Future Upgrades

This one is mostly for Ceros.

I saw your update note. I think in the future, we should try to give advance notice about any predictable downtime. I realize it was only 15 min, but still, people like to know.

Also, considering how much of a time shift you are on, you could probably do upgrades like this at better time than 7 at night. Thats typically high-traffict time. With your schedule, you should be able to do downtime during the wee hours of the morning.

Well, I thought about this, but unlike 3.6.2, 3.6.3 was a security vulnerability fix and I implemented the patch immediately.

Patches that are non-security in nature will get implemented on a more timing friendly scedule.

Also, giving advanced notice of a 15 minute outage is silly. When I turn the board off, it shows any non-admin user whatever message I set. Usually, "We are upgrading - back shortly, bitches" or something.

I agree. Fifteen, twenty minutes isn't a big deal. Giving a warning about that seems pretty trivial. Just as long as there is something stating that the forums are being updated, and an estimation of time it'll take, maybe.

If it's gonna be down for a longer amount of time, I'd say like an hour or more, sure, put a lil' warning up, unless it's something like security measure that really shouldn't wait.

Jus' my two cents, yo'.
