The Gathering of Lost Souls

As she took the childs hand she had a flash back of the day she first met Tyrtaeus. She remembered when he reached for Her hand and pulled her up unto his steed and then all this began. Maybe she should of turned and run instead of going with him and got involved in this adventure. But that is now in the past and here she is now being the one to lead others into thier fate. She wondered what happened to that Mighty Knight, if he survived his quest and if maybe one day they would meet again, ....that is if fate would allow it.

Nalya looked down to the boy and smiled and tried to not show her concerns and worries and just at that moment Theron let out a yell for his victory. Nalya turned swiftly on her heal and gave him a most displeased look.

"SHHHhhhhhh!!. I told you we must me silent. Do you not understand how much danger we all are in?" Though she was extremely angry with Theron she made sure to keep her voice low.

"Get your prize and don't do such a foolish thing again!," she paused slightly befor looking to Sarah. "Sarah would you mind leading the way being you are handy with your sword, we need to cut a path through this brush."

Anon listened to Nalya. When she mentioned cutting through the brush, his eyes brightened. He let go of her hand and dug into the single pouch he had on his belt. He pulled out a red ball, then tugged at the cloak Nalya wore.

"I can help wif dat. Dis can help us."

He didn't bother giving her a chance to respond. He touched a part of the ball, and a small compartment opened. He pulled out what looked to be nothing more than a small wire, and held it out for her to see. He smiled wide and then threw the wire, as if it were a disc, toward the path they needed to travel. The wire flew through the air and expanded slightly. When it came into contact with the overgrown center of the path, it sliced through the foliage as if it were a warrior's katana slicing through cheese. The path it cut was small, and the sides of the path were still overgrown, but the center was cleared, and wide enough for them to pass for several hundred feet in distance to where the wire finally fell to the ground.

Anon looked up at Nalya with a proud grin. Not thinking that she wouldn't realize the entire context of what he was about to say, Anon described how he came into possession of the cutting wire. "Daddy gave me dat one."

Theron's mouth snapped shut as he regained his silence. It was not an overly easy thing for him to accomplish however he did. With that he simply braced the hare to his belt and continued down the path.

Sarah moving to oblige Nalya strode hard to the front until she saw the young boy pitch the wire and watched as it flew down the path and cleared the path in front of them. Suddenly the tactical applications for that item began to jump in her mind. Anything that cut like that had its uses. The question that needed asking was always the one on Sarah's lips...

"And who exactly is your father?" Stepping out in front of them she would take point, magical items typically had a resonance that could be fealt and tracked. Trusting the more mundane nature of her long sword and shield she would cut through the rest of the way if needed. "I would like to ask him about that cutting wire of yours, if its ok with you?" The smile graced her lips, the boy was cute and apparently useful!

Theron moved up to the bunch as he walked. Head ever on a swivel and watching everything as if he expected bad guys are the nearest bend of bush!

Nalya's jaw dropped open when she saw what Anon's gadget could do. She had man questions but now was not the time to stop and ask them, there would be plenty of time for questions after they reached their destination. Taking the boys hand once again she smiled down at him in a loving manner and said.

"Thank you Anon for sharing that with us, it will definitely make our trek through this brush much much easier."

With a quick glance to both Theron and Sarah she took the lead once again now that a decent path was cleared. And it was not a moment too soon for perched upon one of the tallest trees sat a Raven which seemed way to interested in what the foursome was doing. She wasn't sure if the twins had noticed the dense fog that seemed to be forming behind them.

"Hurry now children, we are running out of time and we must get to the Tower be for night fall."

He was confused at Sara's question. Did she not know that Daddy and Father were synonyms? He decided he'd clarify for her. "My fahder is Daddy. They da same fing." Anon couldn't fathom that someone wouldn't know who his father was. After all, everybody he knew was well aware of who his father was. Every visitor that came to the inn their family owned, and everyone that smiled at him and said 'Hi, Anon.' on the town streets knew precisely who his father was. Sure from time to time there was somebody who didn't know who Anon was, and they'd ask his dad 'Who's this little guy?' but they all knew his father. Why should these people be any different?

Anon smiled at Nalya's approval, and picked up the cutting wire as they came upon where it had landed. He stuck it back in the ball. He then turned the small toy and touched another part. He looked up at Nalya as she was gazing at the bird. His eyes caught sight of the creature, and an awkward smirk came across the boy's face. "Mommy don't like birds. She sayd dey was bad now." He then looked back at Nalya and, with a huge grin, tugged at her cloak again. "I got dis one from my godfodder. Watch dis."

The boy tossed the red ball only a few feet in front of the group. It bounced once in the tall foliage and then exploded in a brilliant display of light that dispelled the Gray for a moment. In an instant, in front of the group was a red doorway, lit in the middle with the brilliant light of the tower. Visible through the portal was the group of travelers consisting of Jewel, Der, Gamel, Swish, and Fang. Anon beamed with pride and pointed. "It worked! See? Dat's where we need to go!" Anon let go of her hand and trotted on ahead. Already the head of the dragon was turned their direction. Intimidating though his appearance may have been, the group lead by Nalya would feel an overwhelming sense of peace and comfort coming from the dragon. Anon stopped just short of the portal and waved for the others to catch up. "Come on! Less go!"

Nalya's eyes fell instantly upon Swish and her heart beat just a bit faster. Her face lit up as she smiled seeing her dear friend.

"Come on Sarah, Theron, lets go!"

Nalya took Anon's hand and rushed to the portal almost as quickly as the boy. She could feel it in her soul that this was for real and not a trick and she didn't think twice about stepping through.

"Hurry children before it closes, there will be plenty of time for questions once we get to the other side."

Sarah stopped momentarily in front of the portal, the question forming and disapearing all in the same instant. Stepping through she would not ask her question, until the other side as instructed. She kept thinking the whole time...The questions keep mounting and the answers are less than forthcoming!

Theron was more inclined to bolt through, not waiting or looking. His mindset was, take to much time and you wont go. They were through, to where noone knew!
