SATO: assembling the team

Mathias stood watching over the assembled task force from the elevated stag, a rag tag group to be sure, but possibly one of the best moves towards coexistence with the inhabitants of these worlds. He wore a charcoal grey BDU set with the SATO patch on the upper arms. A book with quill and shield side by side with a pair of wings curved up from the bottom and around the sides.

The camp had been put together with a few warehouse like structure to suite their needs near nightstalker base. A couple STVs and a Raccoon shuttle were all they had right now, but as they proved their worth and learned more they would grow. He was a young man in his early twenties, but he had all silver hair like someone with years beyond him. His face was gaunt yet kind, with a pair misty grey eyes that looked over the group as if always searching for something.

Mathias cleared his throat before switching on the mic on his podium which had the same emblem as his patch, "Today we have done something that has not been done until now. We have come together to combine our resources in hopes of understanding the phenomenon that are equally numerous and aw inspiring in this world. The newcomers of the Kikyo sector, and those who call this world home, joining to learn and explore. Our job will to be to study, learn, and if possible to do safely, integrate this knowledge. The rule book goes out the window when dealing with the unknown, so we will have to make our own. We are not a military, we are a militia of scientist, scholars, users of technology, practicers of magic, and even adventures in our own way. That is why I am proud to congratulate the first graduating unit of SATO. Let us make history together, and learn what things the world can teach us."
