Community Rules & Guidelines

The Ayenee.org Network is a community created by and for the gamers who enjoy the freeform textual role-playing experience that has come to be known as "Ayenee" by thousands of users across the world. This Network is a service that has been brought to you by the Ayenee.org Network Administrators free of charge since the Network's origins as the now-legendary Kellindil website. Anyone is welcome to take advantage of these services and resources, provided that they are willing to comply with the following Ayenee.org Network Community Rules and Guidelines (referred to as the CRGs). The rules and guidelines here apply only to this website, referred to as "the Ayenee.org Network" or simply "Ayenee.org", the term Ayenee itself refers to the realm, which includes not only this website, but others, and the expanse of Yahoo! Chat itself. By registering with and/or interacting with any aspect of the Ayenee.org Network, you agree to comply with the rules and guidelines below.

Disclaimer: These rules are subject to future changes as issues arise, as some scenarios are beyond the humble imaginations of the Administrators. When a new rule or a severe alteration is to be made to the rules a community vote shall be called to determine if the community believes such a rule or alteration to the initial rules is needed.

1) The Ayenee.org Network is not a democracy. The Ayenee.org Network is a privately-owned organization which is brought to you free of charge by the Ayenee.org Network Administrators. While the administration tries at all times to take user opinions into consideration, the Ayenee.org Network Administrators reserve the right to ultimate authority regarding all aspects of the community. The Ayenee.org Network Administrators reserve the right to take any action they deem necessary to maintain order and stability within the community, including in those situations not otherwise outlined in the Community Rules and Guidelines.

2) Any act by any user to circumvent the actions of the Administration or the Moderators may result in immediate removal from the community (Banning). Duration of removal is at the discretion of the administrators.

3) Anyone is welcome to view the Ayenee.org Network, though many features within the Network will require that users register a user ID with the community before access will be permitted. If you do not wish to participate in these features, then you are not required to register. We are not, however, responsible for unregistered users.

4) If you aren't enjoying the atmosphere of the Ayenee.org Network, don't hang around and slander it. If you think that you could honestly do better without the Ayenee.org Network in your gaming experience, then feel free to leave peacefully. Nobody will hold you here against your will. If you find your only contribution to this community is to antagonize others and their opinions or ideas, then that should be a good hint that perhaps you'd be better off without Ayenee.org

5) While inside the boundaries of the Ayenee.org Network, all users are expected to carry themselves as respectable individuals. Users are required to treat each other with respect and civility at all times. During your time with the Ayenee.org Network you will almost certainly encounter individuals with whom you do not agree. Regardless of personal feelings towards another user, it is strictly forbidden to personally attack another user with in The Ayenee.org Network. Any form of harassment to other users is strictly prohibited, and will be dealt with accordingly.

6) Anything disruptive, inflammatory, or otherwise inappropriate can - and will - be modified or removed by the Moderators and/or Administrators without warning or explanation. Undoing staff edits or reposting deleted material is strictly prohibited. Administrators and Moderators also reserve the right to lock topics to prevent further inflammatory or irrelevant posting. Creating new threads for the continuation of locked ones is strictly prohibited. Deciding what material is and isn't inappropriate is at the discretion of the Ayenee.org staff members. Below is a list of some examples of inappropriate post material. This list is by no means all-inclusive.
  • Threats to other users
  • Excessive vulgarity or profanity
  • Racist and/or sexist material
  • Remarks that antagonize another user
  • Pornographic material or material that is sexually suggestive in nature
  • Information regarding illegal material
  • Impersonation of another user
  • Material designed to cause technical problems with the message boards or other parts of the network
  • Any advertisement not directly related to roleplaying
The best ally in determining what should or should not be posted is common sense. If in doubt, an administrator or forum moderator will be glad to assist you.

7) If you find that you disagree with how the community is run, or if you disagree with particular staff action, you are encouraged to bring forth your concerns in a courteous and respectful manner on the appropriate forum or by private medium. None of our moderators or administrators are perfect, but if there is a reasonable disagreement and everyone involved is willing to work it out civilly, we will try our best to ensure all concerned are pleased with the outcome.

When contacting staff members over a private medium it is expected that you should do so respectfully if you want respectable treatment from them in return. While private communication cannot lead to disciplinary action on the network, don't expect any staff members to put up with you or give you their time if you're going to act immature.

8) Material inappropriately posted to the wrong message board is subject to being moved to the proper message board by the Administration or a Moderator. When appropriate, the Administrator or Moderator will leave a "shadow" to make finding the moved material easier.

9) When posting material to the Ayenee.org Network, posting the material in multiple locations requires prior authorization from an Administrator. If duplicate material is encountered, the copy in the most appropriate location will be kept and the rest will be deleted, with any further action being taken by the Administration as deemed necessary.

10) Images posted in Ayenee.org Network content must be hosted with either a public image service such as ImageShack or PhotoBucket, or on webspace that you pay for and allows you to remote link from. They may not be remote linked from webspace you do not have permission to link to, which includes most free website providers like Angelfire or Geocities. Any form of circumventing anti-linking measures, such as changing of file extensions,is strictly prohibited. Unauthorized remote linked images will be removed and appropriate disciplinary action will be taken on users who post them.

11) Users of the Ayenee.org Network Message Boards are allowed a graphical avatar, textual 'custom title', and signature attached to the bottom of their posts which may be textual, graphical, or both. In all of these, text and images must adhere to all other community rules and guidelines. All of these are a privilege, not a right, of using the boards, and can be removed for repeated offenses. Even appropriate avatars, titles, or signatures may be removed if they interfere, intentionally or not, with the technical aspects of the web page. If any are removed for any reason, the user will be contacted as to why. Issues with the community rules should be taken to the support forum for review.
