It may not be my place to comment on Staff matters so if I am wrong in doing so I will accept what ever consequences there may be.
I am referring to the thread-Public Opinion on Moderator discussion-.
There are many issues which staff will discuss that would effect the entire forum and letting members have a chance to comment on them isn't a bad way to go. If some change is going to happen within/to the forum which after the fact it causes the displeasure of the members, you may jeapordize the member base.
I experienced being on staff on another forum and I have to say not"everything" needs to be discussed in the public eye.
There will be matters in which a comment or statement made by staff will be taken out of context and will cause problems within the community. Some times something stated by staff is of a delicate nature and it would only cause conflicts between said staffer and fellow member.
There are many a reason in which not everything needs to be viewed by the public so perhaps a private board for staff discussion/s wouldn't be a bad way to go.
