Babe in the Woods: OOC

DSX, I'm so sorry. I have truly done you a grave disservice.

It was so completely thoughtless of me to have not taken your feelings into account when I decided to play the character you abandoned.

I do so hope that you will someday find it in your heart to forgive me.

But don't you worry your pretty little head. I've figured out a way so that I won't have to screw things up with your character any more. I'll put him in the vines, and let Sennoth, someone who actually wants to play and enjoy the game, out of the trap. Ooh, dear, he didn't actually make the save to get free did he? Thats ok, You're forsaken character can give him an assist for a +2 bonus, and now he beats the DC. Everything works out for the best. Oh, but I bet that you won't like that either, because I did it wrong. Dear me, it seems that I still have much to learn from you, Master DSX.

I'm truly sorry that I've failed you, time and time again. It is indeed a heavy burden on my heart. The only condolence I can find is to keep in mind that your disapproval will make me a better DM, for the players who are just too silly to realize that they should stop caring about having fun and focus more on making sure that every single rule is followed to the letter.

Bless you, DSX. Your wisdom will truly guide this game to a better tomorrow. It is my truest and most sincerest wish that some day, somehow, to one day become as totally awesome as you are. Bless you and bless you again!

I couldn't care less how you chose to act with my character.

What I do care about is the fact that you knowingly break the rules repeatedly where, if we were to try the same, you would deny it.

Can my cleric drop a domain spell for a heal? When I'm controlling him, no, when you are, sure!
Can a character move over their listed speed without any enhancement and do an attack? If it was us, no, if it's you, sure! Oh, wait, but not when it's a charge.

Consistency. It's what you lack as a DM, by your own admittance. It's like playing chess and saying "oh, at any time I can move a pawn like a queen and you can't".

Actions like that break the submersion in the game. Actions you've done repeatedly, actions you willingly and openly make.

And trying to mock me like that is in poor taste. Even for you.

Oh, did we start caring about being tasteful now? Thats news to me, coming from someone who admits that the reason they keep posting is to ride my ass.

Tell you what... When you feel like making posts with a 'tasteful' critique, rather than one that is meant to deride me, then you will get a tasteful response.

I don't mind you posting with the intent of helping the game. But posting with the intent to just be an ass will not get anything other than mockery in response.

Good day, sir.

~Walks in~

Alright you two, back to your corners. Break it up.

First of all, if it is true that SJ did break the rules, which I don't know the rules, so I don't know if he did or not...then bad SJ. ~Wags finger~

Secondly, DSX, since we're at the end of the game, regardless of how shitty you might feel that SJ is running the game, you shouldn't abandon your character. By doing that you effect everyone in the game. Bad DSX.

Thirdly, and here's the most important thing, so pay attention closely:

When Sj first propositioned me into the game, well not propositioned, more or less he said 'you're doing this' and I went "HEY.....okay.' The main reason why I never wanted to do tabletop is because I've been role playing for so long that most people assume that I know how or that I'm some genius when it comes to dice rolling games. This is my first dice rolling game, and as big of an idiot as I was starting this, SJ answered every questioned and walked me through every step so that I understood where and why everything was happening. I have to applaud his patience with my posts, and my rolling and my questions, because even though he is SJ, he never once gave me the impression that I was 'retarded' by asking a question related to the game.

Not Once.

Now, yes...outside of the game, SJ in general is an asshole to most people. That's SJ. I deal with it, you deal with it, and because we do there is still role play occurring on the boards. Funny how that happens.

Now, in relation to this game, what's happened has happened. We're at the end of the game and trying to finish it up because a few of us are excited to begin the next one, so really what happened a week or so back no longer matters.

Conclusion: Let it rest, both of you. SJ, keep doing what you're doing, because you are the DM, and therefore you run the game, and DSX, you left the game so you shouldn't linger on it anymore.

Summary: Can't we all just get along?

Tiff. There's a thing in D&D called "Rule Zero" it basically lets the DM change/bend what ever rules they want if it makes the game better (more fun) for the players.

Ok, so we've completed Babe in the Woods.

I cut the ending rather short and abruptly, which I am sorry for. But I figured it for the best I think the final battle was the big surprise, especially with the old 'evil twin' switcheroo pulled on you.

So if you don't mind, I'd like to hear your opinions on the game. Tell me what you liked and what you hated. Tell me things that you remember as being truly epic and awesome. Tell me things you thought were utterly lame and tedious. Most of all, tell me if you enjoyed it, and are looking forward to the next one or not?

I think its a tale that might have benefitted more from me being able to roll more than a 2.

I enjoyed it, although was I to do it again, I'd play a different character I think. The Sorc didn't really work for me.

A couple more clues about the Satyr might've added some depth, and also a bit more to bring him into things.

Heh, you are the only one who knows about the Satyr, so you are the only one who would miss it. Although now that you've mentioned it, I should tell everyone I suppose.

The Satyr was actually a creature of good. He had figured out that it was 'Pacoth' who was causing the troubles in the forest. So, he had ensorcelled her. Unfortunately, he didn't think it through very well, because he forgot that the ensorcelling would break when he stopped playing. So he was stuck playing for a very long time until he could figure out what to do.

But worst of all, he was killed before he could explain himself. Phaeder started to figure it out, I think, but before he could, the Doppleganger had broken out of the ensorcellement, and he had bigger things to worry about. I was kind of wondering if he would bring it up again before the game ended... possibly question the druid about the Satyr, but that didn't come to pass, so I figured it would just be an unsolved mystery.

I myself figured it out AFTER the poor Satyr was killed but things played out like they should have. It was just sad that he got owned so quickly before he could explain. The ending was interesting. I was surprised that I was rolling so well in the beginning of the matchup between the evil Pacoth.

All in all, if it had not been for all the dropouts and the unfortunate departure of one of our player controllers, it would have been awesome. I enjoyed Phaeder myself but I would have tweaked his character more now that I think about it. Even the fact that Serenity despised the sorcerer made things interesting....gave characters depth and such. The Render thing was hilarious though...that was one of my highlights I think as was the end. Looking forward to the next game, but I'll miss this one too.
