OSC-01 swiveled her head cleanly around like an owl to face Reman and Keith while Juryrig babbled himself around in circles.
"Yes. this is BTC-03, an old friend."
Ferrus fell silent for a moment, eyeing the familiar blunt side of a blade pointed ahead of their face. He raised his massive hand, brushing the floating glaive to the side like a fly.
"Tara," he mused, although with an air of disappointment. OSC-01's head snapped back around to face the large golem, raising a finger. Ferrus continued the conversation in the foreign dialect. Quite frankly, the entire thing sounded like
gibberish.
"Don't take it the wrong way, but I didn't expect you to be the one making a wake-up call."
OSC-01 retracted all but one of her glaives, keeping it in her off-hand to conserve energy. She rose, meeting the golem with a flat but equally intelligible response.
"Good to see you too, buddy."
"...Sorry," replied the giant knight as it looked away briefly.
"Where is Avani? I heard one of her rounds."
OSC-01 reeled back slightly at the sudden question, though it sparked more concern than anything.
"No sign. I thought she retired here with you."
"She did. But did you not get my message?" Ferrus looked briefly over at Juryrig as he finished his own delusional monologue. The small talk between the two black and white androids were interrupted however, as an ambush was launched from the ceiling.
A disjointed ball of grey and green metal landed with a thud where Keith once stood, quickly rolling out into it's full form. It was another machine like the one thrown through the door earlier, somewhat humanoid in shape. It was shorter than Keith, particularly due to a hunched posture, and had an overly large axe-shaped head, giving them a
vaguely birdish appearance. Keith could quickly notice a batch of
Overseer optics to the side of the robot, much like the ones in the skull strapped to his side. The robot rolled off it's heels and knees into a full stance, swinging at Keith's gun-toting wrist with their elbow- which happened to be built around a circular saw blade.
Around the Nave, similarly built Gargoyles lunged from their inert perches behind banners, landing with a roll. One such machine landed directly in front of Marie and Deimos. Alongside the one that fell, the damaged Gargoyle had managed to peel itself off the floor and was making its way towards the rest like a mindless drone, with uneven steps. Each one of the robots had similar construction, but varying differences in material. It would appear the robots were made to be functioning but easily replaceable, utilizing the scraps from various... things for their armor. Plently of exposed, raw metal however.
The two Gargoyles gave little time to react, slinging themselves towards the two explorers in synchronization.
Another Gargoyle landed on the already flattened remains of Munchie, staring Juryrig down as it revved up its elbow-mounted saw blades. with a flick, the saw blade was released from the arm of the machine and flung briefly between the more well-manufactured fingers of the Gargoyle. The end result was a full-speed saw blade being thrown directly at the Alchemist.
Around OSC-01 and Ferrus, a whole batch of the invaders fell. OSC-01 spun around, bringing her polearm to the ready as her head jutted around to spot the various robots. Six in total. Likewise, Ferrus stood back to his full height and grumbled some foreign swear, looking for the nearest one. One final Gargoyle descended, landing
directly on top of Reman with its axe-like 'beak' cleaving into his armored shoulder.
Hallway
Dahlia found it difficult to just shrug off the situation, but she pressed her weight against the door alongside the others to no avail. After a few budges, she stopped to take a breath- coughing from the dust and smoke.
"It's no use!"
The rattling stopped as two Gargoyles fell between Arbitrated and Mikodimus, ready for an ambush. Fortunately, the first landed right in the bubble of potential energy Mikodimus has been storing for the returning Overseer. Mistakenly, the robot was launched towards the door at high speed, slamming into the door frame right above it. The sudden projectile sent Dahlia and Rhea reeling, and the robot was snapped practically in half the by impact. The force of the Gargoyle hitting the door frame was enough to knock some of the debris loose, cracking the door open. The snapped Gargoyle fell to the floor, spazaming dangerously as it tried to self-right without hips or legs.
From the basin of the stairwell leading up to the landing, Caesar could see the second Gargoyle revving up it's saw-blades for an attack behind Arbitrated in particular.
