The stone and the magic ball were both on target, and neither of the elementals would have the necessary time to react. While neither Bram's attack nor that of the dragon spirit currently controlling Leric would actually kill the elemental spirits, it would make them far less amiable toward Inferno if he'd called them forth only to be dispatched. He chose to take matters into his own hands.
"PAYS NATAL FEU!" The voice of the Burster erupted forth and resonated off the trees and rocks. Instantly, the elementals vanished, leaving Bram's rock to roll into the ground, and the dark energy ball of the dragon spirit to fly until it either lost energy or collided with some random object after leaving the planet's atmosphere.
Inferno then walked over to the hungering cold spell that was headed for the lava geysers, and placed his foot directly in the path of the creeping ice. As it began to crawl up his foot, his leg erupted into flame. There was a brief bit of crackling, but soon the energy of the quickly cast spell was exhausted in the battle with the pyromancer, and the spell halted.
"Now for the next order of business..." Inferno held out his hands and gradually lowered them to the ground. The lava geysers ceased, and went back to their natural underground flow. Inferno knew that the enchantments on the land, which ran all about Ayenee, would eventually take care of the damage done by the fire and ice, so he didn't bother with attempting any of that himself. He was far more concerned with Bram and Leric.
He looked over at Bram and just shook his head. "For one who acts so fierce, you have a long way to go."
Inferno then turned his attention to Leric...or rather to the one who called himself Chaos. He went airborne with a jet of flame beneath him, and manipulated the stream of fire so he remained in mid-air directly in front of the dragoon. Paying no more attention to the elemental barrier than he would to a wall of ice, Inferno burned through the clumsily woven barrier spell almost instantly. Quick magic was always good for an instant fix, but when dealing with those who had masterful command of any type of power, it was never the best solution.
The Burster addressed the creature who called itself Chaos directly. His tone was deadly serious, and left no room for thinking that anything less than a threat was intended."My test was meant for Leric! It was not meant for you, and your attempts to show me what you can do have left you looking only more foolish than I first thought you were."
Inferno looked directly into the eyes of the dragoon, and his own eyes flashed for just a moment. In that moment, Chaos would see the red glow that was a telltale sign of only one type of creature. Elder dragons, and only elder dragons, could obtain that kind of a glow in their eyes. It would be painfully obvious that there was an elder dragon looking through Inferno's eyes. Inferno continued once his eyes were back to normal. "You have no idea with whom you are dealing. You will learn your place, and you will stay in it, or what pitiful excuse of a life you now have will be snuffed out for you. Do I make myself perfectly understood?"
