Flash Chat, do you guys use it?

I was messing around with the flash chat the other night and today with Courtney and Marco and was wondering, does anyone use it to RP? I have always been a liker of real time interaction and since the loss of user rooms in Yahoo Flash Chat seems like it could be a good alternative.
 
Indeed, I, when I get a chance would like to see The Tavern would about 20 people RPing live, interactively with each other like we used to on Yahoo...
 
Yeah, I know that the flash chat might be a little laggy at times as I have seen but it is a central location. People told me conference is better and it does have better latency but the problem with that is it would require separate people contacting each other and then getting invited where as the flash chat is there and were all already parts of the forum community.
 
I'll be honest. I'm less than impressed with the chat system. Its very pretty and easy to use, but its laggy, and it loses posts sometimes.

I'm hoping to find a better alternative in the near future.
 
I really haven't had to many problems with the lag and never lost a post. But I am grabbing at hopes that I can find a sense of real time interaction in RP again in a public display, not closed conference sections. Although those can be nice too but it restricts forming new connections in RP aside from forum posting.
 
I hate to break this to you, but with the public chat rooms defunct, I'm afraid the boards are really the only public meeting place for new people left.
 
mIRC servers arte good for rp but they can be a hassle to DL install and set up. (microsoft Internet Relay Chat) While the flash chat is centralized it is easier to invite people to confrences and get them to join on Yahoo.
 
Its not called microsoft Internet Relay Chat. No-one knows what the m in mIRC stands for. mIRC is good for RP though.

I've RPed in Flashchat in the past, but I tend not to see people in there when I'm online.
 
The Flash chat has been used for Rp in the past but often times because of the lag issue, and the post eating which is tied to the lag, and the frequent dropping of users of late it has not been used.
 
I always thought the M was for massive, iono. Oh well, I hope something else gets thought of, I miss the old days where there were like twenty people at any given time in a tavern and you could randomly find any kind of RP you wanted. Memories memories memories. I think I'm going to cry.
