Micheals whose songs I personally have enjoyed.

We then lost Carrie Fisher who is better known as Princess Leia of Star Wars.

And then the day after her daughter Carrie Fisher's passing, we lost Debbie Reynolds who was best known from Singing in the rain, and from the Halloween Town series as the Grandma.

May they all Rest In Peace as they are no longer in pain, and live forever within our memories.

His voice was so unique. It says dead from suicide. Only 52. That's too bad.

As an old Ayenee original, I'd like to say this right here and right now. Death has been one of the focal points of the history of Ayenee. Just like in the real world, but even more here, Ayenee players have always been fascinated with death. Mainly because we are typically deep thinkers.

I would rather any of you, to talk here, rather than feel hopeless. And if you know anybody feeling down, young or old, tell them to come to Ayenee. We can talk to them and maybe offer some solutions. Death comes for us all. There are so many other things you can do with you time. It will end eventually anyway.

RIP Chris Cornell.

May is mental health awareness month on top of everything. Yeah if you are thinking about ending your life, do yourself a favor and just talk to someone about it. The way Chris went was just strange, right after performing he went back to his room and hung himself. I can't even imagine what would make someone do that. You stand there in front of adoring fans and then go back stage and decide you want to take your life? Something more had to be at play, I know he had some depressing lyrics in his soundgarden days, but I thought things had gotten better with audioslave.

Hopefully it was just drugs, because otherwise it would just be too sad.

Drugs can make you do almost anything you can imagine.

Worst day EVER I have been playing his music all day. Such a tragedy and totally unexpected. At first I thought it was one of those hoaxes. I wish it had been. Truly a sad day. Layne Staley was bad enough.... but Chris.

Some of the lyrics in audioslave are quite depressing but it's also up for interpretation to the listener.

I think it makes a lot of sense. A lot of stage comedians have said that they're "manic" or "high" when they're out on stage doing their thing and then when they're off stage they're depressed and drained. I imagine something similar goes on with musicians. Some people go out and get their favorite food first, but Chris went out and experienced his favorite feeling.

A lot of Chris's music was rather depressing topically while he was in Audioslave, but there are other songs from his solo career as well that speak of where he was at. From his music it feels safe to conclude that he was in a lot of emotional pain. His life was a weave of turmoil and internal strife. It seemed as though he clung to the idea of himself and what he had done, but the overwhelming dread he felt about the world around him and the fight he had himself really just finally likely got the best of him.

This was an extremely overwhelming thing to have heard, especially since a month prior my wife of 8 years had walked out the door. Chris's music had been what I needed to hold me together and to just wake up one day and have your soon to be ex-wife offer her condolences that the most influential musician in your adult life had ended it all was devastating.

I agree strongly with the sentiments above. There is always someone who is able to be there, however, the most important person you need to be there for you is yourself. If anyone who ever reads this has ever thought about the meaninglessness of it all and feels like maybe there is no point in carrying on, please know that you don't know the impact you have on people, and you will not know it when you are dead, but those that love you will. There is always a reason to carry on. You may not know it yet, but there is always a good reason.

((Also, sorry this got a little too feelsy. However, I'm not taking it back.))

In addendum, I read the the toxicology reports today. I didn't know they had been released. Medications are no substitute for treatment and in many cases can be more dangerous. It only takes one day of a bad concoction to take you far from yourself.
