I'm fine with passing on admin duty

But did anyone think to maybe email the "now previous" admin when the initial interest in someone else taking over came up? I didn't know anything until I got the "hey we got a new server" email (which, by the way, Google says is suspect but not spam).

Much like Madi (who I do keep up with on email), real life took over for a bit so I wasn't checking the forums at all anymore. Which caused me to miss Wes saying he'd take over (otherwise, I would've handed over that info). Which leads to now. Obviously the old forums are disabled, which is fine, they should've been replaced a long time ago, but the hosting is still active (and with no reason to keep it up, I'll likely cancel it) and the newayenee.org domain is also in my hands, but should probably either get taken over or at least direct here, but I'd prefer handing it over.

I'll try to follow up with this here until that is resolved least. Well, at least I can get emails when anyone replies.

I apologize if I caught you by surprise! I actually wasn't sure you were still around/active. As far as hosting, the old version of the board on Vbulletin is so out of date that it's basically begging to be hacked, and the license is presumably long-expired so it can't be patched even if we wanted to, so it's probably best to put it out of its misery. I've got the new forum (this one) set up on my Dreamhost VPS where its cost is covered by my other RP site, so there's no need for the old webhost and hopefully I can save you some money by letting you close that account.

IRL stuff has taken over for a lot of us, lol.

I'm just happy to to see you again.

I am aware of that. It was something I'd brought up, and to be honest, I suggested switching off of vBulletin anyways, and to XenForo, if they'd found someone to take over for me. Otherwise, the community had been practically dead and my real life ran me over.

I planned on cancelling it now and I'll see about getting the newayenee.org domain pointing here, if i can figure that out (that's not my area of tech expertise). Just going to be a question if you want me to hand the domain registration over or if I should let it lapse.

Only other thing I'd point out, is there an SSL certificate in use for the login to the forums? I can see there isn't one for the forums in general.

Speaking of, I've set the hosting for the old site to not renew, it will expire on Feb 14, 2017 unless I choose to cancel it earlier (which I may, since they'll prorate a refund).

The newayenee.org domain is still set to renew, and will automatically renew on Aug 26, 2017, and after that renewal, I may set it to no longer renew, so you have quite a while to figure out if you want to take it over or just let it go. Since I'm not an expert at editing zones, I just took advantage of HostMonster's option to have the site redirect, so going to www.newayenee.org will just redirect here.

Sorry Chaos, I figured as you had said that you wanted to give up the reigns two years ago you'd be gung-ho on the idea of Wes taking over. Although you make a good point that I should have emailed you about it, and I am sorry about that. It all kind of took off pretty quickly and I was only half paying attention at the time. In any case I'm sorry.

For the record, I contacted you through the site on it. It was my understanding that your notifications were sent to email, as well. My mistake.
